Thank you Sarah! I often wonder how relieved the owners of these great castles and houses must have been when Elizabeth finally took herself back to London after her summer progress. The strain and expense must have been enormous! This was a very well done video and I really enjoyed it. I appreciate how much work goes into producing these. I would love to have seen what the castle looked like in the time of John of Gaunt. I have always had an interest in him.

    Thanks for the video.
I visited Kenilworth Castle back in 2011 and did indeed stop in at that pub accross the road. It was the first time in my life I was able to try Fosters which they had on tap. As a visiting Australian I found that quite funny.

Haha that's brilliant :) I'm a kenilworth resident. I hope you liked my town. Growing up here was rather boring but as I've got older I appreciate it a lot more now 🙏. I live down the road from the castle. What did u think of it? It isn't as good as Warwick Castle, but the fact that Elizabeth 1st visited here makes up for it I think 😀

@@Katie-rx8ql i think she visited kenilworth several times, and it was a favorite of henry viii and other monarchs. and it had the longest siege in england. and it has a tiltyard. i don't think any castle has a more interesting history, or has better fortifications. its maybe not as good as warwick because it is a ruin. the greatest crime of cromwell was to destroy kenilworth castle (charles the first would surely be dead by now anyway!}, but if it had survived kenilworth castle would rival or surpass warwick in magnificence. and such ruins have their own mournful appeal. dead gigantic edifices of the past remind us what will happen when the oil runs out.

Excellent as always. Too bad she couldn't have just married him as she was already in her 40s and they were obviously in love. Good to see the effort is being made to preserve what's left. Look forward to all your work, thanks for the post.
