I've e got a few travel razors and this one is a favorite.:) I took it on a weekend getaway to Hocking Hills.:) ruclips.net/video/FUtEhTvVxN4/видео.html
Hi Mark. I have had the exact same Parker travel razor for about 2 years now and I am very happy with it. It's also available in an open comb version. I like the leather pouch. The only minor downside is, there is no room for blades. Have a nice Sunday. 💈👍🏻
Hi Mark- Great shave and travel razor review; thank you! The Parker is a nice-looking setup! I hope your weekend is off to a great start and best regards, as always!
As one viewer noted, you may want to take alook at the Maggard MRT. Looks similar to the Gillette Tech handle, only in stainless. www.maggardrazors.com/product/maggard-razors-mrt-stainless-travel-handle-safety-razor/
Great shave Mark! I just got in a 34c and paired it with a Chinese Wilkinson sword blade. Oh man did I ever get a nice mild shave from that pairing. It always amazes me how a shave can go because of the blade alone. Hope you are having a great day good sir.
I kinda think nobody needs travel razors because every three piece razor can get sooo small! But than there are this two piece handles and, even better, the cool little bags 😍 maybe I'll get one too 😁
Great review and smooth shave Mark, I bought mine because I love the Parker 94R and this A1R has the same head as the 94R. Beautiful razor and has a nice heft to it. I agree very efficient and smooth. The case is also excellent quality full grain leather lime you stated. The Gillette is beautiful but it looks thin in the cap and has no weight to it. Have a great weekend Mark:)
Mark Szorady The weight in the handle for me gives a different shave in a good way, the balance is spot on and gives you a really comfortable smooth and efficient shave.
Ah, there is my favorite travel razor!! I actually have it in my bag right now, as I'm on the road for my job currently and I just used it this morning. I used TOBS Sandalwood shave stick with fire mare brush, and Sandalwood aftershave from TOBS as well. Gillette Platinum blade. I'm glad you are enjoying this razor Mark. It's really do the job for me on the road when needed. Cheers from.... Where am I..... Oh yeah, Baltimore Maryland!!!!
@@MarkSzorady definitely. It's been a blessing for my travel shaves, and on flights where I can't take blades, I mail blades to the hotel that I know I'll stay in, with like an article of clothing a few days ahead of time, and then send them back before my flight. The only blade I have used in it that didn't work so well for me was the Dorco Prime blades. That blade gave me some weepers and irritation in this razor, but in others not so much. Best ones I have seen have been Gillette Platinum, Voskhod, Gillette Silver Blues, and Astra. It really is a fantastic way to continue with your passion of the full wet shave and not have to compromise. Glad you enjoy it Mark!!! I'm actually in the car ride back with coworkers to Florida as we speak and it's not my turn to drive, so I should be back in Florida tonight. Cheers from.... Where are we now.....North Carolina!!!!
@@nydieselinfl Awesome to hear from you while on the road.:) Glad you've got a signal.:) I'll have to try the Dorco Prime jsut to see. I used Derby Premium already and the shave was especially smooth!:) Three passes and BBS.:) Safe travels.:)
I just got a vintage travel razor from Germany it’s like a vest travel razor . If u want I can email you a pic of it, it’s really old . One of my friends I met on Facebook give me that a brush and some other things for helping her sell her traditional white shaving stuff. She goes to estate sales and buys vintage stuff
Nice video for consideration of one's travel needs. I agree that the Gillette Travel Tech handle is too light and tiny! So I bought a Maggard MRT travel handle and this has better weight and diameter. But the Parker (and Merkur's) travel razors certainly look to have the needed size and weight to do your shave more efficiently.
I bought the A1R when I began wet shaving but didn’t have much luck Going to try it again after 8 months with a persona blade Prior to now it always bit me
My rule of thumb is, if a razor (soap, blade, etc.) doesn't work right off the bat for me, I set it aside and come back to it in a month or so. I usually see an improvement.:)
Hi Mark, I have at least 10 safety razors and use the parker travel razor mostly as my "daily driver" for some years. In combination withe the personna platinum blades it gives me great shaves. Since 1 month i use the parker a1r with voskhod blades. With this blades the shaves are the smoothest and cleanest i've ever had. Best feeling while and after the shave. This combination works for me the best and i have used a lot oft different razors and blades. greetings from germany Ronny
Great shave and video Mark👍🏻. Cool razor😎. You should try the Crystal blade from Personna. Think you will really like it if you like the IP and Lab Blue.
@@MarkSzorady bought it for 23 or 24 dollars on eBay. I am done with razors for now before it turns into a problem. For my other shaving materials, I plan to 3D print them once my university opens up. Love the recommendations though because through your experience it expands my knowledge on where I should invest my money into.
That Gillette razor is really dinky, but maybe that Parker is even dinkier! 😅 Mark, I wonder if you could consider a review of the Speick shaving cream from Germany please? Thank you. 🇩🇪👍
I feel like we're family. Thank you

Thanks, Mike!:) I'm really liking this Parker razor.:) Weekend is shaping up nicely.:)
Great shave thanks for sharing
Good I'm excited to see how the 56r works out with the longer handle if indeed both razors use the same head.
Yes, I've heard that Parker, like Edwin Jagger, uses the same razor head on all, if not, most, of their 3-piece razors.
I really enjoy my parker A1R razor i use today with a feather blade in it:)
Magnus, it's a great little razor.:) I need to use it again.:)
Out of the many razors I own, only 1 is modern. But this is one I might have to get to replace my travel tech.

Those leather razor holders are nice and do a good job of protecting three-piece,etc. safety razors.
@@MarkSzorady i guess they do! That Parker razor looks really nice! Maybe i will get one. is the aggressive around 33/34C?
@@jensebu78 the aggression is just slightly higher than the 34C. What the shave is very, very smooth.:) A very efficient razor.:)
