John Sevier was the victor of King's Mountain, which helped deny the British the western territories. He also fought in the Cherokee War and, when his future wife, Catherine Sherrill, was indavertantly locked out of Fort Caswell, Sevier reached over the stockade to pull her in.
John Carroll's brother and cousin were both siugnatories of the Declaration of Independence. Many schools are named for him, as is John Carroll Society.
Pakenham was outgeneraled at New Orleans, where Old Hickory became an American legend. Emma had an almost ethereal beauty which fueled her rise from maid and actress. Murat inspired American newsmen in their praise of another He-- for leather horseman, Armstrong Custer.

You must have done this episode after your “R&R”(rest and recreation). There are far fewer errors to nag you about. Before I get into specific errors, remember to be vigilant and careful about not omitting the articles ( a, an & the) in your commentaries. They really are important for smooth communication. However, I did notice improvement in this video. Now, the first “ordeal” has to do with the proper nouns, “New Orleans” and “Joachim”. I think I covered these before, but since they’ve come up again, let’s review. The “leans” part of New Orleans is two syllables not one. Instead of “leans”, it’s more like “lee-uns”. The primary accent is on the “OR” syllable. The “leans” pronunciation is used informally in conversation; but the
“lee-uns” pronunciation is as the “legal” pronunciation. It’s definitely the one that should be used for historical context.
The second proper noun is “Joachim”. It’s pronounced, “wah-Keem”. I believe it’s the Hebrew form of the name “Jacob”. Whether it’s given to an American, Frenchman or German, it retains the same pronunciation.
The next three words have come up before, but my nagging didn’t seem to “take hold”. The words are: impact, corps and satirical.
    1. “Impact” is accented on the first syllable 90% of the time, as “IM-pact”. That’s true whether it’s being used as a noun, verb or adjective. The only exception I know of would be in a medical context, such as the word “impacted”. That is pronounced, “im-PAK-tid”.
2.”corps” is pronounced, “core”. The “p” and “s” are silent. It is a military reference. When the “p” and “s” are pronounced, it is the word, “corpse”, meaning a dead body. Don’t feel bad; I heard at least two presidents make this same mistake, even though they were Commanders in Chief of the military.
3.”satirical” is pronounced, “suh-TIER-i-kul”, not “suh-TARE-i-kul”. Both “i’s” have the short vowel sound as in, “bit”, “fit”or “hit”. The root word, “satire” is accented on the first syllable, not the second. It’s “SA-tire”, not “suh-TIRE”
There were five VW errors: “one”, “volcanic”, “wealthiest” “provided” and “work”. I’m guessing you were speaking in your native tongue, while you were away for the trip🤔😉?
I hope you can take all this “abuse” positively and profit from it. I worry that it may be worse than the beatings you said you had to endure as a schoolboy.
NEVER LOSE HEART!!!♥️ What you are doing is appreciated by more and more followers every day.😊❤

Not sure many people are interested in 22 straight minutes of this tedious accounting.

You must be new to the channel. He has been gaining popularity and more followers regularly. IMO, “tedious accounting” occurs far more often in history books where the writers lead us “into the weeds”with needless detail. His bios are concise and limited to only the most salient points. There isn’t any other channel of this genre that has the scope of this one, giving insight into world history year by year.
