It actually makes sense that she did not cry when seeing her children, she never saw them, so seeing them for the first time kind of makes them feel like strangers. She needs to get used to them.
Vegan Jack Bauer I’m one year away from the comment but it makes sense, same thing when you see someone online, no matter how much do you love them, you wouldn’t actually cry, it’ll look like a happy welcom instead
I’ve seen 2 guys who have tried to explain their own experience with seeing for the first time with the help of these glasses. It’s like their brain is still trying to get used to receiving a full visual stimuli after years of receiving little stimuli. It’s almost like when you’re in the dark and somebody switches the light on all of a sudden and you involuntarily squint because it’s too much for your eyes to take. At this moment, her brain is receiving “too much” stimuli and is still figuring out how to make sense of the new sensory information. In truth nobody could possibly understand what this feels like internally unless you had experienced blindness yourself. The 2 guys I’ve mentioned even struggled to find the exact words to describe what was taking place inside them. I expect with time, they will be able to adapt to this new way of seeing.
Actually when I first saw someone clearly that I fell in love with online, I was blown away with how beautiful he was in person. And he wasn't even especially attractive. I just loved him so he looked amazing to me

I see so many dumb people in the comment section. Let's talk about all of the catigories I've seen by now: At first, I noticed that many people are calling her emontionless or heartless because, as we can see, she didn't cry. Deanna Gonzales I think people believe it was a negative comment I made. I meant that it gives her a landmark on her face that she can feel easily and makes her face sensorily different and more hers.
As Heather described to her children, she has actually been seeing them whole time. Her brain has constructed the reality in which she sees, she has been able to construct the images of her family, of trees of her home, in her mind. Putting those glasses on and seeing her children for the 'first time' took her a moment to catch up with HOW reality actually looks like - as she has been seeing her children faces in her own reality for a very long time. Giving her the gift of sight has just made her now see the PHYSICAL selves, she has seen and known her children and her mother her whole life.
ALHAMDULILLAH, ALLAH has given me such a wonderful gift of capability of seeing everything . I m grateful to my LORD after watching it. becoz we always complain about what we don't have, but hardly bing grateful to the LORD for what we have.

This can happen when your brain does not know how to deal with the situation. Also she has learned to be tough throughout life, it may take a while for emotions to pass through.
If I found out I had that, I would make sure I was allowed, and bring all of my friends and family so close and study their amazing faces. I'd make my dad drive me to Scunthorpe to go see Alex for the first time in two years and memorize her.
She is just more formal in front of strangers. She kept staring at her girls and called them beautiful. She didn't discard them. Once the cameras and strangers are gone I am sure the tears and hugs will be numerous. She is obviously a good mom.

Wonderful video and what a very articulate, calm lady Heather is. This year I had both my cataracts done which gave me the sight back that I had as a young man, that has no comparison though with Heathers story, she seems such a good mum. I am so pleased for her.
Blind? She looks on the detail of the glasses, look in the eyes of the doctor and looks on the details of the controller before she put on the goggle. She is not blind. How is it to see you daughters the first time he asked? She said: they are so grown up. That is not the response of a mother who see her children for the first time!!!!
She can know were are the objects are by producing sound or if that object produce sound ... I meet some blind people .. I really wish them an easier life Edit : idk about the mother with the children .. Lol
she is so used to hearing and smelling she knows if a docter looks at her or says something although it does still kind of look fake as she is looking at specific details on people
This was so great. I am so happy for her. She have tree beautiful children she saw for the first time. This was GREAT. And that the glasses or whatever they calls it is her to take home. Love this video.
I am happy she can see and I hope the technology would progress and make these glasses look normal and she could carry them all the time if she wants🤲🏻

