- The developers of the BMW M3 and M4 have the floor. No frills; just information - first-hand from those who know best. In Episode 3, Frank talks about the tyres of the new M vehicles.
BMW M3 Competition / BMW M4 Competition:
Fuel consumption in l/100 km (combined): 10.2. CO2 emissions in g/km (combined): 234.
BMW M3 / BMW M4::
Fuel consumption in l/100 km (combined): 10.8. CO2 emissions in g/km (combined): 248.
The values of fuel consumptions, CO2 emissions and energy consumptions shown were determined according to the European Regulation (EC) 715/2007 in the version applicable at the time of type approval.
The figures refer to a vehicle with basic configuration in Germany and the range shown considers optional equipment and the different size of wheels and tires available on the selected model. The values of the vehicles are already based on the new WLTP regulation and are translated back into NEDC-equivalent values in order to ensure the comparison between the vehicles. [With respect to these vehicles, for vehicle related taxes or other duties based (at least inter alia) on CO2-emissions the CO2 values may differ to the values stated here.] The CO2 efficiency specifications are determined according to Directive 1999/94/EC and the European Regulation in its current version applicable. The values shown are based on the fuel consumption, CO2 values and energy consumptions according to the NEDC cycle for the classification.
For more information on the WLTP and NEDC test procedures, see www.bmw.com/en/innovation/wlt....
Further information on official fuel consumption figures and specific CO2 emission values of new passenger cars is included in the following guideline: 'Leitfaden über den Kraftstoffverbrauch, die CO2-Emissionen und den Stromverbrauch neuer Personenkraftwagen' (Guide to the fuel economy, CO2 emissions and electric power consumption of new passenger cars), which can be obtained free of charge from all dealerships, from Deutsche Automobil Treuhand GmbH (DAT), Hellmuth-Hirth-Str. 1, 73760 Ostfildern-Scharnhausen and at www.dat.de/co2.

Frank taught me how to drive the Nurburgring 10 years ago. Fabulous guy, and a great driver, knows every inch of the Nurburgring.
Thanks Frank, you helped develop my racing skills.
Enjoyed that , keep them coming!
Great but no more vertical videos please.
This video is my favorite one so far of the lineup
Die deutsche Version des Videos finden Sie hier: ruclips.net/video/8liw8aXwiFI/видео.html
Exterior Colours of the cars shown: BMW Individual special colour Sepang Bronze metallic, Skyscraper Grey metallic
Much obliged :)
For winter tire setups, will it be the 18/19 inch combination at the same width or something smaller?
Not everyone wants to watch the video ratio as an Instagram story. In fact almost everyone hates it.
Thank you very much for the feedback!
We understand that this format is still quite unusual for RUclips. But all the other channels already cater to the strong mobile trend with vertical videos, so the video was produced accordingly. We also use it in Instagram Stories, on Instagram TV and Facebook.
On Instagram, for example, we use these videos to inform 8.5 million fans, prospective buyers and owners which are following BMW M. This series focuses very much on pure information, prepared and presented by our technical experts.
If we look at the numbers of e.g. episode 2 of this series on RUclips (!), the following picture emerges:
Mobile phone 70,0%
Computer 18,7%
Tablet 6,2%
TV 3,4%
Game console 0,4%
Please have the RUclips app installed on your mobile phone for optimal user experience.
Thank you for your understanding.
@@BMWM you do realise I'm capable of rotating my phone 90 degrees? Still, nice to see a good comprehensive answer.
Hopeless trend chaser. Do you realize that the trend in your human viewers is that they have 2 eyes side-by-side, not up-and-down? That gives them a wide - not tall - field of vision.
@@mothaybabonnam5632 It’s very easy to have a vertical video and a normal horizontal video made in post production. There are preteen RUclipsrs that have better post production solutions then BMW.
I think BMW forgot their German motto of Kunde is König. Because you know... Use a phone you dumb
Very good, this video and the one before were much better
Thank you for the video, BMW. Tyres are interesting.
But only Cup 2 and not Cup 2 R (like 911 GT2 RS) for track days? Maybe later for the CS then ...
@BMW M do you plan to include the new Bridgestone Potenza Sport in the lineup?
They never mentioned the rear tire dimensions or wheel width.
10.5Jx19 285/35 R19 or 10.5Jx20 285/30 R20 (optional)
Top Videos! Keep them coming. I‘m so looking Forward to the Launch in March 💪🏽
When will you guys explain why is that bulged exhaust chamber😄.
Can some one tell me if this is a "Black" or "Bicolor Black" Wheel at 3:21 ? or even better where I can compare them (good pictures, because Configurator is not helpfull at all)
A true M machine and beautiful exterior paint color.
Indeed great video, but don’t do it vertically! This is no instagram or Facebook stories!
now not only the car itself but the reason of maintanence cost will be so much higher to own a M3/M4 ... we are sure to see so many of them sold in used market after 3 to 5 years onwards
The new m3 looks good now honestly
me too, definitely growing on me
It looks good if you're blind. If anything grows on you, go to a doctor!
Tires shown in this video. Michelin Pilot Sport 4s, Continental Exteme Contact Sport, Yokohama advan sport v107E, Pirelli PZero (PZ4 Sport) Pilot Sport Cup 2. Although take this with grain of salt as tons of parameters from compound to sidewall stiffness to belt angle is all tuned by the engineers. The new m3 4s tires have a unique tread pattern I have never seen before on a 4s tire. The inner 3 ribs look fairly oem 4s. However the outer two ribs are totally different. The 4nd outer rib lacks any of the ps4s distinctive angled chamfered edges instead replacing it with a rib with bi directional cuts. The 5th and final outer rib has an intresting lightening bolt pattern between each tread block. With the great increase in width I assume this was done to maintain wet weather driveability.
Front tyre 275/35/20
What was the rear?
Michelin top class tyre 🥇😎
What color is the car to the left? I like it.
Name of the colour is BMW Individual Special Paint Sepang Bronze metallic.
Which paint colors are on the 2 cars in this video?
As follows: ugly and super ugly
Colours are called Skyscraper Grey metallic and BMW Individual Special Paint Sepang Bronze metallic.
2160p 4k UHD landscape presentation clip with two left and right white boards in case you want to write down some notes
;) Thank you very much for the feedback!

