From a rage comics channel, to a Top 10 lists channel, and finally to a professional-level, high-production value documentaries channel. A well deserved 5 million subs
Yes!! Personally I would watch the whole video in one go a few times and come back to it by letting it play in the background when I'm doing something else(I love having things play in the background when I'm doing things, music works too but sometimes I just want to watch(hear) videos). Long video is just perfect for this since I don't have to always be distracted by the video ending and having to choose another video every 5 minutes.
sadly, youtube is unlikely to regulate these reaction vids because they get TONS of traffic and feed into their algorithm nicely. kids are also too uninformed to know any better when it comes to low quality garbage like xqc. is the platform being driven by a mindless blackbox algorithm, or is the algorithm being trained by clueless kids and their unscrupulous click-chasing idols? or perhaps it's a sinister endless loop, feedbacking into each other... to the detriment of the og users?
They take it for granted, since they haven't experienced any major consequences for doing so. It's also more baffling that the sensible reaction channels that follow fair use get viewers that just complain about "why the video isn't being displayed in full" on-screen. So they just hop onto another channel that does.
The thing I still can't wrap my head around is the people who defend it, like you are literally begging (via requests or whatever) and paying (sometimes directly) someone to watch a video for you!
Your Jack the Ripper video is one of my favorites. I’ve rewatched it several times and showed other people. It’s really just one of the best Ripper documentaries I’ve seen.
Would it be ironic if XQC reuploads this entire video on his channel as "Reactions to ..." where he says "chat chat chat lloo loo look at this" and eats McDonald the entire time?
I understand lemmio's reasons on why he doesnt want people reacting to his videos through and through with no permission, i also think its very scummy to do so. But i dont think i would have found this channel years back without moistcritical reacting, since then iv watched every single video he has uploaded here, and have repeated them many times before bed. I do hope youtube can find a middle ground where both parties can 'profit' from content like this
Finding Top 10 Memes as a kid and seeing the channel change direction to more serious topics as I grew up kept me perpetually looking forward to his new content. Its funny how well this channel grew with its audience.
Man I missed him doing a Top 10 Video about doing summaries regarding notable events of the entire year every year, and ends it with a good note (like space or general science advancement stuff) and not gloomy events.
It's really amazing to see him growing up. I found his channel in my teenage years, learning more about the internet memes, and what not. And now his channel is one of the few on RUclips that is the pure definition of quality over quantity. The wait between videos can be imense for people, but you can get two things out of this: - You already know that his videos are very, very well made, so it justifies the imense wait. - But when the video is finally uploaded, it's a really amazing feeling, you know it's going to be amazing to watch.
Yall gotta realize Lemmino normally takes 6-8 months to make a video, he’s not gone or missing or retired or whatever, he just makes high quality videos, he makes it all by himself, quality > quantity

It's werid that I can actually say you were kind of a part of my childhood... I'm glad to still see you doing well. I can't believe it's been 9 years... back in 2014. That's just insane.
Glad to hear Lemmino's stance on Reaction Channels. At the very least, RUclipsrs should split the revenue with the original creator of the video. Most big RUclipsrs just react because it's "easy" content to make, if that's the case, then split the revenue, with the creator that took YEARS to create the content you're reacting to.
Whenever a RUclipsr uses content from another RUclipsr's video in theirs, the original creator has the option to claim all revenue from that video if they want to. A lot choose not to, but it's still there as an option
That would be unnecessarily difficult to have every single reactor contact each channel and wait for a response, banking info, proof of revenue, and most importantly it isn't very secure and adds lots of areas of abuse for people who wanna take advantage of it. It really is as simple as Twitch adding a RUclips playback feature for viewers that would automatically match their timestamp with where the streamers at, that way each viewer would technically still be watching the youtube video, watching ads and causing the original content creator to get paid for it. It wouldnt really be too dificult either, we already have the option to embed RUclips videos so I'm not sure as to why they haven't done this already.
Would a person who watched the original video and then watched a reaction to that video, have watched the original video twice if the reaction video was not available? Is it possible that some reaction content increases publicity and awareness for the original and drives people to the original source who otherwise would have never watched the original, thus increasing views on the original video, which would not be there if the reaction content did not exist? Do people tend to make reaction videos for obscure content, or do they tend to make reaction videos for hugely successful videos that already have millions of views? So how much are reaction videos really taking away from the original? Maybe without the reaction videos there would actually be less views on the original? It seems difficult to quantify precisely. I think a reaction video is not always a replacement for the original. In the case of this channel, I can't imagine wanting to watch a reaction if I hadn't already watched the original (in fact, I didn't watch any reactions, but I saw them recommended).
