I live about 2 hours east of Dallas, I havent been there in about 10 years, I was born and raised in Texas, I love my state, but you couldn't drag me to Houston, Dallas, and especially Austin. Rural life in Texas is real Texas

Hi Janie ❤️ I recently got sun poisoning on my face and lips . My husband took me to urgent care and saw a dermatologist and told me to take ADVIL it reduces the swelling . Stayed out of the sun till swelling went down. It worked like a charm. Good luck honey and I hope you all have a wonderful vacation 💗

Good luck finding that car rental returns lot. My wife and I visited Dallas in 2023 and it was a nightmare trying to find it in the early morning before dawn. I would definitely look into that before departure day.

Hey guys, Texas is great, but you did visit during the hottest part of the year, so please come back maybe during the fall, late September through early November and visit and stay at the Gaylord Texas in Grapevine, TX. I am pretty sure you'll have a great time and will really have a great visit. Austin is fun, but you have to know where to stay and where to go, btw, Austin might be better for just the adults for good and drinking on 6th street! All the best, please give Texas another chance, you'll enjoy it, you just stayed at the wrong place in the hottest part of the summer.

Janie, hotels are not there to warn you of high time when tournaments are going on. They are there to provide you a place to sleep and feed you. 🙄 Texas is the best for all food and great people. It's extremely hot because it's the deep south.

Yes it is terribly hot in San Antonio. I made the mistake of going to the Riverwalk in July. I thought I would die from the heat, and I'm from the deep south!
Its humid in Florida during the summer. So your in side most of time unless you live near a beach. I live in the North West Florida area its nothing like down south.

Well I can agree with y'all that summer time isn't the best time to visit Texas, especially for people from the east coast who are not acclimated to hot humid weather, #2 San Antonio and Houston would have better things to offer you as far as things to do, now as far as the notion about " to much salt" in food , most of the food are highly seasoned but don't tend to use much salt, from what I've heard any food along the east coast tends to be on the bland side compared to southern food cuisine, sure east coast foods/ restaurants use spices and you have to know the right to places to eat at to find the best to eat however the same can be said for Texas . FYI if y'all return to Austin you have to try Franklin's BBQ, it's well known for great food. Hope your family revisits Texas again but have the right people to show you around and then give a review. I'm sure you'll have a better time.

You guys could not have done more things wrong than if you tried. You don’t just drive to Dallas, San Antonio, or Austin and check some shit hotelnear downtown, you go to one of the resorts. La Cantera, Barton Creek, Hyatt Hill country in San Antonio, 20 others..

Wish you would rethink where we are, we are called the christmas capital of texas. Ava would love to ride the santa train. I know so many great stores. We could hang out here at our house. Sorry you had a bad flight and sometime in texas. We would love to have you, we have a huge lake we would go feed the ducks. Please rethink texas. I cook a good breakfast, dinner we would go out. You would feel like you were at a bed and breakfast. It would be fun. You need to come to the midcities area alot more to do. Also we could take you to a rodeo. Ava would love to see horses. We have a huge grill in the backyard hubby likes to grill. Just sayin.

Dallas is definitely drier conditions sometimes rain/t-storms but going down to Houston is a different story. Don’t make me go down to Austin…. I’m only familiar with Springfield (Union) in Jersey is the only place I know..
