Can someone tell me what the light that points at the ground in front of the front left tyre is and what it is used for? I coud imagine it is used to measure ground speed like a computer mouse or something but i don't know. You can see it at 0:32, 0:49, 1:04, 1:19 and very good at 2:04 basically i can't stop noticing it now.

My guess is that rally hasn't started because WRC can't really have any control over it's fans in terms of seating, social distancing, mask wearing etc. Unlike F1 and MotoGP, etc, which can just close venues WRC doesn't have that luxury.