The fact there might possibly be a Denmark joke that nobody found yet is both amazing and hilarious at the same time. We need to go on a easter egg hunt to find it. Edit: I'm seeing some miscommunication, I'm talking about the JFK video, not this video! Thanks for the timestamp though!

@767corp not all reaction channels are just reactions some of them are ran by historians or teachers and it's interesting to get additional perspective.
@767corp That line of thinking doesn't help the situation at all. You can blame who you call "idiots" all you want, all that's going to do is create meaningless internet "drama" and give the reaction channels even more exposure than they usually do. The problem is the theft of content, the ones stealing content are where the problem arises in the first place (or the fact that they don't feel undeterred to do so in any way). So that is what has to be fixed.
I think I speak for everyone, when I say that your videos are one of the best things to have ever happened to RUclips. I've watched all of your documentaries numerous times, to the point where I can narrate some of them along with you in my head. Even though I've seen them so many times, the storytelling, the visuals, the audio and the overall quality make me come back to them all the time, especially on long, late-night drives. Every new video is a reason to celebrate, and we will keep watching you as long as you're here! Congratulations on another incredible milestone! 🎉
Yeah, maybe don't say "it's just a number" in any scenario xD. Either you devalue something which someone else as attachment too, or you devalue something which then besmuthers factual truth.
The way he talks just keeps getting more and more serious...i remember he used to crack so many jokes before....it is like we are witnessing him grow up
I think hes not danish - the subtle "I still dont know if they were supposed to be drunk OR danish" hints a swedish or norwegian background. Danish are in the pecking order the lowest of all scandinavian countries (Norway -> Sweden -> Danmark and the finnish are the weird uncles that dont talk much). I think in the Cicada documentary he says he is in Norway.
Congrats on the milestone. You deserve every bit of credit. Your documentary-style videos are often way better documentaries than actual documentaries produced by major production companies on the same topics.
The fact that I started watching your channel when I got out of high school (9 years ago, Jesus Christ I’m old) with the TF2 vid and seeing how far you’ve come is just wild to me. Highly deserved 5 mil. One of my all time favorite RUclipsrs period.
I’m very happy you addressed the reaction content issue, because there are many channels who are terrified of speaking out about this topic, especially ones who are reacted to as often as you are in the exploitative unedited Twitch format.
There's a major difference though between XQC and someone like Vlogging Through History (his thumbnail is in the video). XQC adds litterally nothing, essentially reuploading the content. VTH on the otherhand is a professional historian that actually analyzes the videos he watches with a lot of pauses in between giving his feedback. One type of reaction is stealing, the other is tranformative in nature.
@@a.wenger3964 If you are watching Lord of the Rings and you have a friend next to you who is an expert in the lore, and will pause the movie and give you movie insight or things skipped from the book, at no point does that transform the movie in a legal or colloquial sense. You wouldn't think that guy deserves to reupload Lord of the Rings to give his expert insight. YTH is a guy who reuploads other people's videos rather than making them himself because he wants more growth and revenue, that is it. If he is an expert, he can make his own videos. He would rather have most of his channel be reuploads though because it is far easier to reupload than to create. People who hold the view you do have never seen how much work is involved in making something high-production, and therefore view a 20 minute pause-fest and giving off-the-cuff remarks, as somehow comparable. The market for online media is finite, there are only so many people who can watch so many videos. VTH's goal is to have as many people watch him, for as long as possible, rather than watch other people. If that was not the case, he'd be more interested in creation than reuploading other people's creative works with himself in the corner. If he has insight into a topic, he can make a video about it.
@@DarkViperAU it certainly is tranformative in a legal sense. Legal Eagle explains much better, but providing criticism and commetary all fall under fair use. You may not like it, but what VTH does is very much transformative.
12:49 absolutely knew you were going to say this. this is by far my favorite video from you and hearing the stories of the pilots is what really made me perk up. it’s such a fascinating mystery that anyone who hears it will have full attention on witness reports
I visited Dallas recently for a convention, and I had your video in my mind while passing the depository. It was really captivating, with the 3d models, narrative structure, and of course your voice. I’ve been watching your stuff for about 7 years, at least since Dyatlov Pass, and I’m always excited to see your next video.
