The thing I love the most about fungus, is it shows how interconnected all of nature is.
It's a great tool when teaching young children science. A few mushroom kits, that can grow fist sized mushrooms in a week, and the kids can even watch it happen (Children are often way too impatient to wait for an entire growing season for vegetables), it fascinates them.
One child even took the substrate block home with her after harvest, and did a few of her own little experiments. She continued misting it with water and take caring of it, until it produced a second and eventually a 3rd crop of mushrooms!
Children are natural scientists, you just have to let them go.

@@reasonsvoice8554 sadly people have over harvest many mushrooms. When I was a kid you could gather a bag full in a couple hours just outside of town, by my teens it took twice as long and you had to hike quiet a distance, by my early 20s a team of us were finding about as much as what 1 person could gather in my childhood and it took longer. The fact that there's rising prices for wild mushrooms and whole sale companies can pay cash to anyone who's willing to sell meant it became a great way for legal and illegal immigrants to make a lot of money in a season so they clear cut forests and year after year go further and further afield.

Here in the UK 🇬🇧 magic mushrooms aren't actually as illegal as most places, especially America (yes Americans, there are other countries in the world 🤭) preparing magic mushrooms is obviously illegal, carrying them is too, but, the loophole? If you consume them where you pick them it's not illegal, unless obviously you take a pan and try boiling them, but if you find them (and they're everywhere around October) and you consume them as you pick them you can't be arrested.
I remember when I was younger there was a well known area for them growing in abundance and the police would drive around watching people to make sure we weren't taking them with us or preparing them properly, it was actually 2 officers who told me about the law regarding it 🤣

I receive regular high dose ketamine infusions over 3 to 4 days every 6 weeks for a chronic pain condition called CRPS Pathogenically rooted in the autonomic small fiber nerve bundle destruction of post EBV/flu induced autoimmune disease.
Last year in April while I was still at the hospital tripping like heckk between the infusion and other antipsycotics to limit the hallucinations, I started to have an extremely strong panic episode at 3am on the last of the infusion. I had this feeling of total earth shaking and heart crumbling around my cat, who was my best friend for the past decade.
I was so hysterical that it got to a point where they made me call my parents at 3am because no sedation would calm me down and I kept trying to get out of the bed.
They thought I was being overdramatic because my late cat best friend display no physical signs of his life ending any time soon and seemed relatively healthy earlier in the day when they stopped in to check on him.
They found him passed away in his sleep, still curled up in his kitty ball that he rolled his body into every night when we would go to sleep for the night. I always said he was my soul mate packaged in a tiny cat body, Having saved my life from septic shock 4 times by freaking out at me, even though I had no awareness of any symptoms yet, myself. He kept me fighting and loving me so strongly and giving me purpose and strength to makenit through times where I thought life wasn't worth living. I would not be alive if it weren't for that baby boy of mine.
My mom believes that he was waiting till I was gone to say goodbye to save me the pain of finding him or watching him suffer. All this to say that I truly know from a personal place that psychedelicss accidentally gave Me that opportunity to say goodbye and have closure with the passing of my soul kitty. I truly believe I would've been destroyed and chaotic towards my own well being if it hadn't been for the letamine infusion being ran at that point.. it's also helped put my severe chronic pain into a better, more manageable position too.

Even when I took a small amount out to do some tests on it, I could see it bubbling away like a carbonated drink. Makes me wonder if it would taste carbonated, but I'm wary of tasting it. Even though it smells pretty good. I don't plan on drinking it per se. I plan on fermenting it further to make it into some crazy and probably inedible vinegar.

From experience and also being in rehabs and I'm just spending a lot of time in the community for over a decade I can say like almost certainty that acid and mushrooms do not fix addiction. They may help quite a bit with the depression and anxiety and other stuff like that which helps with being more capable of curbing drug abuse but the effects are like most things temporary. If we prescribed it even if not daily, even tiny amounts can cause hallucinations and a body high sometimes intense enough to potentially put them in danger when out and about especially if their driving. But most people I see it ended up just being mentally or whatever addicted to that and as soon as they stop taking shrooms or while they're doing them they would go back to using. And be nice if it was an actual fix. Not a temporary cushion.
I'm glad people are looking into these things more though. While not perfect some illegal substances have lots of medicinal potential.

If low elevations, high temperatures and direct sunlight make for lower quality coffees, then why is Kona coffee considered to be a gourmet coffee? It is grown at low elevation, in the tropics and in direct sunlight!

    • @xtremej2575
      @xtremej2575 2 года назад +3

That is likely EXACTLY why it is considered gourmet. It is not the norm, likely leading to a different taste.

I don't think that a change of taste in coffee would be a catastrophe. I think it to be very rare to enjoy the first ever taste of coffee. Though it is addictive, in a other words "an acquired taste"

The ingredient in LSD...? You mean LSD? Also I wouldn't say a mushroom trip is milder than LSD... LSD lasts longer sure but one isn't "stronger" than the other they're just different.
