  • Do we get judged immediately or wait until the second coming of Jesus? What about soul sleep? Ryan takes a look at what the Bible says about what happens straight after we die.

    Personally, I believe in soul sleep. There is a massive amount of verses in both old and new testament that appear much more consistent with such idea.
    Either way, as a fellow Christian, the end result is the same 🙂

    I liked this video, very informative. But I had a thought that if we are judged after we are in heaven or hell, then doesn’t that mean we already know how God will judge us? So my question would be, why then is there a judgment day based on that thinking? I’ll probably have to do more research on this topic because this video really opened my mind to a new way of thinking about where we go right when we die.

      Judgement day is to show us how sinful we are which makes us so much more grateful that Jesus saved us, also on judgement day God puts us in our eternal places, heaven for believers and hell for unbelievers, the devil and his angels will be thrown into hell on judgement day as well.

      good question, there is a day of reckoning where God will repay each to every person that is due to them. hell right now is just a holding place with a punishment included until that day and heaven is just a resting place with God until that day. but those in Christ will not receive what wrath of God is due to them because Jesus took it on the cross.
      Praise God!

    When people die they go to Sheol or in Greek it's called Hades. Hades has two areas as referenced in Luke 16:19-24. Paradise, also called Abraham's bosom, is for the righteous, and for the unrighteous there's a place of torment or hell ("tartarus" in the Greek, 2 Peter 2:4). When Jesus died he went to Paradise (so did the thief on the cross). Jesus proclaimed victory to the spirits imprisoned (1 Peter 3:19), rose from the dead, appeared on earth then ascended to Heaven. Before going to heaven he told Mary "do not touch me for I am not yet ascended to the Father" (John 20:17). At the rapture ("harpazo" in Greek means snatch away) the dead in Christ currently in Paradise will rise first (1 Thes 4:13-17) and later Hell/Tartarus which holds those who reject Christ and the fallen angels (2 Peter 2:4) will be cast into the Lake of Fire (Rev 20:14). This is the Great White Throne judgement. It's a judgement for those whose names are not written in the book of life.

    Paul saw death as the necessary bridge to take him to a perfect eternity with Christ. Note that in the verses you quoted, he never said that transition was immediate. Paul never stated that to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. Rather, he stated that he would rather be absent from this body and present with the Lord (immediate transition not listed). Someone could say, i would rather leave my job and be home with my dog, but that transition is not instantaneous.
    Death is not an instant in time, but rather a state of being that can be entered in an instant. Christians throughout history have longed for the resurrection, because it is when we be freed from death and enter into a new perfect life for all eternity if we are in the Book of Life.
    This is why Easter is so meaningful. God has the power to physically conquer death, and was the first fruit of the resurrection (1 Cor 15: 20-23).
    Edit: If you want a more detailed argument against your application of each verse, let me know.

    I studied with JWs for 3 years and I believed everything they told me up until I began to question their teachings versus me reading thr abible for myself. I noticed that as they were teaching soul sleep and hell not being eternal, I realized the Bible said the complete opposite. This lead me to leave JW l as they failed to make any sense from their teachings they didn't aline with the God's word.

    every depiction I've seen of Judgment Day shows a long line of souls waiting to be judged. Is that what it's going to be like? Will we have to wait a long time to be judged when that day comes? I can't find anything that talks about this

    can you explain free will and how we have it even though our life is pre determined?

    • @emmakai8429
      @emmakai8429 Месяц назад

      I'll do my best to explain he gives us free will because he wants it to be fully your choice wether to believe love and accept him. Because he doesn't want to force us to love him because that would not truly be love. And if we don't want to believe love or accept him he says ok. And when you go to hell you will be fully separated from him. God is a gentleman he knocks on your door offering his hand and is our choice/free will wether or not to open the door and take his hand he will not force you. I hope this helps. ❤

      Ask a kid if they would like a piece of candy. You know they will say yes, but you did not make them say yes. The kid has free will. God knows all including the future, but He does not make us do anything.

    So how does this relate to things like ghosts and purgatory? My grandfather had an experience 30 years ago when he was shopping and was waiting in line and his grandfather was in line with him and they had a full on conversation then parted ways, I should also mention he had been dead for awhile lol. So assuming my grandpa wasn’t hallucinating what could be the religious explanation for this? A demon posing? Or maybe God allowing him to speak to my grandfather just for the heck of it?

      Purgatory is not in scripture, it's a false teaching and ghosts are demons.

    can catholics go to heaven ? ( they believe in the virgin mary and jesus christ)

      If they 100% trust Jesus paid for the punishment they deserve, then yes they will be in heaven

    • @HerManyJoysss
      @HerManyJoysss 4 месяца назад +7

      Like what @Oratilwe-FBI said, it is trusting alone in Jesus, what He did on the cross as the only reason you are going to heaven, according to the Bible, the way to heaven is not based on what we do for God, but on what he has done for us. Trust you will go to heaven only because Jesus died for you.
      the catholic church teaches the way to heaven is through faith, baptism & keeping God's laws. But Bible says it's by faith as a gift, not by works (Eph 2:8-9). So best to believe the Bible. some catholics may go to heaven, but it is only if they are trusting alone in Jesus as their reason for going there.
      hope this helps ^.^

    This should be good considering we have no evedince that souls exist and the evdince we do have is that there is not an external unseen undetetable force interacting with our physical brain. So where did you get your source meterial from. And okease dont say hear say. Fornthe love of your none demonstrated god.
