Yeah he is, he isn't related to me by blood, my grandfather was his son and his son then "adopted" my dad. I own his Charlie Brown drawing and some of his other drawing. My father has been into his drawing room, he told me that it was behind a bookshelf that you wouldn't expect to be a secret room.
His Daffy Duck animation is one of the easiest to spot, he drew him in a very distinct style, he has the record at being at the most animation studios in the golden age of cartoons, working for Disney, MGM, Warner Bros, Walter Lantz, Columbia, and UPA.
Incredible channel my friend, thank you for the hard work and research into everything!!! Animation thrives because of passionate artists like you that keep the past present by helping us create the future!!! Long Live Animation and Long Live The Maestro Emery Hawkins!!!
This is my Great Grandfather. I have some of his hand drawings. Thank you so much my sister and i enjoy this video very much.
Your grandfather is truly an inspiring animator. Glad you like it!

He is awesome. No doubt.
On Google, I looked up Emery Hawkins' model sheet of Woody Woodpecker's redesign.
I LOVE THIS GUY. I spent like two months last winter studying his work. Absolutely amazing.
Did you find anything interesting that you could shine upon me?
My favorite animator of the Golden Age. Just something about his poses is so satisfying.
Wow! He animated three famous birds and various things.
I respect him as freelance animator who worked for many animation studios.

Those portions animated under Art Davis and McKimson are some of my absolute favorites man. Thanks.
I noticed he was really good at making the characters stagger. If you notice another thing he was always good at animating drunk characters.
Don't forget his work on Richard Williams' The Thief and The Cobbler

I didn't know his name, but I recognized the animation style even when I was a kid :D
It was the eyes, right?
@@jvgreendarmok That, and the way he captured the expressions while the head moved.
That take at 8:59 - had he been learning some tips from Jim Tyer???
Great Reel
Making Akira esque animation before Akira did. Or maybe Akira simply did Emery Hawkins would be more accurate and respectful.