Nathan ahing Right. Same here. I was expecting her to be speechless, crying. Very joyed.
Nunya She was.In the inside
Yes
This can happen when your brain does not know how to deal with the situation. Also she has learned to be tough throughout life, it may take a while for emotions to pass through.
Nathan ahing I would of been crying teers of joy!!!!!!!
Heather La Forge is an awesome woman. I wish her and her family all the best.
I love it. A situation orchestrated to make someone cry. And they just smiles and laugh. Manufactured emotion beat by humanity.
This is truly amazing. Wowww. Happy for Heather!!!
If I found out I had that, I would make sure I was allowed, and bring all of my friends and family so close and study their amazing faces. I'd make my dad drive me to Scunthorpe to go see Alex for the first time in two years and memorize her.
I am surprised she sort of disguarded her girls. She didn't even get upset when seeing them for the first time. I would of been in tears.
She is just more formal in front of strangers. She kept staring at her girls and called them beautiful. She didn't discard them. Once the cameras and strangers are gone I am sure the tears and hugs will be numerous. She is obviously a good mom.
Hard enough to raise a kid as a single mum let alone being blind and raising 3 children, amen what a woman full respect
17:40 they blink at the same time XP
This whole video is so cute I am so happy
I:am very happy for her to see finally her children
I'm so sorry heather but I'm happy for you that you finally got to see the faces of your beautiful children
She is such a wonderful mother even though she is blind.
Some people are blind too don't worry such a a pretty woman
She can see. But very blurry.(legally blind)
Why y people hate her.
Did you want to see her cry in those machine. On her head. And made it broken.
Indera Atma W. Correction:
She can see, but her sight is very blurry. (Legally blind)
Why are people hating her?
Did you want to see her cry with the device on her head? They would break.
You’re welcome. Next time, check your grammar. If you are foreign, then I get it, it’s fine, ignore me.
@@nataliemycka3062 are you dumb or something you're correcting grammar in comment section , everyone does not has English as a first language , you don't have to act like a teacher .

In the first minute I already started crying!
In class, I’m actually having trouble seeing the board and the tv. When I copy of my friends they tell me to get glasses, so I try on their glasses and my eyes just hurt and the sight is more worse. My parents don’t believe that I’m struggling with sight so they just blame my ipad.
Why don't you tell a teacher or tell a school nurse If you have one
OMG SAME ALL MY CLASSMATES SAID TO GET GLASSES
BUT MY TEACHER DIDNT NOTICE IM COPYING THE WRITING'S ON THE BOARD
AND my parents BLAME My Phone and tablet
Why you dont go to doctor ? You learn there what you have. i go there for test and guess what i 've were glass know
Well Oof?

She is so very overwhelmed with this, anyone Who's disappointed that she didn't break down into tears,Shame on you!!I read those comments,I am shocked by the callous nature of them!!Shameful.
I love how her teenage daughters are very helpful and don't go partying out with friends.
BRUH THE GUY IS SO AWKWARD
Riight, he's like a human bot x when he was speaking, I was always 'don't say it, we know it, you don't hav...' ThiS iS LiFe. LIvE
tears crawled down my eyes when i saw this
Wonderful video and what a very articulate, calm lady Heather is.
That is not the response of a mother who see her children for the first time!!!!
nylezzz I realise that too and I it is at14:51
This was my first thought. She might be in shock cause of the emotions. But I really don't know if this is fake or not T--T
She can know were are the objects are by producing sound or if that object produce sound ... I meet some blind people .. I really wish them an easier life
Edit : idk about the mother with the children .. Lol
she is so used to hearing and smelling she knows if a docter looks at her or says something although it does still kind of look fake as she is looking at specific details on people
wait .. i see what you mean on 13:56
she's barely surprised
Karolyn Gordon ikr
Karolyn Gordon ikr
Karolyn Gordon she is
Karolyn Gordon she just: shiiit those ugly
She can't cry with the things on.
Bless her.! What a lovely lady !
How did she have her children blind
Wow she is a REAL hero
She fougt through her disease

*_Me on every single math question ever_*
Appreciate what you have because some people are less fortunate. Please be kind to those who need it the most.
This is wonderful.
At least at bedtime when she takes them off
her children can still see Mammy's
beautiful eyes 💖👁️ 👁️💖
Merry CHRISTmas!!

Oh my god. She has such beautiful daughters! Sorry I just had to say it.
I just love how she, still... i dont know supportive motber even if she can't see... I really appreciate it
At 10:12 she grabbed the bag off the counter by the handles and after walks out the door unassisted. What??????????????????
She has been living like that for 30 years she probs just uses sounds like when the bag was put on the counter or she listens to the laddie working there idk
She must have felt about before the camra went on
She can see but the sight is blurry not all gone
She is legally blind! Which means she can see 99%...like little blobs so...no suprise
YOURE SO RIGHT!
her eye brows ....i thought she ll get emotional but huhhh😞
she is emotional on the inside. She said she was speechless, not that she didn't have emotions. People sometimes don't show emotions when such an amazing thing has happened to you NOTE THAT
kpop bacteria its fake blind people don't blink blinking unstresses your eyes so why do u need to blink if your blind.
Blind people blink, just because she doesn't see doesn't mean that her eyes magically don't lose moisture and that dust doesn't land on them.
Of course they blink... How would they keep their eyes watered? And she is legally blind.. Which means she can still see light or dark and certain shades.
If he didn't reply 2 weeks ago then he most likely wont reply to you now either.
i crying i will look at my life a whole different angle forever
All along I thought she's not blind and after reading the comments am so convinced that she's not
