Do you guys want to hear more stories about our mistakes and lessons learned from our rotations? 😋
yes please lol
yes.
yessss
I love the failures! They are hilarious
bruh those OR stories are simultaneously what terrifies me and makes me fall in love with that place😂
I think most of my rotation good stories occur in the OR 😂 such a love-hate relationship. You should tell us some of your stories in the next episode 🤪
This was probably one my favorite vlogs you've made, it had me laughing start to finish with all the stories you guys shared.
Yoooo that makes me so happy to hear :’) we have tons more funny stories, so we will make more vlogs like this!
That was hilarious, you need to make more of these vlogs talking about your mess ups and funny stories!
It's all about situational awareness in the OR. Gotta know where you are, where your hands are, and what everyone else is doing. Pro tip is get in that room early, help the techs/nurses set up and they will get you involved in minor procedures. I've been doing tap blocks with anesthesia, doing the foleys for each case, helping close after open surgeries etc. Just stay vigilant and get good at reading the room when you are interacting with the other healthcare professionals. Residents should help you out a ton too they've been amazing on my rotation
Thanks for sharing these stories. Great video, please share more stories about rotations if you get the chance, really insightful👍. The more we live is the more we learn. Continue to do your best, Happy Sunday :)
Hey Brianna! :) I’m glad you enjoyed it! We have tons more stories to share so we will definitely make more videos like this in the future! 😋
This video is so much fun to watch, like you people are talking about a moment and laughing on it, like it made me laugh.
And yes, definitely I would like to hear more stories like this.
Amazing video ☺
We really wanted to make this video feel candid and like a genuine story time, so we made sure not to tell each other about these stories before filming! :P I am glad you enjoyed!!
This video is gold! Great one, Shaun!
I really related to alot of these situations 😂
Thank you for sharing !!
I’m glad you can relate and it’s not just Deepal and I making these dumb mistakes 😂😂
This was hands down one of the best vlogs. 😂😂
This video made me feel so much better about myself after making very stupid mistakes during my first rotation! Thank you for being so open and candid. I laughed so much throughout! :)
Yes! Please more videos on stories too!
I so glad you feel that way! The whole reason we wanted to make this video was to share what medical students really go through during rotations, and normalize laughing at our own mistakes! 😋
This video was hilarious 😂 please share some more
hahaha I am glad you thought so! :P We have tons more stories to tell!
omg please keep making these videos!! this was so funny to watch! i am going to be starting med school this year, so this content is definitely relatable not only for students but also older residents/attendings who have gone through it!
We have tons of other stories to tell so we will definitely make more videos like this 😂 but I am so glad you found it relatable! We really wanted to show the real and honest side of clerkships and just have a laugh at the mistakes we have made!
Loved this, and you are right; I never hear these stories, and they are funny after the fact. . Thanks for sharing...more.
Glad you liked it! :) we have tons more stories to share!
This was a fun one to watch. Thanks Shaun
Thanks for watching!! :)
Great video ! Love this style and stories
Glad you like it Baylor! :D we will definitely be doing this style of video much more now!
Yay Deepal is back! He had me rolling with his stories with pimping lol. I guess the moral of the story is that there's no small talk in the OR and it should never be interpreted as small talk lolol.
Deepal is the GOAT 🐐 and yes! Get ready to be pimped at any single moment when you are in the OR or on other rotations 😂😂
Please do more of these!!!
Will do!! :D
I just started my surgery clerkship and these pimping stories are soooo me. I was asked about a fib and my brain went blank looool
I am definitely learning a lot and the messing up is definitely solidifying a lot.
Happens to EVERY med student 💀 we spend 2 years learning so much just to not be able to remember anything during clerkships. But you’re right, messing up really solidifies it all!
the train of thoughts in this video are hilarious 😂
Our minds just do NOT work sometimes 😂
I laughed throughout this entire video 🤣
I am so glad because that was the goal! 😂
Damn thats funny😂😂 I cant wait for moreee
Glad you thought so! 😋 we will definitely be sharing more stories!