Been watching you since the top 10 memes era. I've never seen a channel evolve like this. Even more incredible, I've never seen a person evolve to this extent. Just comparing your style and even your english in your earlier videos you've come an unbelievably long way. Just goes to show hardwork, and passion to spread knowledge motivates you to even perfect a language. Immense respect for you as an individual, can't wait for more videos.
The Man From Earth is INCREDIBLE! I've watched it almost 15 times, every time I started or watch a scene I end up watching it again. So glad you shone a light on it!
I never understood the hype this film received. It is a FANTASTIC script, but a terrible film: very poorly acted and directed. The story is very intriguing but it always puzzles me when people who usually appreciate exceptional filmmaking praise it.
Been rocking with LEMMiNO since the early days of the first space videos. Brings back tremendous memories man. I was 12 then, 21 now. Crazy how time flies! Thank you Lem for all you’ve done!
I really respect how you work on your videos, its clear that there is a lot of effort put in, not just on the content of the video, but the production and the feeling your videos have are done very well, with no detail being overlooked. It feels very clean and professional, this is easily one of the best channels on youtube, and your videos could be considered some of the better documentaries ever
i just wanna say you are such a talented person, truly an artist in every sense of the word. your stories are some of the best i have ever heard and equally are impossible to forget, you deserve this and everything good that comes after this
Congratulations! I started following you when you were still doing the "Top 10 Facts" series, it's a real surprise to see your channel get so much better and get recongnized by so many people, anyways, keep your good content up!
Started watching your channel when I was in 8th grade almost 10 years ago. Loved your space facts videos been watching ever since! I’m really happy you never stopped uploading and that you were not scared of changing up your content
My first video of him i watched was the cicada 3301 when it was just 2-3 days old, what just awed me is that he literally makes his own music, and his production quality has only gone up since. Congratulations of 5.28M subs

I only learned about your JFK video because of the react drama and actually got here from the Legal Eagle video (though I know about it already). Your stuff is so good that I've subscribed now and I'll watch through the rest of the docs as I have time. Keep up the amazing work!
14:35 i am so glad you mentioned Man from Earth. It's my go-to "Favorite" movie as well. It's just such a great concept for a film that has no flashy scenes, just philosophy, conversation, and drama. Beautiful. As for the Victoria recommendation - for those interesting in one cut films, I strongly recommend "One Cut of the Dead." It's a Japanese film about making a film. The only other information i will give is that the first half is confusing, but all questions are answered in the second half. Super fun to rewatch too. Ultimate "trust the process" film.

When it comes to reaction channels, the only one I only really like is Vlogging Through History, since he does take the time to pause the video, and offer valuable insight on that topic. Great guy and hilarious too. XqC on the other hand... no
Big ups lemino. I agree your presentation style and the way you visualize the cases and info is much more informative and entertaining than other channels!
Thank you for the Q&A. The advice about tackling a large or complicated project is well-founded. I write books for a living (history textbooks, mostly) and am often asked the same thing -- and give essentially the same answer. The idea of sitting down and writing a 200,000-word book fills me with anxiety and a sense-of-impending-doom depression. But writing 1,000 words? No problem. Do that every day and you can finish a novel or biography or anything else in less than a year, easily. Congratulations on reaching 5 million. You deserve all the success in the world.
I went to Dallas this year and the Kennedy story and theories fascinated me. It would be awesome if you could to a follow-up video on the Grassy Knoll, a second shooter, popular theories, etc.

He's swedish, but the commenter was probably saying that they're from denmark, and congratulating him from denmark@@warummussmeinnameangegeben6502
Congrats on the milestone. You deserve every bit of credit. Your documentary-style videos are often way better documentaries than actual documentaries produced by major production companies on the same topics.
Thank you
I found this guy's channel from his MH370 documentary, it was so well done. I still come back to it from time to time
The fact that I started watching your channel when I got out of high school (9 years ago, Jesus Christ I’m old) with the TF2 vid and seeing how far you’ve come is just wild to me. Highly deserved 5 mil. One of my all time favorite RUclipsrs period.
YES i have tooo many hours on tf2 and was the first vid i watched from lemino
Same here. Its been a lifetime
You ain't alone feeling old 🤣
Pretty young
TF2 will never die!
Very heartwarming to see so much positivity in your videos/comments. You have really deserved that 5,000,000. Well done! :)
I’m very happy you addressed the reaction content issue, because there are many channels who are terrified of speaking out about this topic, especially ones who are reacted to as often as you are in the exploitative unedited Twitch format.
twitch sucks
@@a.wenger3964I keep xQc keeps doing it, it’s comforting watching it with him and chat
12:49 absolutely knew you were going to say this. this is by far my favorite video from you and hearing the stories of the pilots is what really made me perk up. it’s such a fascinating mystery that anyone who hears it will have full attention on witness reports
Dude, your stuff has been amazing! The wait for episodes is well worth it! you deserve everything! Hope to see you grow even more!
