- In this video, I will share with you the gas mileage I have been getting with my 2022 Refreshed Chevy Silverado LT Trail Boss. The sticker claims 13 MPG for city and 17 for highway with an average of 15 which is not great to begin with. It does not mention anything about how towing affects these numbers so I will share details about that too.

Great video. Very interested to see how the w/o dfm engines are doing fuel economy wise
Again this is great info..I got my trail boss this week and I love it...after watching your vids I learned a lot of things...thanks again man....
My 2022 LT Trail Boss with 3.0 Duramax currently has a high of 34.5 mpg and a average 20.9 combined. I love that Duramax
That is no possible, the 3.0 trail boss is 22 city and 23 highway
I have a silverado LT refresh with a 3.0 duramax diesel it tows pretty well
Would you be willing to do a quick video (or maybe just a reply) of a round trip fuel economy at like 70mph? Nothing crazy maybe like a 20 mile loop or something.
Really curious if the highway mpg on the sticker is accurate. Can’t find much on the non dfm engines.
I drive 10 miles each way to work everyday on the highway at 65 MPH. Based on the drive summary on the digital cluster (which usually reads a little high), I consistently get 18-20 MPG on the way to work and 16-18 on the way home. The difference going home is that it is a bit more up hill (not a lot) and most of the time I am driving into the wind. I hope that helps.
The non DFM engine will be a positive if you plan on keeping the truck for a long time. I wish my 6.2L was non DFM. Otherwise I really love my truck.
Had a '15 Silverado 2500HD. 6.0 8sp. Keep the MPH at 65 or slower. (probable will not happen !). would get 17-18 mpg. Go crazy with over 70 would get 15. Pull any trailer at any speed-11-13 mpg. The 6.0 is just a bored out 5.3.
I need to look at my real life average for my 22' Refreshed 6.2l Trail Boss. I have it in a Spreadsheet and I'm at just over 5k. It doesn’t get no where close to the MPG's my 18' 6.2L 8 speed LTZ did. The 18' was much better.
My 2022 LT Trailboss is a week old now it has 304 miles on it and I have the 2.7 turbo I’m LOVING my city mpg. My first road trip will be next week so I’ll get a better idea on hey mpg
Hwy mileage that is
@@thomasmcghee2468 how is the mpg ?
Are you combining city/highway? Also mileage will continue to improve until around 5k miles then it will flatten out. Interesting choice to tow with so little miles on it lot of added stress on a brand new motor. Truck is doing well in all reality. Let’s be honest why are we concerned about mileage with a truck like this.
Yes, I am combining city and highway. I just took my total miles divided by the total gallons of gas. Not concerned about MPG, just providing information. Based on my dealer's advice, I didn't tow for the first 500 miles. Also, the trailer/camper I have is pretty light (3500 lbs). I didn't realize fuel efficiency could keep improving up till 5k miles. I will keep an eye on that. Thanks.
It will get better with more miles on truck. And drive in sport mode for better mpgs
Pulling that RV trailer will not help !
