No, you do change. It’s called making adjustments. It’s not a sin. Joyner, the marvelous freshman cost the game in Minnesota but Moss, the graduate student, was too aggressive against Penn State? I don’t like it. This is a double standard. Moss has cost USC all three losses. With two interceptions and a fumble to lose it for the team. Plus no help from D and no help with plays calls in crunch situations but Caleb managed under worse situations, so should the next QB for USC.

Lane Kiffin, Steve Sarkisian, Clay Helton, and now Lincoln Riley... Is USC football a head coach training program? USC has been hiring coaches who needed to learn what was needed to be a proper head coach on the fly, instead of coaches who were truly ready to lead a powerhouse football program like USC. Riley's coaching abilities may or may not improve over time but why should USC fans go through the agony of losing while he's learning? We need a head coach who can start winning now, not in the next decade.

I'm super happy honestly. I didn't think we'd be THIS good. I thought it was going to take a year for Moss and company to grow together. I thought the defense would automatically become better right away and it has. The fact that both sides are doing well and we are this good is a BIG pleasant surprise to me. Even though we have 3 losses, I'm actually ok with it. It took Michigan 4th and goal in the big house to win and it took the #4 team in the country several crazy 4th down conversions to take it to OT. The Minnesota game was a head scratcher but I'll wait to see how Minnesota turns out at the end of the year before deciding if that was a bad loss or not. I don't know... I'm kinda happy with our team and coaches. It seems like facilities are coming, NIL is getting fixed, and recruiting seems like it's getting better even though we're not yet recruiting at the elite levels. The 2026 class looks like it could be elite but that means waiting even longer for those players to develop and make an impact. I was hoping for wholesale, program shattering change at USC and it looks like it's happening and it will just take a few years honestly. If USC fans can be patient for the next 1-2 years, the future with this staff and the way the USC administration is backing the football program, man, this is going to be a juggernaught program in a couple of years. I just hope people are willing to be patient for the great things that seem like they're coming.

"you gotta be able to focus in and eliminate some of the mistakes..." when these kids (and yes, these 19-20 yr are kids) keep making mistakes when the game is on the line in these key moments... it's no longer a physical thing... it's no longer about "focus". it's all mental. this is very similar to what they called the "yips" in golf. when they're thinking too much... thinking about the outcome rather than being in the moment, they lose focus and mistakes pile up. i'm sure thoughts of michigan and minnesota came into these kids heads as the clock was winding down. you can't be focused on the game when you're fearful of the outcome. the moment got too big for them.
and who's job is it to help them focus and play? the head coach. lincoln could be a great x and o guy on offense but a huge part of being a head coach is being able to get your players mentally ready to play fast and play free and not allowing any negative thoughts to enter their heads in the game. i think sitting with a sports psychologist and getting some pointers on the mental aspect of the game would help lincoln greatly.

Big Boy recruiting has to pick up. Currently between both lines we only have Four 300 lb that are 4* and none are consensus, and Two are second years players and One a freshman🫣. Most top 15 teams have about 12 or more 5 or 4* 300 Big Boys. Defense is doing pretty good for what we have.✌🏽

We are close in every loss. We are not getting blown out. Last weekend I thought we played well enough to win.
I have been critical in the past of Mason Murphy and Elijah Paige. They both played really well against Penn State.
Our Entire offensive line played well. We ran for 189 yards against one of the top run defenses. Our defensive line held them to only 118 yards rushing. They played their hearts out. We have players banged up and nicked up right now, We need
to give those players less snaps and use our bench. In our three losses Miller Moss has had a pass completion precentage of 60 % or less. We need to play Jayden Maiava. I believe Jayden Maiava gives us the best chance to win right now.
There is something not right with MIller. He missed too many passes last game he would normally complete. We need to give both quarterbacks some snaps. The same thing with our other postions on the roster. Quinten Joyner needs more plays on the field and rest Woody. We need give our starters more rest these next two weeks and have them ready for the Washington game on November 2nd. I am a Miller Moss fan, but Jayden Maiava needs to see the field.

I can appreciate QBs often take undue criticism. I also appreciate that QB Coaching is Riley's towering strength and he wants to protect his QB1. But it is laughable that he has been so critical of Quinton Joyner over ONE play when Moss has clearly cost us 2 losses with his pick 6 at Michigan and his overthrow to 6'6" Duce that resulted in an INT vs Penn State. Not to mention, pound-for-pound Joyner is considerably more talented than Moss will ever be at his respective position, and he is three years younger. Riley, please stop with the Overt favoritism. It's a terrible look!

Enough with the excuses, Lincoln Riley. Fans are tired of the word salad and hollow justifications that reek of the Clay Helton era. The reality is simple: you are not getting the job done as a coach, play-caller, or game manager. USC football deserves better-because mediocrity has NEVER been the standard at this program, like Matt Leinart talked about.
We are 3-3, and we haven't even faced the real heavyweights like Oregon or Ohio State yet. Minnesota?! Seriously? Even Lane Kiffin managed to beat them. But here we are, underperforming, while Oregon snatches all the top recruits and leaves us in the dust. Meanwhile, you’re sitting on the sidelines, shaking your legs, talking about "the good things" we supposedly did. Spare us the clichés and fluff.
This is USC, not a mid-tier program. Riley is getting paid millions-not to deliver this kind of mediocrity, but to restore this program to national relevance. Being 3-3 is unacceptable, and it’s time we call it what it is: a failure. If things don’t change immediately, accountability needs to follow. This isn’t Oklahoma-this is USC. Get it together, or get out. - A frustrated USC fan.

I don't study who are the current best play callers; however, when Sark was with Alabama, he was lights out. I also think the Arizona St. HC who they got from Oregon is very good.
Lincoln is elite with designing plays & quarterbacks but I don't think he knows how to close with the run. He goes away from it when it's destroying the opposition. Lastly, he stops running plays that work. Like that reverse, it worked brilliantly, so do it again.

Then, when I watch the replay on the screen, it's like he's not adjusting the way other receivers adjust like a Jakobi Lane or Kyron Hudson. I just don't feel confident when a ball is thrown downfield to him. And he's never open. I don't get it. Are defenses double covering him or something? I don't know.
