The Crobots sense of intuition has raised its nobbly head yet again, forging ahead, into uncharted canal waters, completing yet again another major task, showing others the way forward, Crobots rule! 11:37 😊
What's life without a narrowboat disaster or two. Love it! Of course you did really well while Bex was away. The floor looks great. But don't ever stop having disasters or do up your 'rust bucket' too much. Where will we get our laughs?
It's worth doing right - you'll sleep better knowing that your boat won't spontaneously combust. I commend you for being able to rip out your first few attempts as you improve your understanding of the problem.
Yes we do seam to make its hard on ourselves haha but we learn from all these mistakes thankfully, will get there, will be cruising in no time , thanks for watching 😀
You tell him girl the way it needed to be done, Good weather now for you ,well a bit better than that cold snap . Not so bad here in the South West of the UK.
Love the Video Thumbnail ,best one yet. Can we have a video with a completed project ? It get very frustrating not getting to see the finished product. I reckon you secretly completed the whole boat months ago,and are just ‘ stringing ‘ all us viewers along. 😊
Thanks 😀 I know were terrible...we have at times held onto footage until parts were fully finished , the problem now is that we would probably not be able to put a video out for a few weeks, were literally a week ahead of our vlogs most of the time. Thanks for saying though maybe we should hold of on certain projects until there fully done 😀
So glad you thought Chris had done a good job ! He’s not useless like he thinks he is . I love the fact that you both make me laugh and smile when I watch your vlogs ! Love you botties xxxx😊
Bless her, Becca was super supportive of my work though there were a few little hiccups.Awww thats nice...that makes it all worth it Mandy, thank you so much xxxx
I so want to see how this is going to look, I know it’s hard and time consuming but why not make your videos movie length, we all love your vlogs so we’d enjoy a weekly movies. LOL. Reality is you’re teaching me how to do this as we want another wood heater in our new home, the worrying part to me is the bit that goes into the ceiling and through to the roof, you can teach us Becca. Great vlog guys, take care and see you next Tuesday. 💕
id love to make them movie lengh😂😂 thats so sweet of you, Becca is so good at explaining gates things...shes so clever. Next Tuesday is ahallooween...so were planning a special halloween episode 😀 have a lovely week
Floor looking good . Three coats for best more protection best done when your nearly finished all the other works . If you want to get a more uniform colour more coats on the lighter wood . When I did my stairs I would do one and miss one so we could still use the stairs providing you had long legs . And did the missed ones the next night . I also have the oil in the bathroom and after 12 years it's still looks good .
🥰 Hi Guys, as always loving your vlog's 🤣😂 always funny and educational, where Beck's is concerned. Hoping you get a roaring fire going soon. Take care and stay safe. 😀
Hi Becca, Chris, I would deffo say put the uprights in (as well) on the fire wall just to give everything extra strength. This will give you a firm support to the base of the floor. Those "T" brackets are good, but don't like too much weight. You have both done an amazing job, as you do every week. Hope your concert was great Chris. Always loving the editing. It's certainly worth s mention every week for both audio and visual. Great to hear the Dramatic Music (thank you). And one more compliment I must give you both. The image that comes with the RUclips file, is always so good, but it's brilliant this week. You must have put a lot of work into that. Thank you. Take care. Spoolbox
Thank you Spoolbox, the image is often lucky...we just play around and hope for the best, but I really thought this one came out well too. Thank so much for noticing. Becca bless her does so well with all these DIY jobs...I have alot to try and keep up with but at least im learning, thats intersting what you say about the t bars, take care have a lovely week
The original screws for cement boards had several coating of galvanised zinc when fixing the screw it would strip the galvanising off the screw head and the tile adhesive reaction with the metal caused the screw head to rust and then expand then hair line crack tile . Stainless are the better choice . Some poor quality stainless screws do rust so I stick a little bit of tape over the screw hole to make sure the adhesive doesn't come into contact with adhesive . The best adhesive I've found is NX flexible adhesive with a flexible grout .
This the first day of fall - suggest buying an electric blanket ,USB heated coats, heated gloves & socks along w/ infrared portable heaters - in case of stove installation delays - farmers Almanac UK Winter 2023-24 is likely to be generally drier compared to previous winters and colder, increasing the risk of more snowfall events. Sounds great
now that would be a great idea, especially as were still on the marina...yeah while were all at it lets get the full kit 😂😂 owwwww now that sounds good though snowfall is always a bit scary
have you measured your flue and made sure all combustibles are more than 3 times the width of the flue away from it. If you have to relocate the chimney that could effect where you can have wood supports and wood pine panelling. Don't forget you have to remove the same distance from the ceiling pine panelling too. Bit of insulation in that empty space too to cut down on cold and condensation/rust-so small you could probably ask for a sample and that would be enough to fill the space. I'd go with the board as close to the insulation as possible, then your copper on top of the board. You're getting there keep going you will be cruising next summer.
Thanks so much for your advice. We need to do a few more measurements, it's so difficult with having to take the stove in and out, it's so heavy!! However we are hopeful that we have it safely set up now 🤞 It all becomes a little more difficult when some of the recommended regulations are physically impossible on your boat because they are translated from those for a house! If we did some of them then the hearth would actually cover half of the doorway so you have to work as close to the recommendations as you can sometimes! Thanks so much for your continued support and advise 😊
Nice one good Job that’s got to pass that test .was that Blink 182 Chris one of the funniest songs I herd of Blink 182 is I WONT TO FECK INDA ASS I WONT FECK A DOG 🤣🤣🤣🤣 have a top week 🙂🎸🔧✌️
If I was you I would extend the chimney pipe around the boat before venting outside. This way the heat from your burner will dissipate through the pipe work into and around your boat.
Wow! Now this is an idea! I'm not quite sure how we would do this though and still maintain a good draw on the fire???!!!

@@TheNomadicCrobot look into putting a small wind deflector on the top outlet, it would turn to which ever way the wind was blowing do should keep a good draw .
I dont think we ever really have, maybe we will have to make a video on it, we were old pub buddies then reunited a few years back and bonded over talks of how Bex used to live on a Narrowboat and how I had always wanted to live on a Narrowboat, thanks for asking 😊
If you change your working hours, to night shift instead of day shift, your work will keep you warm throughout the night. Just a little idea I just got ...
Another great insight to boating life. Poor Chris must have some useful qualities just like Tin man the lion and scare crow he just needs to find the the yellow brick road for the wizard to to cast a spell. What am I saying Chris we all know you need the hand of the DIY god to perform a miracle. That will be $$$$$$$$$$ for the blessing.