Agreed
Your videos are so high-quality and special that new uploads are an event. I reserve time to watch them in their entirety without distractions.
6:49 This was a really funny part, especially the Danish flag as a warning symbol on the other sign.
Thanks a lot for pointing this out, I just missed it somehow!
@@DocteurZeuhl Not sure if you're being sarcastic
Warning! Danish!
@@counterfeit1148He wasn't being sarcastic
@@Melange2 Thanks for telling me
I visited Dallas recently for a convention, and I had your video in my mind while passing the depository. It was really captivating, with the 3d models, narrative structure, and of course your voice. I’ve been watching your stuff for about 7 years, at least since Dyatlov Pass, and I’m always excited to see your next video.
The quality this channel produces is truly outstanding. Deserves much more than 5 million subscribers.
your visualization is truly encaptivating like nothing ive ever seen before, much love i cant imagine how much hard work you put in bro
Immense respect for you as an individual, can't wait for more videos.
couldnt have said it better
@@JokeswithMitochondria hey mate i was curious about ur name so clicked on ur channel. Such a hiddden gem lmao

The AMOUNT of hours this guy must put on digging and compiling that much information is just amazing. And we only see the surface of it
I really respect how you work on your videos, its clear that there is a lot of effort put in, not just on the content of the video, but the production and the feeling your videos have are done very well, with no detail being overlooked. It feels very clean and professional, this is easily one of the best channels on youtube, and your videos could be considered some of the better documentaries ever
Just Lemmino when you make another vid.
i just wanna say you are such a talented person, truly an artist in every sense of the word. your stories are some of the best i have ever heard and equally are impossible to forget, you deserve this and everything good that comes after this
not bad
A 9/11 documentary would be amazing!
I’m really happy you never stopped uploading and that you were not scared of changing up your content
oh yeah yeah
My first video of him i watched was the cicada 3301 when it was just 2-3 days old, what just awed me is that he literally makes his own music, and his production quality has only gone up since.
Congratulations of 5.28M subs
cicada and jack the ripper have been my favorites so far, your hard work isn’t taken for granted or going unnoticed, we all appreciate it. thank you for keeping us entertained :)
Seeing the evolution of this channel over many years is insane, congrats on everything LEMMiNO! 🥳
I’ve been watching this channel for almost 10 years now, incredible how fast time goes by
Hope you someday cover the contra war especially the CIA involvement in the 80’s id love to see all the information spread out like the JFK vid 😊 have a great day.
Congrats on 5 million, Lemmino! It’s well-deserved! Keep doing what you’re doing and keep doing it at your own pace!
1:42 damn he sounds so disappointed
anyways congratulation for 5 mil subs
Man really spent 2 months to make an awesome Q&A video. Mad respect.
His dedication is truly admirable
Fr also you're literally everywhere
@@danielyaseen I watch a lot of youtubers 😅
yea same, also literally the minute I got this reply, I was watching ur Minecraft on a calculator video! It was great; I subbed!@@AlphaMC
@@danielyaseen That's EPIC bro! I'm just about to upload another vid
Sometimes, doing "Side quests" are more interesting and keep you motivated than doing "Actual quests". This guy definitely knows how to entertain.
Sad to see such high quality documentaries being stolen and reuploaded, don’t worry about it man, and keep up the amazing work!
Congratulations on 5,000,000, I think we can all agree your channel is one of the hallmarks of good youtube content.
there is a millions of channels out there on YT, but just a few competent, intelligent and dedicated creators, you are on that list Lemmino, hope everything going well for you bro, greetings from southamerica.
What list? The list with millions?
Along with Internet Historian, Summoning Salt, Neo, Nexpo, and Defunctland. The kind of videos you carve out an entire night to watch.
You're truly a big part of my childhood, From 2014 to now.. from your space facts to here! couldn't get any better ❤
Congrats on 5M, keep on doing amazing content you do. My favorite ones are always about space.
Been watching since the top 10 video era and it's amazing how well made the recent videos are done.
long form videos are my favourite! i watch them in chunks over several days, because you manage to keep my attention better than most. i am very down for long content above short form, we have too much of that on the internet right now.
