  • In this tutorial I will explain some of the basic fundamentals of the Japanese Industry System for new Japanese players.
    Topics covered here include a basic overview of the major types of resources, the industrial resources used for production, the overall goal of the Japanese player in his campaign, and some tips and tricks for getting the most out of your industry using WitPTracker.
    I'm sure I missed something here, so questions, comments & suggestions are always welcome. Leave them here or join me at my Discord server for an expanded discussion on anything WitP! Interacting with everyone and finding answers to questions is what I'm here for.

    The fuel consumption in Tracker is really only what HI ask for. The fuel consumption of the JN is always on top. So even if Japan not move any ship, they are running out of fuel.
    I did some similar videos and I am glad to see for everyone trying to explain this complex topic.

      Yes, you are correct, the fuel consumption is for the HI per turn. The TF burn estimate is not included in the deficit calculated by Tracker, I misspoke there. Good catch. It's something else you just need to be aware of every turn. I'll pin this comment.

      indeed, and considering the finite amount of oil on the map and naval operations, i have found that the "sustainable" amount of Heavy industry for japan is around 8000, anything over that and you will eventually run out of fuel. Also efficient tanker convoys are a must if you want to use your oil efficiently

      @@mrAMMW And even with that, you're looking at an eventual investment of over 1.7 million supply to eventually upgrade all those centers to get to that point. It's a difficult thing to do to balance the industrial capacity expansion with the finite amount of fuel and supply toy have to work with.

      @@jochenheiden indeed, though it depends on how much you conquer, if the japanese manage to capture most of china and the DEi the HI amount decreases by about 400, and if they invade india they dont have to expand industry manually at all. given time its of course possible

    • @jochenheiden
      @jochenheiden  Год назад +2

      Just remember that captured industry production is halved every time it’s conquered. If you take an Indian city with an HI level of 100, the Japanese only get to utilize 50 of those, assuming none are damaged when taken.

    Heavy industry seems like a vastly better deal than expanding light. 500 days till supply is made back plus you get HI points to build everything else. I’d expand that then expand plane production if I had the HI and the fuel to keep it all running is my take away

    • @jochenheiden
      @jochenheiden  Год назад +1

      Just remember there are costs and ramifications to everything you do. HI requires fuel to create in addition to resources. HI does have other uses for your industry and it also generates supply. It’s all interconnected. I encourage you to visit the forum post linked in my video description for an excellent discussion and spreadsheet guide for setting up the Japanese economy.

    Are you aware of a really good description of the aircraft/engine/RD? Like has anyone done a video of the Japan airframe and engine planner?

      Are you referring to Kull’s special spreadsheet for engine and airframe planning or something else?

      Also, on witp tracker website there is a headline to the left LCU production, but it’s empty. Do i actually produce lcu’s as well and not just the stuff they use? In the manual it says that I only provide material for the units

    Fuel is a misleading name really. Its more like heavy fuel oil. Your ships and industrial boilers burn it. Gasoline, diesel, avgas and petroleum products are represented by supply which aircraft and army units burn

    • @jochenheiden
      @jochenheiden  Год назад +2

      No one would disagree with you. It’s only use is for your ships and heavy industry. All other types of “fuel” are abstracted as supply. That’s why the Japanese can continue to make aviation gas out of rice Patties in 1945
