In this video we go over the Nike GT Cut Academy:
At only half of the GT Cut 3 retail price, this shoe offers incredible value performance wise. Traction on a very dusty court is perhaps the best of all shoes I’ve had recently, together with other ones like the AG4. Cushion is also slightly better than average around this price range - standard softness and responsiveness from the foam, but there is a forefoot Zoom unit which is quite rare on a budget hoop shoe. The GT Cut Academy is also extremely lightweight, not too flimsy (upper material) and great for guards. You can either go true to size or half size up for the best fit, depending on your foot shape / preference.

Thanks to your review which I watched when you posted it, I picked a pair up today at a Nike outlet for $44.99. Was a no brainer at that price..I couldn't believe it when i saw the price. Seems like lots of ppl sleeping on this cuz even at that price the shelf was full from top to bottom.

I wish Nike would bring back the hyperchase, the zoom run the one, hyperrev, zoom crusader, etc. those shoes were so simple but got the job done, Nike is always quick to give up on shoe lines if they’re not a signature line

I was wondering if you can recommend a shoe that can fit my foot type (length=24 cm, width=10cm, flat foot, regular shape). I’m 165cm and around 172lbs. My foot aches in the arches when playing with most shoes except Son of Flash US 8.5 (26cm). Bought the Move Gameday Pros but it still gives me foot pain

Also, son of flash 2.0 in lining website is on sale for 70usd. dunno of thats the official SOF 2. I think is a good budget shoe. but a downgrade from SOF 1 in terms of tech.
Yeah they did make it a little confusing… Well the actual Son of Flash 2.0 (the one that looks like an obvious continuation of the first version) might be named something else and they were intending to introduce that as a lifestyle model at first. Unfortunately the Gt cut academy here in Brazil is not a budget shoe, its price comes really close to a Lebron 20. And another thing that makes no sense is the lebron nxxt gen being more expensive than the regular xx. Its sad, the "budget" shoe has the same price of a Flagship shoe.

Hello! Very very close, I think AG4 wins with better bounciness, but otherwise these two are by far the 2 best shoes in this price range to me. So no bad pick here 😁

What shoe would u think is better gt cut academy or ag4? I have a guard playstyle also plays defense a lot , right now I am using precision 6 but Im looking to buy a new shoe because it is starting to wear down and the cushioning is kinda brutal for me because I do tend to jump a lot in games.
Both are amazing shoes with elite traction. Since you’re a guard and currently use the Precision I think the GT Cut Academy will be a great option and nice upgrade.

update - got the gt cut academys and they're really good to play in. never felt any knee or ankle pain or discomfort when playing, and it really let me stop on a dime even though i'm heavier than most people my size. thanks!

I have both the GT cut academy and The impact 4 and I would say that GT cut academy provides better traction and feels lower to the ground than the impact 4. However the impact 4 has thinner upper which could potentially give you better ventilation. Cushion wise, i’m quite a light person so I don’t really feel the air unit of the impact 4 and would prefer zoom unit more (both shoes have good cushion tho). and on outsole durability, I’ve been using both of them outdoor and I’d say both of them is perfectly fine to be used outdoor.👍👍👍
