Probably the simplest and easiest explanation I have ever heard explaining the offsets...great job

So I'm trying to learn the offset function on my G3 Touch. Does the Z axis always stay at home when I ask for G55 offset? No matter what I enter for a Z value on the offsets page, the Z doesn't move off of home.

Peter, I set up a g55, but when I hit go to origin the machine goes to the far left corner. Obviously I missed something.. Thanks for the videos. They got me through homing, soft limits, tool setter set up... This has me stumped.

The video Seems outdated. The new version 5.0 User interface has differnt behaviour

You are right. There are differences between this older software and the newer. The work offsets are all still there but the Temporary wok offset is not used when zeroing the Axis any more. This video will eventually be replaces with a Top tip video. I have videos I've never released because just as they were finished a change was made that made the video obsolete.
      Cheers Peter
