@Mark, thanks for the feedback. I'll include that in the future! For now, let me walk you through it. Essentially I selected the geometry I wanted to bring into my comp scene and exported it out as an alembic. In Nuke all you have to do is Read in that alembic file, and voila. Your geo is in nuke, and you can apply it to your scene node!
is there any chance to make this tutorial from scratch? making the 3D environment, animating the x-wing and the tie fighter, and finally diving into nuke?
We think this link will be helpful! It's a guide to modifying Node Display. learn.foundry.com/nuke/8.0/content/getting_started/using_interface/customizing_node_display.html
any chance we can get the 3d asset? like the file with the animation finished? I can create the lasers and debris in Houdini but since I'm not an animator, I can't get the realistic flying.
@@ZeNoNThErMaL This scene is my own personal project I had started before teaming up with Action VFX. Unfortunately, it's not available for public access. However, since my background is in 3D, I will be making more videos with CG elements in the shot and will provide the sources to follow along with.

I was expecting more of this tutorial but still ActionVFX is doing an amazing job. Please bring us more detailed Nuke tuts!
More on the way!
@@ActionVFXofficial what i'd really like to know is how you got the 3d geo of the scene. a tutorial on that would be a lot more helpful :p
@@VenuSux @ActionVFX that's exactly what I was thinking

Glad we could help!

Thank YOU ActionVFX, make more advanced NUKE tutorials like this.
You're very welcome! More to come!
FWIW this is not an advanced tutorial -- it's junior comp (with some questionable retime choices tsk tsk).
Thank you so much, saved my work
YESSSS!! NUKE! thanks for this, i havnt even watched the video yet lol im just excited its a NUKE tutorial lol
We're here to bring value! More Nuke on the way!

@@ActionVFXofficial Thank you very much..it's very helpful!
great
Thanks....
This is great, any chance to replicate this in After Effects or DaVinci Resolve for us non Nuke users?
your arrow in UI for nodes is big and easy to read. How can you make it ? :) thank you
Check your line width in the "View Handles" properties! Let us know if that works!
@@ActionVFXofficial Got it. Thank you
Music on BG please

The finished plate is unavailable, unfortunately! The TIE Fighter and X-Wing can be found on videocopilot.
ActionVFX I know that but the landscape and the animation? Any chance you guys can provide those .abc files? Or fbx?

I’d kill for a tutorial on how to do this in Blender!
more nuke plesssssss

Me: Wow! This is a neat tutorial! I even know how to open Nuke! ...I guess that's a start...
It's never too late to start! Nuke offers a free non-commercial version!
@@ActionVFXofficial That's what I have lol. It's very complex even for someone who knows Fusion like the back of my hand lol
@@OfficiallyOToole Practice makes perfect. :)
@@OfficiallyOToole haha nice, I've the same issue, but reversed. Want to learn more about Fusion instead (since Nuke is very pricey)
why am I watching Nuke tutorials lol I can barely afford after effects
There's a free version of Nuke! www.foundry.com/products/nuke/non-commercial
Trust me, start moving to Nuke, download the free version and start playing with it, for compositing its way easier than AE.
@@ActionVFXofficial that free version its just for 3 mounts right?
@@degibocu No time limit on it!