@@BMWM I was just kinda joking, but telephone is easier to turn aroun than f.e. my 75 inch TV😜
@@BMWM Even when watching on my phone I'd rather hold the phone sideways for a video to fill the screen. It would also allow us a better look at the car when it's in frame...
@@BMWM What you miss on the mobile phone numbers is a lot of people turn their phones sideways, to get the full aspect ratio. You should really be asking...of your current and future M owners, how do they like to view their content? I doubt there are many TikTok users buying 80k+ M cars. This is coming from someone who owns an F82.
These new BMWs are so cool
Why no more run flats?
BMW have never used run flats on their M-cars (but still do on their regular cars).
@@mikaeljohnsson4982 ok, thank you.
They saved Klaus!!!!!
More likely they shot him.
The specs on the m3 and m4 are 👌🏻👌🏻
Really? It's fatter and has toy rear brakes unless you option better ones. No DCT but a full automatic. You're easy to please!
@@nessuno5403 Man yr dumb. I was on about the appearance of the cars for a start not the track width or the drive terrain. Stay tuned for the videos they literally are gonna explain it. If u don’t like the car why tf u watching.
whats going on with the media team?
Der Kühlergrill sieht so so so bescheiden aus, das ist der häßlichste den BMW je gebaut hat. Gruß Niels Brock
Bitte wieder die Quelle in deutsch einfügen. Ähnlich zum ersten Teil. Danke
Natürlich, sehr gerne: ruclips.net/video/8liw8aXwiFI/видео.html
Still no grill explained. Ok I’m going back to sleep 😴
Hál~O!!!
Fuuuuu vertical video

Uuuuuuuuu

M power
Ok Frank, but what about that front? 🐽
Downvote for the vertical video
I am sold on buying the new M3 but these new videos seem very desperate. Its such a huge turnoff i may look at other brands now…
Has nothing to do with desperation. If anything I'm appreciating the G8X cars a lot more. Such precise engineering has gone into developing these cars, and I'm itching to drive one!
@@ayandaradebe3318 we all have different opinions, Just sharing mine. Im in ny and i already saw some incentives before its available for viewing. I am eager too to test drive it
