  • Hi Folks a short while ago we were asked to make an honest video of the contents in the caravan when we tow. So here it is. Thanks Phil.

    We had a twin bed caravan and used to lay the clothes, already on hangers, on each bed as the wardrobe was in the end washroom. As soon as we arrived on site we hung the clothes up. Aquaroll and wastemaster used to be wedged over the axle in the caravan. Awning and food in the boot of the car.

      Hi. That sounds like a good way to store and tow. I always find it interesting on how other Vanners Tow. Thanks Phil.👍🙂

    Always interesting to see how others load both car and caravan. Your train of thought is not dissimilar to ours. Thanks for sharing.

    Very good advice Phil. I guess we both do it similar but at the same time a bit different as we carry different things. Have a great time in Oxfordshire 👍. Best regards to you both, Rob & Gail 😀

      Hi Rob n Gail. I guess we do have a similar method of towing. Watching the pet shop boys live at the new Manchester arena at present. Cheers Phil 👍🙂

    Hi ya Phil and Juliet.
    Great informative vlog.
    That's a really good idea of Juliet's with the cooker hood. Have heard of them shattering from other caravaners.
    We load more or less the same as you, but our wardrobe is in the back and we do tend to load it up with clothes.
    Back of my estate car looks a complete mess compared to yours.
    Thanks for another great vlog Phil.
    Thumbs up thumped 👍

      Hi Pete. Thanks I will pass on to Juliet. I can understand not wishing to fill the wardrobe up being at the rear, makes sense. My Car had just been cleaned inside and out. It doesn't always look that good. Thanks Phil. 👍🙂

      Hi Richard. We have had different content layouts but this one seems to work for us. It is quite well balanced and doesn't overload the caravan. Many Thanks Phil.👍🙂

    Similar to how we load and travel too👍. Excellent advice.
    Some folks seem to treat their caravans as load trailers, putting everything in them. This is dangerous and potentially illegal should the police stop you and take you to a weigh Bridge.

    • @lostweekendscaravan
      @lostweekendscaravan  3 месяца назад +1

      Hi Yes some folks do tend to over fill the Caravan. How we have keeps it legal whilst towing. We have since changed our outside chairs to save on weight. Many thanks Phil.🙂👍

    Hello Phil and Juliette, when towing we put our awning in the car too. This year we went seasonal so wont be towing much. Love your channel. We just recently bought the Wild Earth Sun Canooy after watching your review. Still need to try it out. Take care

      Hi Tracey. Thanks for watching your support is appreciated. Enjoy your canopy. Did you get 2 awning rail stops? You will need them. Enjoy your seasonal pitch. We might consider one in a few years time. Thanks again Phil and Juliet 👍🙂

    Hello Phil, we more or less have the same set up as you when towing, the only difference is our outdoor chairs I store in the front outside locker, witch can be a bit difficult to get them in and out, so seeing how you have yours stored I will probably do the same, if you have the chairs with you and you don’t take the awning when you’re set up do you just store them under the caravan ?, thanks again Phil, hope you and Juliet have a great holiday,👍👍.

    Struggling to get weight down to jaguar 75kg noseweight. Nothing in front locker except half full/empty gas bottle. Anything heavy like locks,hookup cable water containers go just behind axle line and its still nose heavy . 2016 lunar clubman.

    Where do you store Aqua roll and Waste master ?

    • @lostweekendscaravan
      @lostweekendscaravan  3 месяца назад +4

      Hi Paul. Good question and the answer is quite simple we don't use either as we use fully serviced pitches. The Aqua Roll and Waste Master are in the loft.
      Due to having a knackered knee its fully serviced all the way for us. Thanks Phil. 🙂👍

    • @therevenants
      @therevenants 3 месяца назад +3

      If not on fully serviced, we store ours in the shower and bathroom.
      On a fully serviced pitch, still use our water hog container, but fit a ball cock device into it to control the water level in.
      Some fit pressure reducers on the main supply in and plug directly into their caravan.

      In the washroom in their clean storage bags jammed in with towels.
      Rest of the stuff travels in the car to make it "heavy" and the caravan "light".
