    The Rollers (Bay City Rollers) in 1979. New singer, new sound, shortened name. Quality music.

      So true. They could have been real competition for any rock band at the time. My heart hurts at how they we’re mismanaged by their record company.

      Yeah, Mr. Faure definitely added a new dimension to the Roller's writing and sound. Just as he did with Rabbitt. Great pop-rock sense.

      Their music is on iTunes. I am a little weary of purchasing any more of their music for fear they don't see any of the royalties. I am very concerned that the label owns the rights to their music! I've contacted their current manager to find out any information.

    Japan:アルバム発売前に、シングルカットされた曲ですね。ダンカン指揮で、こんなにも変わってしまうものかと思います。元々、このバンドはロックバンドですので、不思議ではないと、思います。^^

    • @jannylovesbcr
      @jannylovesbcr  6 лет назад +3

      Google translation...… Before the album release, it was a single-cut song. I think whether it will change so much with Duncan conducting. Originally, since this band is a rock band, I think that it is not strange.

      Hi Radhika, look up Duncan Faure. He is a South African musician who had the same kind of fan craziness with Rabbitt (in South Africa). He formed that band with Trevor Rabin, who went on to work with YES and also record solo music and movie soundtracks. Duncan joined "The Rollers" in 1979, after Les McKeown left BCR. He's quite fabulous isn't he??? He was a wonderful collaborator to Eric and Woody. His voice does remind me of a cross between John Lennon (who I have the sense is his idol), and Paul McCartney. I really wish The Rollers had had more success with their new sound. They were painfully unrecognized for their amazing musicianship!

  • @KathyRaymes3556

    There might have been a time that I actually liked this song, but my emotions were turned upside down after Les left the band. In my heart & mind, the Rollers were not the band I fell in love with without him. Sorry… just my opinion. ☹️

    They regroup with a talented new singer and record their best set of tunes since 'Wouldn't You Like It' in a vibrant power pop/new wave style and... Eric grows a moustache. 🤦‍♂️ Hadn't he seen enough magicians, sadistic military types and gentlemen friends of Tam Paton to realise how this totally sabotaged everything?
