I admit I know little about figs. However, from what I gather about brebas is that it's still a fig, so that's what it is. I don't feel the need to be ritzy with lingo.

We call them 'Fioroni' in Italia and main figs 'Fichi' and autunnal figs 'Cimaruoli'
Edit:main figs are actually called 'Pedagnoli' but that's ok
