The best! Good to see you back in action (read you reason below...good man...family first!!!). FWIW, I enjoy your "real world" videos more than all the slickly edited perfect wave spot videos. Helps to see what a board will really do in conditions I see 99% of the time! 🤙🏽 Thanks for posting and hope you are doing well my friend!!!

thanks Brian, that is so nice to hear and greatly appreciated!
My goal is to show not only how a board surfs, but how it works when paddling out, standing around, or padding for a wave, because that is what we all want to know when researching a board.
I am well and enjoying everyday!

Yup... always does, but the crowds believe they are safer from the Great Whites when the sun is higher in the sky. That buys me some time 😊
Have fun this weekend and grab some good ones!

Is that right 135 liters... At 235 lbs... Wow! Exciting!.. if that is... I'm definitely going to try to experiment with a smaller board.. I imagined I'd be sinking most of the time.. at 230 lbs myself... Looking good👍

      Hi Michael
I have boards with way more volume that are less stable.
The Placid is my most stable board... size for size.
It sits down in the water, but is very quiet and easy on me.
More volume ahead of the handle with a fuller nose than most allows it to have a super thin tail with great rocker and still be very comfortable.
When I let people try my boards, I put out different shapes from 8'10 to 12'
      Volumes from 135 to 199
They always pic the Placid as one of the most comfortable.

@@rickweeks fascinating!!I thought larger weighted people were doomed to be in large volume boards... I have 2 boards .. a 10.5 175 ish liter starboard litetech widepoint... And a 11.4 bic ace tech... ... The starboard is definitely less stable.. but doable for me for sure.. I'm 6 foot 230... I'd like to progress in surfing... So I'm always interested in finding boards than can get me in the sub 10 ft range... Without it looking like I'm on a tight rope..😄. I appreciate the info!!

@@michaelgula3071 Both of those boards are basically the same width as the Placid.
It's more about width and overall board shape than just volume.
That said, the learning curve on a bigger board is much easier than a smaller one.
When you get comfortable in surf, then you can look at going smaller.
Of your boards, the Widepoint will be the better board to surf... it's a good surf shape as opposed to the AceTech which is more all-around flat-water shape - and heavy!
You will be surprised how quickly your body adjusts to the smaller Widepoint, if you use that exclusively
If you want to spend some money on a board that will be both more stable and surf amazingly well, then check out my video on the 9'6 Kanga
      ruclips.net/video/3aVZbykc77U/видео.html
      My Kanga is 9'6 x 33.5" at 167 liters
If you are a beginner SUPster, you may be more comfortable on the 9'9 x 34 3/8 at 181 liters which is a good size and volume.
It is a board that will be super comfortable for you and keep up with you even as an advanced rider... it is a truly amazing board.

      supthecreek@gmail.com
I can work with you to see where you are at in your progression and discuss what boards may suit you.
Full disclosure, I am a salesman for Sunova and GenRation.

Hi Rick. How are You? I send you an e-mail yesterday asking your fucus and opinion on Flow Casey Vs Flow Classic and the diffferences betw the two boards expecially on front rocker. Did you get it ? Cheers F.

      Hi Fabio
I did get the email and was working on a reply but the remnants of Hurricane Ida rolled over us and my internet went down. Hoping to get it fixed tomorrow, then I’ll send my reply. I just don’t work well from my phone. Thumbs must be too big 🙂

That looked a perfect morning and I hope I’ll be catching waves when I’m in my 70s. By the way what paddle do you use.
Keep up the great videos 👍

Thanks Andy, the stoke never grows old!
I use a GenRation S81 Carbon fixed shaft.
It is 6.5" wide. with a very thin shaft., it has increased my cadence and made me a quieter paddler.
The best handle I have tried... just the right amount of thumb control!

I was sidetracked by an 8 week project totally revamping my daughter's yard, plus building a deck and terrace.
12 hours a day 7 days a week... whew, it was amazing fun!
I may actually upload a video of it at some point... but we have Henri throwing waves at us, so it may take a while 😊
