• Mild-hybrid six-cylinder in-line engine with double turbocharging and starter-generator

, Mercedes-AMG is sharpening its product portfolio and redefining the entry-level
performance coupé segment. The sporty, elegant two-door model combines the best of two worlds: the agility
and sportiness of the C-Class with the space and status of the E-Class. The 3.0-liter six-cylinder in-line engine
with double charging via an exhaust gas turbocharger and an electric additional compressor has been
thoroughly modified and produces now 330 kW (449 hp). It provides a maximum torque of 560 Nm (with
over-boost of 600 Nm for 12 seconds). The integrated starter generator briefly supplies an additional 17 kW (23 hp) of power and 205 Nm of torque. It also feeds the 48-volt on-board electrical system. Other technical features of the new model include the AMG SPEEDSHIFT TCT 9G transmission and the fully variable AMG Performance 4MATIC+ all-wheel drive.
Typical visual identifying features of a coupé are the long hood embedded in the front end with two powerful power domes. The strongly sloping windshield and the elongated roof that slopes towards the rear also reference this. The passenger cell, which is set far back, leads to the sporty, short rear via the rear window,
which is also flat.

The Mercedes Benz CLE 53 Coupe top speed VMAX is electronically limited to 250 km/h (155 mph) but with the AMG Driver Package 270 km/h (168 mph)

I'm still going to buy the S63 coupe from 2020 but this is niceeee
Was thinking the same, a nice spec of a few year old S63 coupe with like 90k kilometers on it is currently about the same as a fully speced out brand new CLE 53...better sound vs newer technology.
S63 has pretty high maintenance costs though and we know those add up with older used models, don't forget about that, could be annoying.

@@mikefun7482 I‘d say you have to calculate in about 2000 euros per year for the standard service, but on top of that you have to add costs for parts wearing out, new steel breaks for the S63 for example are about 8000 euros, if the carbon-ceramic breaks need to be replaced it’s about 25k Euros, just to name a few examples, so if you’re unlucky and the used car has some issues down the road, costs add up quickly with the S Coupe.

On an AMG 53, you can only get the nice startup sound with the upshift paddel. That's at least how it works on my CLS53...
What year is your CLS? And if you do it with downshift nothing happens?
@gabrielcropano805 It's a 2019 and yes, kt doesn't do anything while pressing the Downshift Paddel. Even in Sport+...
@@TheFattiShow thx, I hope youre right and it works with upshift padel 🙏🏼
@gabrielcropano805 just remember to select Sport+ before starting the engine. It will sound good without you using the upshift. But it will be much louder with upshift engaged. But using downshift will kill the sound completely. At least it's how my 53 behave...

Speaker engine sound.... I let the windows down in my V8-powered 2004 CLK500 (0-100km/h 5.1s), and bought a house with a mountain and ocean view with the left over money.

Apparently per recent (and reliable) reports, the 4cyl 63 has been axed and it will be a v8 instead.

It’s a 4 pot with electrification producing 680bhp, no V8.

@@juliphililp7904 If they do price wise for UK maker it must over £140k, the GT is sitting at £170k and the CLE 53 is about £90 full speck, just think it would be expensive compared to the 53 with a V6.

how does this interior of many screens and shiny surfaces age ? I would much rather go for the Porsches and with much of leather and minimalistic screens
0-100 real test 3.8 is very fast of Old or old 63 but I like more 43es 63 es and V6 looks luxury daily.

It’s good looking and I’m sure it’s frighteningly fast but after driving a c43 convertible with the turbo v6 this engine sounds awful 😭 that v6 is just fantastic. The upshifts in sport+ sound like rifle shots lmao

Nothing is more boring than almost an entire video from the behind the steering wheel. That shows us next to nothing. Rolling footage of the car is the best. Look at Remove Before Race as an example on how it's done right.

i hate that this car looks literally identical on the interior as my moms c300e. I hate that all new mercedes cars are a copy of the same interior.
This is an awkward looking car. The rear looks good by itself, but then when you see the side view of the car, the rear doesn't look good, and doesn't flow with the rest of the car. This car just doesn't look right.