I only learned about your JFK video because of the react drama and actually got here from the Legal Eagle video (though I know about it already). Your stuff is so good that I've subscribed now and I'll watch through the rest of the docs as I have time. Keep up the amazing work!
Dina videos är alltid så extremt välgjorda, du borde ha så mycket fler subs egentligen. Keep it up mannen :)
I’m overjoyed to see you’re doing well, and you took the time to make another amazing video, even one as simple as a QnA
5 mil, and still underrated.
I pause whatever it is im doing whenever i see a notification from you.
Always well made videos, always interesting topics.
Still deserves more, you basically paved the way for an entire generation of video essayists
10 years and we still here
I've been a longtime watcher of your content for so many years to where I have no idea when I started so it's been really fun seeing you evolve your style (and humor) in your videos throughout it all!
Nowadays, I'm always looking forward to your next big video and in a way, it almost feels like a new season to a favorite show. It's always fun to see what you cook up next because it always feels like you're trying to elevate each video more than the last. Thanks for all of the hard work you've put in these years!
I remember subscribing when you made the ragecomic-animations and i love how the channel turned out. Im not sure why, but i feel like we matured with you and your content. Anyways congratz on 5 million 🎉 Its well deserved!
- your friend from Norway😊
I like the addition of a Danish flag at 6:56 lol
miss you bro, been watching your content since my sophomore year studying overseas and now i'm back home with a decent job struggling to figure life out but you've come a long way mate
Du är en av mina favorit RUclipsrs utan tevkan. Kvalitén & hur den utvecklats med åren är galen! Grattis!
this channel changed a lot. i was here from the start and i love it.
thank you for what you do
16:00 no leemonio video without making fun of danish people, congratz on 5mil!
Youve genuinely been my favorite channel for years. The raw talent is crazy. What you've made is better than things teams of people make and each video is getting crazier than the last
Congratz Lemmino! Been around since the Top10Memes days. Love the way the channel has grown, you deserve the success. Keep it up!
I have been watching you since I was like 8 years old. Used to stay up under the covers watching your top 10 videos lol. Now I absolutely love your documentary type content and I always watch it right when they come out. It is totally amazing the level of production value and the incredible animation in your vids. Keep it up bro, I will be watching forever
I'm just starting out on RUclips and you and your channel are a big inspiration to me
14:31 I saw that last minute addition of The Last Airbender when listing the highly rated movies 😂😂
The “lol jk” got me
When it comes to reaction channels, the only one I only really like is Vlogging Through History, since he does take the time to pause the video, and offer valuable insight on that topic. Great guy and hilarious too. XqC on the other hand... no
Agreed, been watching him for over a year and is one of two channels I really like that does reaction content, the other being Mr Terry History
Best channel on RUclips by far. Keep killing it LEMMiNO! :)
We need another content from you lemmino.
Big ups lemino. I agree your presentation style and the way you visualize the cases and info is much more informative and entertaining than other channels!
PLEASE PUT OUT A PODCAST!!! I'D LISTEN TO ALL OF THEM, ESPECIALLY BEFORE GOING TO BED
omg yes
Bro I am so glad youve kept your RUclips career going I've been a loooooog time watcher and it's always a pleasure to see an upload from you ❤
Seeing the evolution of your channel has been an amazing journey for us, and for you, thank you so much for the level of quality you put out ❤❤
Imagine each time this man posts. It could take a year or two, but this man, the legend, always deliver.
I really love the documentary style videos, i remember watching your channel for the first time WAAAAY back when i was a kid, oh my god the time flies fast, im hoping you dont "abandon" the documentary videos because i believe theres a lot more engaging topic waiting to be covered and im looking forwart to it, congrats on the 5MIL!
After watching hbomber's video, it makes me appreciate the extreme amount of effort that goes into your videos, specifically regarding the intense citing you do.
Honestly, I dont mind the fact that the videos take a while to come out. Its a sign of good research and video quality. These documentaries are so well done and thorough that the anticipation is half the fun. Well done sir! Truly a case of Quality over Quantity!
Lemmino, Kurzgesagt, and Oversimplified are single handedly carrying RUclips documentaries. Lemmino with the sheer facts and knowledge, Kurz with quick and interesting information and animations, and OS with hilarity and broad topic learning
this guy is so sincere its honestly crazy how he still has 5 million subs. you deserve the world compared to the attention you're currently getting
Honestly your jfk vid helped me write a research paper so thank u
I had to go back when I saw you put Avatar The Last Airbender as one of your favourite films. Well played sir!
