      People dont understand that the prices of things are never going back down. This inflation is deeper than we think. Those buying groceries are well aware that the real inflation is much over 10%. The increments dont match our income, yet certain investors still earn over $365,000 in stocks and assets. Wish I could accomplish that.

    Debt was used as money thousands of years before gold. Gold money became a thing to pay foreign mercenaries with gold looted from temples. Money was always an IOU unless someone lived outside the society; in which case they needed to use a commodity. Like cigarettes in prisons.
    Also, even when gold coins were used as money, they were a form of fiat. The gold coins had to be given values above the intrinsic value of gold, otherwise people would just melt them down instead of using them as a means of exchange. So the gold itself was only a carrier of the IOU of higher value, just like 10 dollars is worth more than the paper its printed on

    Before watching the video, I can say I’ve known I don’t own my money for many years. From the fact I pay bills with all of it, to the fact that money itself is a construct value based on outside influences. Bank accounts, paper money, plastic.. it’s all based on a value set by society and not actually tangible. Ok now to watch your video and see if I’m close 😅❤

    taxes don't pay for anything the federal government does. They're debited out of existence at the IRS. The money we're using to pay taxes comes from the government in the first place, so our taxes don't give them new money, they just cancel out what they've already spent. You can test this out yourself, the next time you pay federal taxes, do it in cash at a physical IRS location. They'll literally put your tax money in a shredder

  • @nathansimons9881
    @nathansimons9881 2 месяца назад +6

    I'll also just add: we need to find a way to socialize housing, just like we should with healthcare and utilities (including Internet). Landlords shouldn't be milking people dry and holding properties empty then writing it off as a "loss". Part of the problem, though, is that there is a perverse incentive for governments to see property values go up. Higher property values mean higher property taxes. Then the doubling down of real estate agents and property owners dominating local boards all but guarantees the housing crisis we are currently in.

    • @grimaffiliations3671

In other words if there are people and factories currently idle, new spending will bring them online rather than cause inflation

    And another problem of the subscription system, is the need to create content to fulfil the system. People wont subscribe to a system with just a few things like music/movies/etc even if they are the best thing in the world, people will subscribe over quantity.
    That's one the reasons I think right now we are on an era of low standards and on cultural decline. People whatever they do, they prefer to do a lot of different things and portray an image of consuming a lot of things, travel a lot, go out a lot, etc rather than consuming something with way more quality and having a better experience.

    • @christopherpereiraduarte7968
      @christopherpereiraduarte7968 Месяц назад

      Interesting view. Since low quality content has easier access to big exposure, and is often "pushed'' by algorythims, I would also say I see how that plays on the cultural decline of society at large. On the other hand, there is a huge ease of access to high quality information today then there ever was which should lead us to a better, more diverse and "colorful" future. The question is if the focus is too high on the ever-increasing consumption. That would probably affect our creation of new unique ideas that could cause a big shift in our values

    Yeah from the moment I heard that the money you earn and work for with sweat tears and even blood only to be put into for bills and food (which is completely understandable since someone has to pay the farmers and power plant workers) I knew money would never stay mine. It’s simply borrowed and once it’s used for food or bills it goes back to the owners. Then when I need it again it comes in my next pay check, I use it as necessary before it goes back. It’s an endless cycle unless you save or invest it (if you can) but even then that money goes back to the owner sooner or later.

    Best thing to do to ensure you own your money? Take your paper fiat currency and use it to buy as much gold jewelery as you can. Trade your fake money for real tangible money. As much gold as you can get your hands on. It never devalues completely and is only getting more value with computing.

    • @grimaffiliations3671

      There's nothing unreal about fiat money. If anything it's more real than commodity based money because it's backed up by the force of the state. If you're talking about simply investing your money to resist inflation, there are plenty far better investments

    • @youreyesarebleeding1368

      @@grimaffiliations3671 Every fiat currency in the history of mankind has eventually gone to 0. Fiat currency isn't "backed by the force of the state", that doesn't even make sense, if people stop having faith in the currency there's no amount of weaponry or force that can change that. Things that are provably scarce have intrinsic value because of that scarcity, e.g. precious metal and cryptocurrency.
