mattel really flexed their creativity muscles with this release. i still have to get mine but honestly, i'm really confident that snout-spout will be one of my all-time favourite figures (and dare i say, destined for your top 10 video at the end of this year....but i know i shouldn't be getting ahead of myself like that 😅)
i'm really pleased with the articulation, i've said it before but to me, articulation is the most important action feature (at least in regards to masterverse)
i love what they did with the truck, i'm actually here holding my vintage snout-spout toy and his truck is just essentially a rubber tube (yeah....i *know* that's literally what a hose is, a rubber tube !😂 so i guess i can't fault mattel there) but i'm so glad they didn’t go that route here because i mean....it's not he is meant to be filled with water, not like the vintage figure was! lol so the articulated truck is much better for the masterverse figure.
the inclusion of the plastic water spurt, you know, the "pièce de résistance" as you so eloquently put it aj 😉
i really love that, it's a neat little representation of the original figure's signature feature, it reminds me of the little plastic, transparent "fire" thing that came with origins thunder-punch he-man, the thing you put over his fist.
the detachable backpack also reminds me more of thunder-punch he-man than it does the vintage snout-spout figure because on the vintage figure, snout-spout's red backpack was rather flat.
the tubes are superb !
i love how we're given the chance to chose whatever way to put them on
(and i love you aj, for showing us how it's done !)
......even if the idea that the water goes from his backpack straight through his head and out his truck sounds kinda painful low key 😭😂
the pipped eyes are very cool, if i recall, it was YOU who predicted that on the last late night podcast with Emerald Knight, looks like you're prediction was bang on ! 😉
and just as a little aside, i love the fact that snout-spout isn't a heroic warrior but an eternian firefighter.
seeing characters with actually professions in fantasy and sci-fi worlds makes the worlds feel more lived in and realistic.
like, outside of he-man's life and duels with skeletor et al, eternia is a place with people with lives and stories of their own.

I was exactly thinking (but not saying) Top 10 too! 😀 That's awesome that we think so much alike. It would be hard to imagine it doesn’t rank, unless it gets blown away by ten more figures this year. What a great problem that would be to have. We will see what is coming down the pike this Thursday!

I am glad this design has distanced itself from the vintage design too, snout and all. It was something that I (personally) felt they didn't go far enough with the Classics figure, but that's just me. Indeed though, this Masterverse Snout Spout nailed it and is just a dream! 😍

The reason mattle changed the elbow to single joint is because all the reviewers companion how weird the arms look when they're double jointed. I think they should change the neck to the actual double ball peg and change your arms back to double joints they can make the arms even with double joints look better then I did to start with.

Love this review and you’ve become my go-to channel for Masterverse content. I love your enthusiasm for the figures and the art, it’s a great attitude to have when so many other reviews are nothing but gripes.
Snout Spout will be my first full price Masterverse figure. I wasn’t planning to collect this line but I started seeing them clearanced out at target and five below for $5 a pop and I couldn’t resist. Definitely a huge fan of the New Eternia designs. Unfortunately this may become a new addiction!
New Eternia is addictive indeed! since last year most releases became highly appreciated complement pieces to my Origins & vintage counterparts, which are my main focus in MOTU

Great review! Well, fans are really divided over that double elbow joint but I'm just basing my statement on all the YT Motu channels I am subscribed to. Myself, I'm a fan and collector since the '80s but I am on the double elbow joint side of the fanbase. It's kind of like keeping up with the times and for me, articulation is one of the great characteristics of the MV line that separates it from the Vintage, NA, 200x, MOTUC, Origins. Along with its big 7-inch scale, diverse character sizes, body types, easy customization, it is what pulled me back to collecting MOTU again. But maybe, the designers are taking a page out of Todd McFarlane's book for Snout's elbow design? But still, a great figure and one of my all time favorite MOTU characters. Can't wait to finally have mine but since I am not in the US, that will be in the next month or two, unfortunately.
Oh and looking at Pig-Head's loincloth, I really think a Masterverse King Hiss is on its way soon.
Indeed. I know those double jointed elbows are a dream to some, an eyesore to others. Personally I would love to put Snout Spout in a pose with two hands swinging that axe, a tall order especially without that double joints! 🙂
So what has Todd MacFarlane been saying about it? I have several figures of his, but if he has been public about it, I am unfamiliar.
The hose to the back of the head kills head articulation. I snapped it to the backpack. I think the axe should go there. But at least it stores away. The hole on the front of his harness. Not seeing that being used but it’s there if you want it.
I love that we have all these options to mull over. It's a great problem to have! 🙂

