thanh mai this entire album was pretty good honestly. They just never got the proper air play. Too bad. I mean look at New Order, one of the best (THE BEST) bands from that era. They didn't even get a lot of radio play.
Matty S you apparently have never been in the kink studio. It is a very small, seated studio, about 70 seats. The performance is recorded live, no moving about the room.
This is my ringtone. Yesterday whilst in a bookies in Colchester it went off, a guy came over and asked to hear it again. He then introduced himself as the original drumer of Modern English 👍
Richard brown hes always in Colchester he lives in Kelvedon a real nice fella a good friend of mine 🙂 I bet he was with a fella called Phil aka cosmic a real character 🙂👍👍
My husband's and my song! 37 years dating and going on 34 married! We've been through so much together. When the trials are overwhelming, I put this on, and remember, we'll get through this together.
Every single musician in this performance is a joy to watch and listen to. The drums slap, the song and melody are perfect, the bass groves, both guitars do perfect rhythm and lead, they keyboards are classic. They seem to really enjoy the song and playing it together. The mix and production are S tier.
This has been our song for 29 years of marriage and counting, whenever one of us has heard it while apart we have texted the other immediately without fail .
The lock down version of this song is a blast. They all look like they are having so much fun. Seem like a great bunch of guys. Such a great song from my youth.
This video proves we may be getting older but the music lasts forever and these guys looks so happy and comfortable preforming. This may be GenX music but this boomer loves this band.
This is a wonderful relatively recent original performance of a song from 1982. I rediscovered the song on radio during Christmas 2016 while traveling. As a traditionalist, I did not appreciate the New Age’s fashion antics at the time, but I did love rock and roll. And this was a perfect example. Music transcends culture. Listeners benefit by ignoring the various coverings of the performers and just listening. The truism is you can’t judge a book by its cover. These guys are hard-working professionals.
My brother was tight with a Philly band called Witness, they opened up for Modern English, at a club in NYC called the Trax, at end of the show Mick Jagger, showed up. 😛😛😛😛
I was maybe 12 and a beautiful 1980s hip gal played this song on the juke. I was hooked ever since! This song and the Valley girl pair nicely All through my years of mohawks and metalhead hair.
These guys rule. And this is my favorite song from them. Man do I wish I was born in the 70s or 60s so I can experience the 80s. Long live the 80s man. I especially like that they still rock after all this time. I wonder how old they are. You look them up and you can't find a DOB or an age.
Saw them live in New Orleans in 1990 at a music club. Hit stuffy night big crowd no ventilation.... Probably the hottest place they ever played. I bet they remember that night!
So goood :) My band Rudely Interrupted covered this song, paid our royalties n released it. The bands members live with disability, we’ve toured internationally 14 times including a United Nations performance in NYC. Love this song. Valley Girl fan too
Since Rock came into being there has been certain songs that encapsulate a decade. Rock around the clock for the 50's, Are you going to San Francisco in the 60's, Staying alive in the 70's and this song for the 80's. Whenever you hear any of these songs you immediately think of the decade they represented and no 80's song better defined the decade that this one.
I feel so bad for this great band. they deserve better than this sleeping crowd!!!!!!! this was one of the best songs of the 80s!!!
you so right .. no one rushing the stage and dancing uncontrollable.. I know I would

these are middle aged people not teens.
Necro post. lol but they are enjoying the music now... even more than in their teens

One of the best songs of the 1980s. The lead singer's voice has held up pretty well over time.
