What I've learned is that no matter how good a person you are, if you get enough public attention, there will be people who hate you. There's literally not a single celebrity or public figure I haven't seen hate for.
Those people are the type who are bitter about everything positive in others’ life. They are the type who get jealous easily and always find fault in others. Best to cut them off your group of friends if you ever found one.
Yes! Bitter because they are lacking that in their life. For them, it's easier to shit on the person who is doing great in life (marriage, school, high paid job, traveling, etc) than to reflect on themselves and try to change their life for the better. Realistically by doing that, it's not doing any help. It's just sinking even lower than they were before Plus for the most part.. people on reddit, some but not all, most of them are slacking a lot in their life. So, yeah. The only thing they can do is to stay behind the screen and spew their projection onto others who are succeeding or enjoying their life to the fullest. Remember, people who are ejoying their life mostly don't spend 24/7 reading forums or comment shitty things to others. Not only that, most people have a nasty habit of assuming. Assuming everyone is clout chasing and having all this money

People mentioning how she used a subathon to help pay / raise money for her wedding. She did a full wedding people, not just some signature at city hall, weddings are expensive. Wendy is a streamer, that is her JOB. How else is she supposed to pay for her OWN wedding 👁👄👁 And if huge (typically male) streamers / Faze members / RUclipsrs buy luxury cars through streaming and donations and subs it’s no problem though right? It was a beautiful wedding and I was happy to be free for the ceremony and watch alongside like 60k other people :) it was a happy moment filled with a bunch of friends, family, and other streamers a lot of us are familiar with. So happy for Wendy and Abe 💜

For as long as I've followed these guys silently this just made me so mad to make such a great and amazing event in her life is being viewed as negative at all. Wendy isn't my favorite OTV&F member, but I think everyone has collectively agreed that she is the best member of OTV&F she's literally so sweet and talented and smart and just makes everyone happy no matter what she does. It’s really unfortunate that she had this looming cloud over her head during a day that should be remembered fondly. This is where she needs to remind herself that this is a celebration of her and Abe. That’s it. Just like anyone who has a bad apple trying to ruin their special day, just pay it less attention and make sure that you enjoy it, you look at yourself in the mirror and know and love the person you see.

I don't know why so many people made such a big deal about streaming the wedding. It's no different than people who film their Wedding and then upload it afterwards. It was a beautiful Wedding, and you were breath taking.
I don't normally subscribe to Wendy because she's rarely online when I am but I did to watch her and Abe get married. Everyone looked great her dress was gorgeous and the venue was pretty. Tina as a flower girl was cute and I loved Abes mom's traditional dress.

Appreciate toast in babysitting chat and giving them a good view of the wedding. They honestly didn't have to stream it but they did. Usually chat would just hear it from their favourite streamers ofc. And so what if people were gifting subs during this event, they're just happy for them. Some of the streamers who appeared said hi, interacted with chat when they honestly should just be interacting with everyone else there. Others didn't know what to say which was pretty fair since its a wedding event and they're off work. But the fact that they did it, shared this important moment with their communities was really nice. Huge congrats to Wendy and Abe! Their vows were so cute and hope they have an amazing life together

I think people are conflating parasocial with human interest. But also I think parasocial relationships in general have been villainized a little too much by people who take it to far. Yes there are people who legit think they're actual friends with this people, but I think the majority of people, like me, treat the relationships as one sided as it is in nature. I personally like the one sidedness of it because it's one social relationship that doesn't require maintenance or my social energy. All it requires is consistency which many of us have trouble with irl so streamers help fill in that gap. It's no more negative than Steve talking to us on Blues Clues when we were kids, someone we "talked" to to give our parents a break from having to talk to us. It's just something to fill in the gaps of our desire to socialize without actually having to socialize. That being said, people thinking that about Wendy of all people is nuts which probably means they weren't real viewers of her just came to catch a glimpse of someone they do watch and are just being hypocritical of the fact that they would jump at the chance to watch that streamers wedding. She's sharing it with you as a courtesy, not the other way around.
I think one thing streamers and everyone online in general need to understand, there are always going to be those people out there, that are unhappy with their lives and instead of using that to motivate themselves they use the negative feelings in their life to bring others down instead of bringing themselves up. It usually stems from jealously and they seek any source of ego boost by getting others to agree with them. They think somehow by saying x y or z person is horrible and others agreeing with them it makes them feel like they are actually a better person when in reality they are not. These people unfortunately will always exist and the best thing to do is just ignore them, not always easy, but at the end of the day listening to these people and letting them see that it gets to you, will only encourage them to continuing. The more attention people give them, the more they enjoy it, they don't care what you think of them, and just enjoy getting into arguments online because they enjoy seeing people get upset with their comments.
People will always criticize everything you do, doesn't matter what and that is really freeing. There is no point in worrying about it. Unfortunately I know this but I still struggle a lot with it. But I'm trying 😁
Live streaming a wedding has been normalized already becoz of the pandemic. I've seen a lot of it in FB and Instagram, my cousin even had one on Zoom. U can tell people on LSF haven't socialized enough.

