- With Texas and Oklahoma's official entry into the greatest conference in collegiate athletics just months away, I've taken the liberty of compiling a very basic introductory-level course known as SEC 101.

@@hlarouxIt started because a Texas player made a hand gesture against Texas Tech during a game mocking the finger guns. The player was flagged for that. Opposing players were not flagged for throwing the horns down. The complaining started because other schools weren’t penalized for the horns down, but Texas was penalized for doing the same thing to another school.
It was never about Longhorns caring about the disrespect, it was all about the unfairness with officiating.

The ref thing is pretty accurate. I remember watching two different Bama games; in one the ref tripped a player (about to tackle a Bama player) on the side line. In the other the ref straight up tackled a player (about to rip off a few yards on Bama). "He ran into me." Like, no, you straight up ran down the field and tackled him.
Crap, we were hoping the officiating would be better here.

As a Virgina Tech fan, Im very thankful that the rumors about us going to the SEC when the Big East went bust weren't true. I mean, post Beamer hasn't exactly been fun, but at least those early ACC titles gave me something.

God bless the Auburn vets. They are truly life savers. 💛 But that's the only nice thing I'll say about Auburn unless playing against any team outside of the SEC conference. I'm going to root for the SEC against the other conference teams. 😹👍
I agree with the fact that it is the finest vet school and infirmary in the country. But as an Auburn Alumnus with a degree in Anthropology and a former Tiger Eye instructor, I think it is a shame that you find all the rest of us so objectionable. You seem alright to me! Anyway, Auburn is a good safe place for young people to find themselves, friends and opportunity. I feel like most of the SEC schools are such places. I hope we all excel in this uncertain future!

As horns fan I can assure you 99.2% of us couldn't care less about the horns down sign. It's literally part of what makes gameday hyped.
Okay first off, Rocky Top isn't the only song the band knows how to play. They play a different song every single down that they're on defense. Second, they've got like 65 other songs that they play, Rocky Top is just the one that's played the most because it's our unofficial fight song.

I've spent nearly 20 years with Gary Danielson on Mute almost every Saturday, I can do it once a year for the ou game.
1. U of O sucks. 2. A fan base so dumb they had to have a song w/o lyrics because they'd forget them. 3. Everything about U of O is stolen from some other team (looking at Yale's Boola Boola), Crimson & Cream (howdy Bama). 4. It's the University of Oklahoma so it's U of O (reference 1.) 5. Pokes will hold the title of Bedlam champs for the rest of eternity. :D

Thanks for just keeping it hilarious and bitingly accurate, Matt, without dropping to any ugliness tactics. Not an easy tight walk, but you manage it over and over. And as an Aggie grad and fan, well, it's going to be interesting, assuming we can ever get our stuff in a sock. This year may be pretty rough in the post-Jimbo change-up era, but maybe someday--someday--the college football gods will finally shine down on A&M and allow us to get to the same level as all these other awesome teams with long-running records of winning big. You can't underestimate how much Arkansas fans are excited about having Texas back in the same conference. The SEC has tried for years to create a rivalry between Arkansas and Missouri, but that will all be forgotten now that Texas is arriving.

Sooner fan- I'm excited OU is joining the SEC. Been to so many OU games it's going to be nice having some new traditions coming to Norman, and going to visit them. I don't know what to expect in the first year, I have them going 8-4, maybe 9-3. Getting to 10 wins in a bowl game.

The only time I root for other SEC teams when they are playing Ohio State. Half my family is from Ohio. I've told them for years that if they played my teams schedule, they'd be lucky to get ten wins. (This was before Michigan and Penn St. became good again.) One year my team played the number 1 team in the country three times in six weeks. Meanwhile Ohio State was splattering large high schools and bragging about it. Anyways we don't chant SEC when someone beats Coastal Carolina. Its got to be the big teams. Or like when the SEC eventually gets 8 teams in the 12 team playoff. (You know they day before they expand it to 16 teams)

Being a Texas A&M fan, I can truly say that everything in this video is 100% accurate.
