Good question but in all seriousness... I believe it's pretty normal for animated shows to just last one season AKA not be renewed. A second season was never planned during the season 1 production because of many factors. One of them being budgetary and fanancial reasons, another being a transition in the streaming and linear TV market at the time. Disney XD channels were falling like flies all over Europe in the few years after Space Chickens premiered in 2017 - because, of course, Disney+ was about to launch in 2019. Because of this, viewership and interest in general wasn't as explosive as it could be, to say the least. It was just bad timing. And uuummmmm maybe it was my fault too cause I left to travel to Australia right after season 1 production wrapped. The children's animation industry is a very passion-driven and dynamic place
Yes I think back to our short trip to Melbourne back in Dec 2018, remember feeling so welcome by you animators. So much fun working on a huge colorful project together across 67 continents lol
