- Test and verify, when it comes to working on automotive projects you usually have mechanics in two different camps. One that just loads up the parts cannon and starts throwing parts at it, and one that tends to test and verify what they think is the issue. With this Pontiac LeMans build we're trying to keep this as budget friendly as possible, which means not spending money unnecessarily. So, let's do what we can to test before we replace. Pontiac fuel pump failure? Probably! Or is it something to with the lines or tank?
The goal with this Pontiac Project is much more than a typical Will it run and drive video, what we're trying to do is not only get this car fired up and moving under it's own power, but also begin the process of a race car build as well. Under our bent and broken hood is a Pontiac 350 which we believe is the original motor to the car. Our plan is to get this thing into the shop under it's own power so we can pull the engine and transmission to begin a build process to get this thing ready to run 12 flat or even 11.80s in a quarter mile for the 2024 Pontiac Nationals at Norwalk Ohio. We have a little less than 3 months to pull that off, sounds doable ya? Oh, and who's going to pilot this Poncho? Mr Bob McVay of McVay Automotive whom most of you know from The Old Man's Garage and Street Racing Channel!
So Pontiac 350 build is ahead but first we want to verify the condition of the motor and get it running. Unfortunately as you'll see Mother Nature had another idea and unleashed some serious weather on us pausing progress. Never fear, we'll be back at it as soon as the storms pass!
Stay safe out there. Once the weather clears up, it would be cool to see some of the cars on that lot. I saw a GMC Syclone sitting on the other side if the gate along with quite a few other cool cars.
There are a couple cool toys around here might show off a few of the ones in the stable at some point. And yes that's a GMC Syclone, all original truck, original owner ;)
Wow that is some crazy weather, glad ur safe. On the other hand u need an extra set of them to hold ur camera. As always keep adventuring!😉
Yaaaa I'm trying to do this on a low buck low help basis might need to figure something out. This adventure has just begun!

I would look for a rusted hard line or cracked soft line from tank to pump
Don't want to spend too much time/money digging into these things given I'm probably going to replace it all anyway. Make sure to keep watching the series!
Yup, I am the same kind of stupid lol. Gonna crawl in an engine bay today and do some 5 star rattle can restoration. Careful, those fuel filters burn down more cars than ex wives........I've heard
Yahhhhh I'm NOT a fan of those inline filters at all but they ARE handy with the fact I can see if fuel is coming forward or not. Takes the guess work out. Otherwise horrible idea!
Wasn't there a tornado yesterday or day before in Ohio?
There was one just down the road from us when I was wrapping this video up, thankfully it stayed clear enough to not damage anything or anyone here. It certainly got wild though!
