    I love it the most beautiful part is the blue in the beginning and then the really deep yellowish Orange for the first 90 seconds before they just burst a light that's my favorite part

    The faulty ignitor probably has a bad solder joint. It can be easily fixed with a soldering iron if it isn't potted.

    That looks pretty cool! I like the 35 watt wall pack and the fixture in the corner are the best in my opinion!

    @sodiumvapor13 That fixture was taken apart and made into the 70watt HPS ballast box that I made.

  • @sodiumvapor13

    Is the 70 watt regent fixture there? I didn't see it..

    Take that igniter apart and try to fix it. I'd like to see how they work.
    Does it work better when the fixture is upright?
    Are some lamps made to burn vertically?
    Photocell turned off light?

    The photo cell is detecting the light from the fixtures that’s why the lights are turning off

    The one that shuts off about 2:15 seconds in; mine is doing that all the time now... on/off, off/off, on/off, all night long. I've changed bulbs in the past which seems to remedy the problem for awhile but at $20.00 a pop, it's not that far removed from the price of a whole new fixture.
    Bulb, ballast, fixture, ignitor or ??? What's the likely cause?

    • @ALT-9167
      @ALT-9167 3 года назад

      Probably the photocontrol cell

  • @Parrot175
    @Parrot175  13 лет назад +1

    @daluke61 The photo cell on the fixture that shut off was not covered to light got to it and shut off the fixture... For your fixtures problem I think it could be two things. One, the bulbs are junk (which they all are, not just the ones you are buying) or two, the ignitor is bad. I would try a new ignitor, and when a bulb burns out try a different company like Philips, GE or Sylvania. Hope this helps, if you still have questions just ask!

      HPS should not have a bright blue startup it should be a dim white startup on brand new lights only old (I don’t mean like vintage) I mean like it was used a lot ones do that because I don’t know. New HPS lights tend to startup deep Orange and turns this color in the video. And they will cycle after a few years. Or it’s a generic junk bulb. THIS IS COMMON FOR NEMA HEADS TO HAVE BLUE STARTUPS.

    mine has done that too on and off and on and off was because i had other lights on because it was just sitting on a shelf turned on in the basement with flurescnet fixtures so it told the photocell to turn it off and then it would thnk its dark and come back on so i turned all the lights off and it worked just fine untell it got to bright and it was reflected off the wall shutting it off. so iwould made sure lights being reflected into the photocell

      Parrot175, can you run a 250 watt mercury vapor bulb on a 250 watt high pressure sodium balst?

    • @khalidhebshi5318
      @khalidhebshi5318 4 года назад +1

      Mr. Mercury Vapir No, Because Mercury Vapor lamps don’t need an Ignitor start up, High Pressure Sodium lamps do need an Ignitor. and Ballasts designed for Mercury Vapor output different Voltages than Ballasts designed for High Pressure Sodium
