Where did you get this from?
@@gigatec916 looks like American Bandstand 1968
Got it on a 45. 18 years old back then. Low ridin Motown girl.
it is American Bandstand from Los Angeles
@@recordguy4321 her Classic with Family THE DREW-VELS as well as her solo of "TELL ME"are both great and on CAPITOL RECORDS!
2025 and Her music is still Awesome.
Still in love with this song in 2024, always will
Another great song by a classic artist, and awesome quality to the video itself!!
I remember how I felt when I heard this song, instant favorite of mine and I love this lady, still do
. That was in 68, this is 2026
The Tell Him Girl strikes again. First time I've seen her live.
We"ll take it slow... happy memories. When there was almost nothing but great recordings coming out every week!
The sixties the hits just kept on coming!!!!!
Thank you for this clip. I forgot that Patti recorded this before the 5th Dimension.
our music was and still is the very best.🤩
Sounds so good. I was working on a groovy thing. ❤
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ Still love it!
Love this woman she as a beautiful voice
I've been playing "Tell him" and "working on a groovy thing" since I found my utube. Back In the day all I heard was her on kearth. Now I play her over and over but this Dick Clark clip. WOW!!! She is just Beautiful! Her looks are Gorgeous! What a living doll! Her talent, her voice is uncomfortable. Thank you Patti Drew, your " Tell him" song got me thru my separation. Then I saw a clip of her in concert with her son, singing "Tell him" bom bom bo da da. Her son doing that part. O.M.G. Exactly like the original. It's here you guys look for it. "Tell him" live by "Patti Drew" recently. Thank you my sister! Such a lovely lady! God Bless you and your son!!! Can you come to the Hollywood Bowl or Greek Theatre in Los Angeles with your son. Please we'll be waiting!!! Love Always Belinda Arrieta.
This takes me way back to wonderful memories of my youth. My sister and I where real close in age she was my best friend. She had this on a 45 and used to play it all the time. I'd watched her just get lost in it . She'd close her eyes and lean her head back and she would just sing her heart out . She loved this song and Patty Drew. She died about 5 years ago and I miss her everyday. Thank you for sharing this video. I'm gonna keep it and every time I watch it I'll see my sister Bebe singing her heart out just like she used to do when we were young. Love you always my beautiful sister. 💖💖💖
The flip side of this 45 is great also.
Thanks for sharing such a beautiful/wonderful moment in time.
GOOD GOD 😢😮
GOOD GOD 😢😢
I'd almost forgot about this great song...when 'Black music/Motown was about love, romance, beauty, and commitment.
When we really made some great soul music!!!!!! Thanks Patti you did your thing!
TIMELESS MUSIC!!!!
I have never heard a voice so beautiful like hers, I have played it like 30 times and I'm like one more 😘
Agreed💙🎵🎶🎵🎶
She had a very much time going and got strung out with drugs.... Unfortunately she receives no royalties from her singing
if u dig her singing i recommend also the following .." Tell Him" and " Stop and Listen"
finally a clip of the fabulous patti drew!!! just so wonderful!!
Exactly!
Wow! What happened to those coronavirus blues.
Modest, Tall, Pronounced, Dignified and ultra-lovely. When you'd hear someone say "Soul Sista", you could point to Ms Patti all day long.
I still have a hard time believing how talented and Beautiful she was and is!!! I remember when this came out, really special
Never gets old 🎉
I love this song. Thank you mam.
I didn't realize just how beautiful she is. I'm in love with her and her amazing music. Beautiful voice. Just love this song

Same age as you...Thank you for saying it all!
REAL MUSIC.HEAVENLY!!!
I've heard various artists cover this song but no one brings it out like Miss Patti Drew& Marilyn McCoo it's literally a tie between the two ladies in my opinion.
Patti looks and sounds great in this clip ..
Love her hair, make up and that white outfit she is wearing.
Loved her voice. This is one of my fav songs from the 60's.

When music was music, love this song!❤
I'm a huge 5th Dimension fan, but this version is truly the best interpretation.
Patti Drew is the original recording artist, 5th Dimension version came out the following year!
Patti Drew was a Playboy bunny; she knew how to work that song.
this is the original version, way before the 5th dimension did it
@@ghrjr1 thank you for clarifying that for me 😊
it's great how folks interpret a song in their own unique way...I love all of em'...they all paint 🎨 a great picture...
This is when they really was singing. I don't know what this mess is they singing now.
This song was playing all through Chicago and was a hit.
There will never be music like this again!
Thanks for the video,
Peace
Can really enjoy seeing how the Great Patty Drew so expertly skillfully enunciates the lyrics, delivering each consonant, vowel and syllable with such precision.
Gorgeousness happening, very athletic physique. She moves like so, visually pleasing, dancing the body to her song groove YEA.
👍

