awesome... I remember this song dropped the same time Common's "The Light" came out and got lost in the mix. but it was honestly one of the dopest songs in '99
I'm sincerely proud of you guys. I'm a 70s baby and was exposed into some amazing music during my childhood. Don't just stop with hip hop from the 80s/90s. Many of these beats are derived from old jazz, Motown, 70s soul/funk, even pop. Hip hop is meant to put everything together.
Same with me lol. I heard it at age 9 and it always stuck with me until I heard it again at 19 and now all of a sudden at age 32 laying up in the middle of the night thinking about a ghost of the past this pops up in my head while thinking about her.
Thank You DiamonD D. For getting your fingas dusty on this track. Pharoah Monch what can i say dawg. i been listening to your music ever sinve your organized confusion fudge pudge days. a true mc blood runs through this dude veins. peace
Listened to Internal Affairs for the first time the other day, oh my god so good. His flow is amazing, the beats are crazy and it flows so so so well. Obviously knew simon says beforehand but damn so many bangers on this album
when this song first came out we didn't have spotfiy or youtube. not even an iphone. when this song first came out I played it for my first date. had to figure out what to play In the car to set the ambience. i had a 6 cd disc changer and I had this single in one of the slots. my first date loved this song much I played it on repeat throughout the night. hit it off 2 more times with her. month later she disappeared, ignored my calls. i seriously thought we were going to be together but instead she left the country with her family. never had an explanation and she never kept in touch. this song takes me back to a time I thought everything was going right with some. that was 24 years ago and never heard from her since.
I remember seeing this as a kid but didn't remember who it was that made the song. I kept thinking it was beanie sigel or somebody but I found it years later by just letting his whole album play through. I shouted that's him when heard it again.
omg, i jus came across this song and now im in love with it. i cant stop listening to it. pharoahe is so talented. how he sings and raps. plus this hot video
Yo Pharoh Monch inspired me with his music and he so creative and Organized Konfusion omg fuge Puge was the illest and amazing in their career and the Stress album to im only 16 i love real hip hop from my soul to the day i die

DAAM YO! this like a flashback im so happy lol aite i gotta man up BUT YO MAD ILL CRAZY PROPS fo this joint and awwll thaahhtt!!!
Classic. every time I see a pretty girl there is a tiny Pharoahe Monch in my head like "ooohh shiiit" I love this joint and I think even non hip-hop heads can dig it. "like marijuana shotguns let's blow this joint"
worked at sam goody in 1999 and this album along with a few others (mosdef, king and sway tech, eminem) was on constant repeat.this brings back so much good memories!
The album is out of print. They stopped selling Internal Affairs because Monch got sued for using that Godzilla sample in Simon Says. So the only way to get a hard copy of the album is buying it used for a high price on the Internet.
I remember my brother had this CD and he always used to bump it. I always liked this song but forgot the title. I had to look it up on Amazon. I never knew they had a video for this. Thanks for posting.
'Got You' is on "Desire," which came out June 26, 2007, not ten years ago, as people have said on the Training Day soundtrack. Also, you can buy Internal Affairs on amazon. Desire can be found on occasion at Best Buy. I'm sure Ebay would work just as well.

That hook is so simple yet it’s perfect and it compliments the cadence of the beat and that rift amazingly..

Yeah man, Monch is a pure underground legend. Those commercial cats can't compete with a real underground emcee!
The album is out of print. They stopped selling Internal Affairs because Monch got sued for using that Godzilla sample in Simon Says. So the only way to get a hard copy of the album is buying it used for a high price on the Internet.