Mattel shipped it the same day they started taking orders. It was very surprising!
@@foreterniaofficial Yeah, the couple I’ve gotten have all come within a day or two of ordering. Meanwhile, Hasbro is all over the place.
Mine is coming today! More importantly, what about Ter’roar and Lord Gr’asp? I woke up today to try and order and they were never even available on Walmart’s site. I still have never seen a Mossman or Duplico in the wild. Cleveland here which isn’t exactly the sticks. Any thoughts kind sir?
Same thing happened to me.
Unfortunately a lot of people went through exactly the same thing. The word is they were available for a minute, no longer. So many poor collectors had them in their carts, only to see them sold out before they could complete checkout. It was so disheartening. 😔

Yes! Hopefully the Snake Men is in Mattel's future plans for Masterverse. I can never quite tell if this supplemental artwork is an actual tease or not. Fingers crossed!
I bought this figure, cant wait and I like the single elbow and i do wish that the Masterverse Two bad had single elbow. Awesome review

@@foreterniaofficialI agree it looks cleaner. I’m new to Masterverse but this is also a trend in some Star Wars Black Series and Marvel Legends (going from double elbows and knees to single). I think the rationale is that not every figure NEEDS to be able to get into crazy poses like, for instance, a Spider-Man figure might. I hope at least they will tweak it and add more range of motion with the single joint.
Good review. I can't wait to get mine. I am however disappointed that they made him an exclusive figure at a higher price. He should have been a standard release IMO.
Got mine yesterday..I was really surprised he's a completely new oversized buck and not a reuse of the standard masterverse buck..also with alot of accessories I think it was a really good price for a oversized figure..I hope they use this buck for other oversized figures.
Thanks! Regarding the price point, the $33 is still cheaper than the Deluxe figures offered in previous waves at retail, and considering he is oversized, I'm personally okay with it. 🙂

They completely fucked it for the Origins line collectors with their Mattel Creations exclusives, and now they're doing the same with Masterverse.. Time to give up on Mattel. I sincerely hope their elitist "engineered scarcity" politics will backlash on them.

Think that shipping is back now, at least gone to normal for those in UK- although i could order Rokkon and Snout Spout, couldnt order anyone else but site has reverted to normal now.
I thought they added UK, Germany, Mexico, Italy, and Brazil.

Nobody likes the double jointed elbow arm because they cut the bicep off like the bicep is not round, they have to cut it in half to allow for the double joint. It’s very ugly and disgusting and I really hope from now onwards they just do the single joint so much more aesthetic. Even pixel Dan said he doesn’t like what they did to the bicep on the masters and that’s why the masters figures also ugly I really hope they stick with this new format.
MATTEL HAS NO NAME: its leaders are unworthy of any serious company; The continuous boycott they make of their customers is very annoying and continuous. To buy Snout spout, I had to turn to friends in the USA (with the added expense of double shipping). After excluding 90% of buyers worldwide, Mattel realizes (oh surprise! 🤦🏻♂️) that the figure is not selling because it is impossible to buy ⁉️ (is there anyone in their Commercial Sales Department , capable of thinking?)🤨. And the icing on the cake: after wasting their most loyal customers' time and patience, they open the sale (now) 4 days later! If Mattel continues like this, i wish it would go bankrupt 😡👎🏻
