    Agreed, there is little to do right now. Bounties are the only working mechanic.. 30k, limited trade, broken missions. I suppose mining of aUEC but that's kinda dull 50 asteroids in.

    Truth is Stanton fatigue is real. Once you put in so many hundred hours you start feeling the confines of that limited bubble. We need Pyro and other systems online ASAP. The Ark map has to come alive soon teaming with systems built off the Stanton DNA with variation of course.

    I agree, it's a bit bland at the moment.
    I love the idea of combined missions like you are saying. Missions leading to other missions.
    One main thing I want to do is explore meaningfully. If there were Randomly placed objects around a planet that I could crew up a carrack and go find it, or whatever would be fun. The Inventory system they just described recently was incredible! That will make the experience in the game very rewarding.

      CiG or RSi have no dev-time allocated to HAND-CRAFTING EXCITING AND VARIED MISSIONs... I think all their dev-eggs are sitting in the Squadron 42 (single player) basket or the TonyZ (MMO quanta) basket, until the end of time. Sorry.

    I personally am starting to feel the same way as you are. I believe that a lot of the points you brought up or suggested would really bring more life to the game right now. Also, I feel like an even easier way to bring people back is to simply give everyone more ways to make money. If CIG made mercenary jobs, delivery jobs, investigation missions, and all the rest to be maybe not as profitable as but close to Bounty hunting or trading (when it was working) I feel like a lot of people would come back to try things they may have never done because it just wasn't worth doing before. And as a result of giving players more money then it is easier to buy ships like the prospector, a fighter, or even the caterpillar so they can play even more and try all the gameplay loops that were impossible or very difficult to do without certain ships.

  • @Leptospirosi
    @Leptospirosi 3 года назад +2

    Tonight I started doing some Bounty hunting for the first time because I was waiting for my prospector claim to be fulfilled after an accident. 20 min of mindless Pew Pew in my sentinel, point and shoot, 10 seconds max for each Bounties with most of the time used to get from one moon to another around Hurston. 100k in 30 min... Fun and engagement: NONE.
    No skill, no challenge no phisics, no strategy: Its like playing Wing Commander back in the old times.
    I really hope the game experience won't be reduced to that. 😒😒😒

    We all have something to do, test this game that is probably about 15% feature complete. From a developer's perspective, those people who have to bring the other 85% of the game into existence, deepening the game loops and quest lines is more like baby sitting than getting the job done. If it feels like a real game in just two more years, I will be happy but very surprised. Meanwhile, I am happy to mess around with the parts of the 'verse they have brought on line and continue being amazed at the scope of the project just as I have for the past 8 years,

    I did the probe scanners mission twice yesterday and it worked both times. The pay is filthy low tho, so I don't know if it's worth the trip and it's not much different then a box delivery. As I was at Port Olisar I had to EVA to collect it because the probes were in a section of the station which I could not access from where that made me land and when I asked for a landing being VERY close to the pick up marker, the gave it to me but when I landed there I had to pay a fine for "obstructing the pad" (500aUEC on a 2500aUEC mission).

    • @MadrealmMatt
      @MadrealmMatt  3 года назад

      Ya for some reason i tried placing the probes and they just didnt work. I only tried it once tho, and I didnt use the tractor beam, did you?

    • @Leptospirosi
      @Leptospirosi 3 года назад

      @@MadrealmMatt no tractor beam: I went to the marker, EVA with the probe, dropped it there and then activated it. The first time it did not give me the "drop" option so I placed it on top of my ship roof and the activated it there. The probe deployed it's arms and disappeared but the contract was fulfilled.

    I keep encountering this "trade is broken" sentiment, but I actually find it's working just fine. The problem that people are running into is that so many only try to trade the two things that have been reliable commodities to buy for the last few years and quickly find that drop off points don't want the commodity. This is nothing new - medical supplies anyone? The difference between this patch and previous patches is simply that miners are mixing in refined commodities that are now also getting sold at the same locations and those locations are constantly getting filled with several high value commodity types as a result. Meanwhile bexalite, hephaestinite, and quantanium are easy to sell and have good returns.
    Don't get me wrong. Trading _is_ broken in the sense that it is part of a wider dynamic system... that has yet to make it into the PU and once the dynamic economy comes online things will change radically. Supply and demand will create a balance that should iron things out and will hopefully mitigate this problem of overloading the few things that are easy to buy / hard to sell.

    • @MadrealmMatt
      @MadrealmMatt  3 года назад +1

      Trade is definitely broken. The only reason it works for some people, some times, is that no one is doing trade. Back when people were still trying it was impossible to find supply or places to sell. It's in a very similar state to drug smuggling; as long as you're the ONLY person on your server doing it, you might be able to do it.
      I agree that they definitely didnt anticipate how the miners dropping the refined materials off would affect the demand, but it still leaves MUCH to be desired. Hopefully it's as easy as just fixing some data fields and pumping up the demand a bit, since quanta is so far out.

    Totally agree - I haven't been playing that long and now that I have most of the ships I want and after Xeno I find myself not really knowing what to do?! I'm not ready to give up on the game because I was SO excited about it and when I first started it just seemed like the awesomest game in the world! But - I need a reason to do things other than making creds.

  • @MikePhilbin1966

    CiG or RSi have a real problem here... they've spoiled player with these bespoke scripted missions (my favourite was the P.I. Mission with loads of voice-over tapes from 3.0) because they're VERY TIME HUNGRY to produce. Xenothreat actually made certain 3.13 features slip a quarter, or more. Only when TonyZurovec's quanta (financial simulation) comes online will things play a little more like the Advertised MMO Sandbox. Until then, yes, you're waiting. Or playing an interim bespoke scripted mission that's a waste of dev-time. :)

  • @duyhoang5116
    @duyhoang5116 3 года назад +1

    luckily I joined the universe at the time xeno threat happen. It was so fun and cool, I earned alot money after that, so good for beginner. But after xeno, its just nothing. The time before xeno happen some days, there was a mission that I have to kill hostiles and the reward is 20k auec , i ready love this mission, not the bounty. But after that, this mission disappear. Sad. Agree with you that there is no daily event that make you have to find a party to do. No cave or dun to party. And the most important I see in game is there is no rare or expensive items in game to find, to reach out or to research. No technology system to craft something good to sell or trade with other player. That is common with a MMO game. When I look the road map. they just do or plan for piece of the pie and this pie is not important for game. I really love this game. And sure I cant do anything cuz the decision depend on devs. Now I just focus on mining, try to earn enough money to buy all ships and waiting for something good happen in the future of the game of future

    They really need a bigger team for such an ambitious project, I feel as if CR is too afraid to expand his team in a big way because he may fear going bankrupt (out of 300m dollars) -- Bigger teams are needed for such ambitious projects, especially since this game will never really come out and will get constant updates and new content

    • @CitizenChrisOfTheVerse
      @CitizenChrisOfTheVerse 3 года назад

      @@MadrealmMatt to be fair Valheim is alot more simpler in many many ways, models and textures take less than half the time to make for Valheim than for Star Citizen because Valheim is a very low poly game, the lower the vertices / polygons in a game the less resources the game will use causing it to be developed alot quicker with less optimization needed. Texture's are so pixilated in the game it nearly takes zero effort into making them (thats not a bad thing though)

    I think that this is their game and it is trash. They say they are making a game and have showed us nothing. Dude I played this game all weekend coming back after 2 years nothing has really changed. Outside of stations and citys it's just barren landscape...nothing great to see. You die or blow up get stuck randomly. If they were making such a great game then why is the alpha nearly unplayable.
