  • I went foraging for Mushrooms, this time I went to a brand new area near me that I had never been to before. I was scouting and looking for some more late summer Chanterelles and Lobster mushrooms.
I had yet to find any White Chanterelles or Lobster Mushrooms this season and I was on the lookout for some more Golden Chanterelles in a new area of the Forest near me.
I went out for about 3 hrs that afternoon and I have to tell you it was simply amazing. I found, not only more Golden Chanterelles but also finding some White Chanterelles and the first Lobster mushrooms of the season as well.
All this was in brand-new patches that were way off the trails in the middle of the forest. To find such diversity of edible wild mushrooms, all in the same general area was incredible. I love finding mushrooms especially when it's somewhere I have never foraged before.
Chanterelles are both Delicious and very Nutritious. We do get some really large fruiting bodies here in the fall and that does fill up our baskets quite often in the fall here in the PNW WA.

Not complaining about the early season this year, that's for sure! Already filled my dryer with porcini once this year with a trip to the north cascades. You already illustrated the chantarelle situation perfectly and I hear matsutake are already starting to show up too.

Hey there, your so right. I’m just happy to have been out when it’s early. Yeah, have been fortunate to have several amazing forays for Kings and Chanterelles. Heading out tomorrow with my friend who has been in some of my Vids for his first Chanterelles this year. Checking an old area I haven’t been to in a long time. Cool you got to fill your dryer with Kings early. They are my Favs. Hopefully lots of Chanterelles for you this season and also I am looking forward to Matsutake again this fall. I also heard they had started at the higher elevations in OR. Well stay in touch and I will share what I find. Good luck and thank you for watching and sharing here. Appreciate you Brother. 👊🍄

Hey there. I'm sorry you haven't found any yet. I'm wondering how far you went up the Loop to search? The lower elevations in our area seem to have the Chanterelles. What was your elevation you were searching? Also just like in the videos, were you searching in the hemlocks where there is open patches of moss and Salal and Oregon Grape? I was just up 2 days ago towards Mt Vernon, looking and we did find some more Chanterelles. It was my friends first and also he found a couple of good Lobter's as well. Your doing what you should be doing and that's getting out and looking. My friend goes foraging with me all the time and he is just now finding some. Things are just getting started and will continue with the cool weather and rain. Any of the State Parks around you in Marysville . Lake Roesiger area is also good . Lot's of Forest roads. Don't give up and just keep refining your searching. You will be finding them in no time. Good luck out there. Thank you for watching and sharing as well. I appreciate you. 👊🍄🙏

@@ImFungiHunter Thank you for your reply. I’m not really familiar to the area because I just moved from Arizona a few months ago. I went up around 500-1700ft on Friday. Even i didn’t find anything I still had fun.

@@wilaivi8945 Lower elevations would be better. Glad you had fun, it's what's most important for sure. Big difference between AZ and WA. Best advice and watch the videos about Chanterelles, find similar habitats, and look for that when your out. 👊🍄
