When I forced my 2 young children & my mother on this ride 12 years ago, I thought it was a harmless kid’s coaster. I had no idea that it’d be in complete darkness! My kids cried/screamed the whole time & all I could do was laugh hysterically whilst saying “I’m sorry” (bahahaha). I secretly LOVED it & wanted to go again!
my parents made the exact same mistake and it traumatized me for the rest of the vacation. I even begged them not to make me go on and they insisted it was a harmless little kiddie ride
I took my son in it after hearing it was a great kids ride we saw none of what was shown here no statues or displays just pitch black the whole way through and a big camera flash at one point that hit the eyes like a splinter and made seeing and trying to calm down a child who didn’t know what the fudge was going on nor did I for that, just impossible. I got off with a traumatised kid and wondered why it read so liked when you couldn’t even see any of what was shown in this clip other than a bling of track occasionally in the blackness. Crazy stuff if we’d been able to see the props and direction space etc online you can here we likely would have enjoyed the experience. I’ll have to give it a retry myself just to see if it’s anything like this video . Movieworld is also great for littlies but could do with more rides for in between ages as well.

Yes!! In the early days it was pitch black with disco lights and great sound with the music. It seems so lame now with the lights on ( my last time there was 2 years ago before they closed it for renovations and there were barely any special effects )

Not sure if I'm remembering this ride correctly but I remember the monsters looking and sounding different, and being more creepy back in 2005. I wish Movie World just refurbished everything and left it the same instead of making a "better next generation" ride out of it. Lot's of fun memories with that ride. I just wished it stayed the same
I just watched a video of the Updated Version, and then this one. The UV has better lighting, but the screens totally ruin the immersion. The Older Version is more immersive because it's all practical effects and dialogue lines, they should have kept the Older Version and dimmed the lights and it would be perfect. The only better part of the UV is the last room, because the lights on the walls are reminiscent of a 60s party but with a modern feel in a better lit room. The older version is still better, totally agree
I am a Japanese. When I went to Australia for homestay from an English private supplementary school, I got on this attraction. It is a very good memory!
Best ride there is at movie world hands down, Especially when the lights are off! I'm sure it's suppose to appeal more to kids but that isn't the case at all 😂 I recommend anyone who goes to movie world to go on this. Aahhhh I'm so excited!
Mate you've seen too much. if u really plan to come to Australia to ride this awesome piece of art... then try to forget this video as hard as you can. This coaster was sooooooooo unbelievably good when it was in the dark, and you had no idea of the layout. Honestly this was better than most big open air roller coasters I reckon. This video is a total spoiler/ruiner and should be at least marked with a spoiler alert in the title!
This Scooby Doo ride was my first experience of a “coaster” and it was one of the scariest experiences of my life! Keep in mind I was only around 6 at this stage.
This is my favourite ride ever! It's changed a bit though. Way more dark though! You can hardly see anything, there is lasers and everything, I think it has improved a lot. Btw I went last week :) Except we had to wait in line for a around 1 hour and a bit, definitely worth it though! At the end of that day we just kept going on it 😂 Totally recommend it!
Ive done this ride so many times in a day that i lost count, i though it was a pretty gay ride at first until you go into the dark building with all the music going, it is alot of fun in the dark, being unable to see where you are going, but i would say its far from spooky, would have been cool if there was some holograms that popped up in your view etc...
This was the best version of the Scooby Doo Spooky Coaster especially when the lights are off. Never went on the ride when the light were on. Which I'm glad for. The new version of the ride lacks the creepy atmosphere and all in all isn't that good. The anamtronics were a hell of a lot creepier and tone setting rather than the new CGI stuff.

Hahah, same thing with me. It's an amazing ride, though personally, I think the fog machines and lights work better *with* the lights off. ;D
I remember when I was 5 I went on it and cried during the backwards drop
Damn I went on this 9 years ago, it's so cool to find it in my recommendations. Quarantine is really making me nostalgic.
We went on the same year. They’ve changed it up a bit, the theming is still good but not as good as it used to be.
Holy shit I can't wait to go on this ~ I've been to MovieWorld about 2-3 times now, but I've never been on this ride before (I've been too scared haha) but next time I go I want to go to the Wild West ride, the Batwing (I've done those two before) the Superman and the Scooby Doo rides! Aahhhh I'm so excited!
Now quinton, you sure this ride isn't scary?
Hahahahaha
Holy FAACK
Quinton: eh
I still remember the dark room as the laser room.
Is it still up? I'll go to Australia just for this if it's the only way to go on because I don't know where else to go.
It's still there, yeah
+Bailey Smallwood (RabidSquirrelThing) Sweet thx.
+Michael Knorr regardless, I'm still gonna love it.
C.J. Moran Sure are.
This is a modified version of the wild mouse layout right?
Wild mouse is a coaster type so yes it is a modified wild mouse
Ah thanks, this also has the same layout as goofies sky school and others like that after the rotation element
no
Hershey?
???
the corners were so intense! my cart almost came off its rails!
Or the music I wish I went on it when it was like that my fav part is where it turns really fast
This Scooby Doo ride was my first experience of a “coaster” and it was one of the scariest experiences of my life! Keep in mind I was only around 6 at this stage.
Where's scrappy doo
Puppy power
Vv
Velma: scrappy doo
Me: what him again he has returned
That ride looks like so much fun!!
its closed until 2025 💀
This is my favourite ride ever! It's changed a bit though. Way more dark though! You can hardly see anything, there is lasers and everything, I think it has improved a lot. Btw I went last week :) Except we had to wait in line for a around 1 hour and a bit, definitely worth it though! At the end of that day we just kept going on it 😂 Totally recommend it!
I watched this just so I could see the spider with the lights on.
3:10 that’s the ritual circle from the movie
I went on that when I was 4.
It was the scariest thing in my life at the time
I went on there when I was 8 and I was really scared too
Ive done this ride so many times in a day that i lost count, i though it was a pretty gay ride at first until you go into the dark building with all the music going, it is alot of fun in the dark, being unable to see where you are going, but i would say its far from spooky, would have been cool if there was some holograms that popped up in your view etc...
fun wild mouse ride, and love the elevator lift and going backwards before doing the usual wild mouse thing, that's so cool.
Why are the lights on? normally its pitch black and you cant see where you go.
I love rolercosters
they turn the lights on just for the review from "theme park review". i guess they turn it back off after the POV
Best ride in movie world.. hands down.
Poppus dcrivals, Superman, green latern to name a few better then this
0:18
*cough cough*
why were the lights on?
Omg I know right
Dom Roso Yes... but why were they on in the first place? Did they personally ask the owners to have the lights on?
The would have ask so you can actully see the whole thing/
For recording this I am guessing.
Absolutely love this, don’t know how but i think this is better than the joker ride. Super fun
Now I reliesed that when I was a kid I thought there was a safety net or something like that but no D:
