@@DerkaGames I feel like you should do a series on each ship from tier 4 on up on what their good at and how you play them I looked for Lyon but looks like no video on it yet and there is ships that will be a sin like Scharnhorst’s sister in the German tech tree at tier 6 in the original line
In real life, it was originally plan for Bourgogne to become one of four battleships that were designed in response to the construction of German H-class Superbattleships. According to the Blueprints, the new Battleships would've had similar hulls to Gascogne's, but with thicker decks and armor belts. Moreover, prior to WWII, French shipbuilders lacked experience in designing triple gun turrets, which is why they would probably have installed proven quadruple gun turrets on the new ships. On April 15, 1940, the French Parliament approved the construction of four Battleships- The lead ship Alsace, Normandie, Flandre, and Bourgogne. However, they were never laid down. Two months after the approval was given, on June 22, the defeated French signed the Armistice Of Compiègne with Germany.
Derka another great vid. I had a laugh when you said you are watching and enjoying vids from potato quality, because started watching them some time ago and they are just realy good. I have to agree some of these maps feel realy small. I would put in the same place as PQ because you almost talk the same easy way and give good advice. Keep up the good work Derka!
30min ? Yeah boi ! I'm gonna love it for sure, i still love my Champagne, finding it within my top 5 BBs, and i think being experienced with a kitter/Crossfire lover kind of ship is gonna be a big help, AL Dunkerque's special perk is a bless and is gonna help with the lesser amount of MBRB, can't wait to get it, i'm already at the middle of the second segment xD
Initially I was not a fan of the Bourgogne because of the 380's. Admittedly, the very first review I watched was on LetUmPeek's channel and he wasn't a fan at all. He did accurately showcase the vulnerabilities which were an issue for him and I agreed with him. But, I still knew I needed a few more opinions because going on one video review isn't thinking critically. So, not very long after I watched Xarkun's review and anyone informed knows that Xarkun is the resident Vulcan of WoW Legends regarding his review videos, so to no surprise, he loves the ship and provided a very good demonstration while marveling at the amount of criticism the ship has drawn. and that got to thinking... So I came here for the tie-breaker and before i pressed the "play" button I already knew how Derka would present this ship and I suspected he would like the Bourgogne. A Aron shows up here and I hear he likes the ship as well. Again, not surprised. This is a ship that i think is designed to be a reward to players who play this game with a kinda chess-player perspective. The casual player will likely pass on it and certain styles of gameplay from avid players may not blend well with the Bourgogne. This is not to suggest nor should it be suggested that if a player doesn't like the ship then said player is not a good player because that's absolutely not true. To counter that I'd be quick to point out that the Gascogne, a well-dismissed battleship that is seldom seen, played or celebrated is one of Metajerk's favorite battleships which he has showcased on his channel getting Krakens with the damn thing. I'm seeing the Bourgogne as a ship that may demand positioning and map awareness in a more uncompromising way, that favors players who approach this game with a very distinct methodology, in my opinion. In other words, those damn nerds of WoW Legends. 😜 We do need them out there, and this video has me looking at the Bourgogne from a different perspective. But that's just me.
I mean to each their own, but you hit the nail on the head...dismissing a ship so quickly before finding out their place in Wowsl, the best way to play them, how to do well etc, is kind of silly. You're right. The causal player will likely rather sit bow in, in their Yamato, than figure how to play a ship like this. But hey, it's what keeps the game interesting for those of us with 1000s of games played. Variety and a bit of a challenge here or there. I watched Xarkuns video, I think he has a better grasp on how to play more difficult boats than some other CCs...
A solution to too many snipers at high tier is to make brawling battleships take way less damage at extreme range, and a lot less damage from torps. And also have brawlers not have the range to deal with snipers. This would make brawlers abe to brawl, snipers able to snipe, and would prevent each from interfering with each other too badly.
Hey derka, should check out peeks video on commander dispersion bug (potential) and see what you think, and make a video on it. Many of us think it’s possible and some don’t, I feel it needs more data points to look off of to make a conclusion but seems possible.
I try to stay out of stuff like that. I did not watch the vid (and I wont) but I suppose I would just say, try not to get sucked in to stuff like this unless the evidence is irrefutable. Real confirmed bugs in the game that were fixed like the turret damage bug, overpen bug, and SAP saturation bug were irrefutable. They were confirmed with different commanders, classes, ships, etc over and over. Can the same be said for the "dispersion bug?"
She seems like she may be may only LT brawler but I will see when I get there. I usually never use firefighter with FFwF, just so i have more possibility of having the 3 fires, and when using flammable cannonier it's more like a plus. The soundtracks for the third battle is much better than the one on previous battles.
Thank you for discussing other commanders other than AL Dunkerque (sp?)… I get a bit tired of CC vids showcasing maxed commanders whom frankly most of the players will not have. Running more realistic builds to explain what the general playerbase may experience is - in my humble opinion - the way to go. Plus no-one’s yet shown the ship’s actual camo. 😂
I dumped Flammable Cannonier for a while, but then I realized that I'm going to spend most of the game on fire either way, and if it's not from this salvo, it's going to be from the next one, so I put it back on and the guns perform way better. And I generally run FFwF during solo play anyway, so that helps.
Hi Derka. I used to steer clear or flammable cannoneer like it was the plague, especially as I play aggressive ships most of the time, but having done some experimenting I’m not really seeing the diffidence. So much R n G is involved it doesn’t feel much different unless you go full fire retardant with every perk you can. The HE meta seams to be, if a light cruiser wants you in fire then you’re gonna be on fire. I used to run brawler on all my KM, But lately find myself running Cannoneer on most due to meta stand off first half being more useful than a full brawl setup. Hell, I’m even running FC and RWS on all my battle cruisers where all the CC seam to have gone with damage con in mod slot2, damage con in line 1 and fight fire with fire in ledge. I suppose what I’m trying to say Is I don’t think the girl reduction numbers on screen actually add up to much in actual gameplay. I think a Hive has a big article on it in Discord. A lot of math and old now so you would have to ask him for a link
I guess what I see is the evidence in my game play. Two brothers with burger, Flam cannonier and no Firefighter, I got lit on fire nearly everytime I took a hit from Alaska and Kron. It's the only reason they killed me and I didn't win the flank by myself. After firefighter, I never died in Burger again. On top of that, years of playing American BBs with FC has always resulted in me getting burned down more. Just my .02 cents. You may have a game or two where you don't get lit on fire as much (rng) but in the long run I believe that 13% will catch up to you
Correction Derka, 127mm HE with 1/4 pen cant pen 32mm, and with the -1 they cant even pen 31mm, barely managing to pen 30mm which is honestly good enough and does fall under Yellow armor but cant penetrate all yellow armor.