Been a minute, have not heard that name in a while.
never thought id see footage of her!!! wow. i have all of her albums.
She had the most beautiful voices 😍 around next to Brenda Holloway
We did have a groovy thing Steve ❤ remember....
It’s 9/24/24 in Austin, Tx! Great era of songs! Seniors were great in ‘68! I’m 75 and still rockin to the ‘60s today🥳🎶
I remember being 13 years old listening to this song on KGFJ am 1230 in Los Angeles. The song was from a lady's point of view about a man. How the real game of love works. The lady always picks the man. Ladys and Men had such respect for each other. We need to bring back R&B, Funk, Rock and Roll, Country and Jazz music . Their was more love in the world. Music moves us along.
Right on..🔊👍👍👍
I was 13 my best friend was14 we loved it. She passed 2017 and I still have happy thoughts of our childhood when I hear.
Wow, you just took me back to the 60" with KGFJ Am 1230.I live in L.A and that was the soul station back in the days. great memories and beautiful music. of the past.
Hunter Hancock!!! Let's go hunting' with Hunter Hancock!!

1968 As a kid in Los Angeles My sister would play it loud .. We loved it ..
Come check out Big City Oldies on FB .
I have never seen a LIVE clip of Patti performing. Thanks for posting this.
What a classic piece of film footage, a beautiful singer, hair and makeup. Great classic song
Yes, I do love her hair and make up.
@@jackjules7552 ....uh....wigs have come a long way since then. 🙄
Love the glam look as well. Fake lashes must have been trendy at that time. When I look at my baby pictures from that exact era my mom is wearing lashes. Glad they are in style again, they look so good.
Ha hey... The modern ones aren't lashes... Their door mats😅😂@@StatisticsJason
When you could do the Cha Cha Cha back then. Dick Clark's American Bandstand 1968. She had a wonderful speaking voice as well.
Working on a groovy thang baby!
Beautiful jam, still listening 50 yrs.later..High School Days........Jan 2020

@@louiecolon9494 Well alright, another class of ‘71! I’m sure it will be a blast. We haven’t come up with a replacement date yet. Hopefully it will be this year & same venue, which is where we had our 10th.
Thank you for posting Ms. Drew's performance! She has such a pretty voice. Great song!
What a wonderful time! I was just a young girl of eleven, from Brooklyn NY. My family would visit East Orange NJ spending the holidays with relatives back in the sixties. There was a boy in the neighborhood, we enjoyed a sweet friendship, we took long walks, hung out with friends, what beautiful childhood memories!!!!!! Ms. Pattie, many wonderful artist gave us a sound, that served as the backdrop of our lives, leaving us with indelible memories that will last a lifetime!!!!!!!!! Ms. Patti was talented, beautiful, with a lovely soulful voice. A toast to you lady for your gift during a sweet, innocent sound!!!!!
She was AWESOME ! I remember she topped the record charts on many singles. I loved this song.
The harmonizing between her and her sisters is stellar

She is the essence of style and the heart of soul
Love Patti Drew! This is the first clip I’ve ever seen of her from back in the day! NICE!
This is exquisite. I always loved the 5th Dimension version and hadn’t heard this one. Wow…Transcendent grooviness!❤
What a seductress! And I mean that in the best positive way! I love how she masterfully uses the word groovy throughout the song. "Music moves us along..."
Impressive, love this girl!
Thanks so much for sharing this clip! Patti was totally under-appreciated.
I like your version on this song Even today Sept. 8 / 2021
I was a young teenager in 1968. I loved the song then as well as now. We had the very best, lasting music growing up.

Beautiful young Patti! LOVE THIS!!!
Finally a video of her back in the day 😻 this just made my day so much better 😸
wow, this is iconic and must be in a time capsule
One of Patti's finest recordings, perfect performance, gorgeous and desirable, backed by her sisters and Carlton Black, complete sound.
Stunning lady with a ton of talent and humility.
I love this song.I wasn't familiar with Patti Drew I don't know how I missed her singing it.I was 11 years-old at the time and my first time hearing it was The Fifth Demention's version then I happened to hear David Cassidy's cover, I didn't know he had done song as well. It WAS and IS a beautiful song. Miss Drew sung this song beautifully.
Just found this video for the first time... What a great version. This song.. for some reason... bring the 60's back so clearly... Love it....

Niiiice!!
She puts her heart and soul into it, WOW!
Fantastic!
You are the greatest
My first time seeing Patti Drew on any video. I remember this version b4 Marilyn McCoo's.😢
My Astonishment is, Patti's facial looks are similar to those of the late Florence Ballard. @ 1:12 - 1:25 is the sauce of this song for Me😊
