  • This video is episode two of a brand new series called Conquering Tennessee. My goal is to travel and do some bass fishing at ever lake and river in Tennessee. In this video I go to Old Hickory lake to fish docks with grass, bluff walls, and do some offshore fishing. Old Hickory lake is arguably one of the best lakes in Middle Tennessee and Im here to show you why I chose to do some Old Hickory Lake bass fishing. It was a ton of fun filming this video and I hope you guys enjoy. Also consider subscribing for some more TylerM Fishing content!

I caught a possible world record freshwater drum out of Old Hickory. I just thought it was a trash fish and released it. it was way over 50 pounds. In the summer time on Old Hickory if you can find a shad jump and schools you can wear bass out. On 94 degree day a friend and me were catching one after another mostly 14 inch fish. my friend caught a 7.5 pound bass. A guy on a jet school pulled up watching us catch 100 fish. The next day the jet ski guy was there in a brand new bass boat he went and bought. lol

@@MusicCityAngler i was fishing for rockfish/stripers and catfish with 90 pound braid. I figured i had a big striper and was mad when it was a trash fish. It was way before cell phones and I didn't know what the record was. I just know it was hard to get in boat and barely fit.

I’ve never seen a smallie in old hickory.

They exist haha. I have caught some 3 pound smallies out of there. Now I have only caught them on bluff walls.

I've only caught 2. one was by a boat ramp near Bledsoe, and the other was on the bank at rockland (casting towards the boat slips near the boat ramp.Neither were good size though.

@@mobiussquadron I have never had much luck with smallmouth up the river which is the opposite of what you would think.

The smallies are actually at the dam in h ville for whatever reason

@@alexnelson09 this comment section about smallmouth gets more and more confusing haha. I need to go target them on that lake soon.

Say "dude" about 18,000 more times. This waste of bandwidth is mostly about jumping haphazardly between spots, pound the banks and catch a few random yearlings. You don't know where the home of the fish is. Hint: deep water.

I apologize that you feel this way. I recorded this video a year ago and have learned a lot since then.

@@MusicCityAngler Dont worry about these people, there are tons of good fish in the shallows on OHL. The best places are in the mouth of the creeks that empty into the lake.

@@davidrobinson2005 I appreciate it man this means a lot. I find that when I go to OHL I can put up some decent fish dragging a caroline rig at the mouths and dragging jigs. This video was from a year ago which I have become much better since.

@@MusicCityAngler There are some big ones in there, but they didn't get big by being stupid. TWRA shocked up a 17 lb. largemouth on OHL not long ago.