Definitely do not miss pimping as a medical student
😂
Can’t wait to never be pumped ever again 😂
I’m dead with the OR stories 😂😂😂 I always get nervous when they try to have someone take their card lololollll
Wow it's been awhile since we've seen u. Of course we want the good the bad and the mistakes! This was cool u 2 are hysterical. Stay safe. I had covid and it was so bad. 02 24/7. Chewy is so precious. Have a great week !
Hey Sherry! I hope you are well and I am so sorry to hear you had a rough go-around with COVID :( I hope you are feeling better now!
I am a retired RN- YOU GUYS ARE CRACKING ME UP!!!
Congrats on retirement!! 🥳 the nursing staff in the hospital has been one of my biggest crutches during my rotations! You guys are SO helpful to med students! 😊
It’s the reunion I’ve been waiting on 🥳
us too :') we hadn't seen each other in so long before we got together and filmed this!
Hilarious!!! I can relate so much to these stories, especially those sterile field mess-ups in the OR. Till this day they still haunt me LOL
These are honestly the moments that keep me up at night 😂😂
The thing about pimping is if I couldn't get the right answer. I straight up tell them "i'll make this as my assignment" which is so bad because some of the questions were like basic and taught us in medschool. lmao. 🤣
Just hearing the stories gave me anxiety. Lol 😂 I get so nervous it those situations and I’m glad I’m not the only one. Also love that you guys got Dutch and not Starbucks. I’m Dutch bros all the way!
This is amazing LOL I feel like I'm talking to my fellow classmates. need more Shaun+Deepal clerkship debriefs
That’s the exact vibe we were trying to give off 😂 just a casual chitchat and story telling!! More to come for sure! :)
Loved the story time! Happens to the best of medical students haha so much to remember in clerkship. Can’t be expected to not break the sterile field at least once 🙄🤣
I am pretty sure everyone has broken sterile field or at least de-sterilized themselves at least once during surgery clerkships 😂😂 its a right of passage
when I was shadowing a plastic surgeon in undergrad, i got the scrub tech SO mad when I accidentally touched sterile tools. I felt so bad, but I’m glad to know these things are common mistakes 😂
Scrub Techs are the glue that holds the OR together 😂 their main job is to make sure the sterile tools are ready to go! That is why so many of them are so strict when med students are in the room 😂
Watching your vids after a long time, how are you doing Shaun and how's chewy and his friend
Miss you Shaun!
"Omg, you're from India???" 😭😂 Something I would say lol
LOL these stories made me feel so much better about all the stupid stuff I have done haha
GOD I am not looking forward to my surgery rotation lol
lmaooooo we made it sound terrifying in this video 😂😂 but you got this!!
@@ShaunAndersen don’t feel bad or anything!! You’re not the only one who has scared me lol but you’re right I’ll be ok
Love this!!!!
🥳🥳🥳
Idk about you guys but when I get some kind of idiot mistake and i look like a complete fool in front of my teachers, I would NEVER forget the correct answer, learning from trauma 101
Like when I had little time to prepare a class bc i was about to write an exam and said that vitamin D comes from the SUN🤡 idk why i said that but my entire class and teachers laughed at me SO hard that I know every damn thing about Vit D
Hahaha we all make silly mistakes like that when we answer questions 😂 it’s just because we get flustered and then just say something completely wrong even though we know the answer! But you’re right, you NEVER forget the answer ever again after looking like a fool 😂😂😂
I can’t even imagine that, I’m just about to start M2 year and even though rotations are only 8 months away I can’t even imagine getting pimped
Ooooooo you better believe you'll be getting pimped :P
ooooof my surgery rotation starts in august and im pressed hahhaha
You got this buddy! :D learn from our mistakes!!
More stories 😂😂
Fav vlog hahahaha 👍
Yayyyyy that makes me so happy :D
Been there, done that!:p
it's all part of the journey I suppose! 😂
WHERE ARE YOU COME BACKKK
little late but this video was hilarious😂
Great video! 😁
