1 orange
1/2 onion
6 garlic cloves
1 cup of orange juice
1 evaporated milk
1 Coca Cola
2 tbs of salt
2 bay leaves

I will say it: CookingwithGloria really KNOWS how to make carnitas. I followed this recipe and it came out amazingly wonderful. Yes- no babysitting, no turning things for even cooking- just do it the way Gloria says. I did add my own herbs and some spices for the last hour only, but I followed Gloria's technical instructions and yes, Muy Bueno Amazing100%.

I made these yesterday , so damn delicious. I can’t believe how the citrus and the coke absorb into the pork . I did make the mistake of putting the orange juice and liquids too early and I didn’t get enough crisp but they were still damn amazing for my first time . Your way was the easiest to understand and I’m definitely making these again soon

Carnitas is my very favorite Mexican dinner, if not my favorite thing to eat, period. I always order it at every Mexican establishment I frequent...but have been reluctant to try to make it at home as it seemed a bit overwhelming. I just made your recipe for my wife, who is very picky when it comes to meat, and we were BLOWN away at just how fantastic it was! I could almost smell them through the screen...so at 3am on a cold rainy night in London Ive just been rooting through the freezer to unearth the chunk of shoulder pork I knew was in there somewhere, and now I cant sleep at all because I'm waiting for daylight to go foraging for oranges & coke!

I made these Saturday and they came out amazing! Everybody loved them! Thank you for this instructional video! The only drawback for me is cleaning up the lard after cooking. I saved most of the lard by filtering it into a container and putting it into the fridge. Any tips or tricks to pass on?

I looked and didn’t see it in the comments, but what size Dutch oven do you use to make your awesome Carnitas? I have made them and I always need to make them in two pans.