Wow, I feel so bad for Wendy. To have all of those thoughts the night before her big day. Some people are just so miserable with their own lives that they need to make everyone around them feel miserable and just bring out negative energy. I know she had a great wedding but there’s always gonna be that small part of negativity that she’ll always remember. She just wanted to show her community a special moment and event in her life with the people she loves. A shame really but other than that everyone looked so beautiful and I loved being able to watch the ceremony. We’re lucky we even got to have a stream for the ceremony.
I tell you what - people can and will use any excuse they can ever find to hate you, because they just hate you. Some people are just like that. I'll always remember this one girl who just dislike me not because I've done something or said anything, but because I simply want to be quiet and not be a chatter box. We were supposed to be volunteering for helping out youth camps. It is a great experience to learn that there are some people like that, and the best thing to do is delete them, ignore them and move on. Not worth any effort and time. They aren't your problem. They are their own problem. And focus on the positive is hard, but it's a choice. So keep it up.

I completely understand Wendy's explanation and that she truly means it and feels it. What confuses me is the streamers pov in general, like comparing with the Kardashians. Streamers "perform" directly to a relatively smaller audience to interact with them, as opposed to recording a podcast and posting it later. Most streamers are very opened about loving their job for this aspect, the instant feedback, which is basically a type of chatroom, where they all are there to either interact with the speaker, or listen. I don't know how streamers separate their private lives since some stream about their lives. Some streamers succeed or simply distract viewers with unrelated content, others don't. But it's still nothing like a tv reality show... I find it very natural to fall into parasocial relations in streaming, I would be surprised if it didn't happen... But imo it can only be up to the streamer to have a handle on it... I don't agree that the viewers have any fault in it, especially being mostly young (teens or early 20s).
Because no one has done it before in the streaming community. Not sure if I'm correct but you know how streamers share their stories/daily lives in their stream. What's new/how's your day/so what happened etc etc. Others might have made a yt video about it and she decided to just stream it. The shady reaction and comments might be personal opinions or might have been influenced by other streamers joking around calling it a "meta" live streaming a wedding in twitch. Me I'm just glad to watch this wholesome event and be part of it as a viewer and fan.

Likely what's happening is it's a bunch of teenage girls freaking out and trying to grasp at ANYTHING to make your wedding look bad. There's a huge issue where a lot of women like to "steal" another woman's man in order to prove that they're "better than" the original woman. This also translates into a lot of women hoping for their male celebrity crushes to break up with their partners, because of some weird irrational idea that they may somehow have a chance then to become "mr populars" girlfriend. Because you got married, you officially locked off any and all hopes from these types of girls of you two ending things, and therefor they are taking out their jealousy on the wedding and you
Its a shame she went through all of this, how much she was giving for the relationship at the time. She spent 30 days or more of none stop streaming to fund the wedding and I was upset at the time for her because i didn't see Abe or her usual crew of friends being there for her like they were for Miyoung. I was really dissatisfied with them and in hindsight no i don't think its an indication her friends knew something was up with her. I'm not a parasocial andy, i liked the persona she presented but i always found her strict and overbearing and never seen her overly affectionate to Abe besides saying babe. Many people have said this but if she really cheated given her past relationships im truly disappointed. Wishing both the best, Abe should be strong but Wendy should try and be strong as well. Wendy isn't my favorite OTV&F member, but I think everyone has collectively agreed that she is the best member of OTV&F she's literally so sweet and talented and smart and just makes everyone happy no matter what she does. It’s really unfortunate that she had this looming cloud over her head during a day that should be remembered fondly. This is where she needs to remind herself that this is a celebration of her and Abe. That’s it. I don't normally subscribe to Wendy because she's rarely online when I am but I did to watch her and Abe get married. Everyone looked great her dress was gorgeous and the venue was pretty. Tina as a flower girl was cute and I loved Abes mom's traditional dress.

Ofc its random haters who don't watch these guys and just don't have anything else better do but hate on others lol. Honestly the whole event was so pretty. Appreciate toast in babysitting chat and giving them a good view of the wedding. They honestly didn't have to stream it but they did. Usually chat would just hear it from their favourite streamers ofc. And so what if people were gifting subs during this event, they're just happy for them. Some of the streamers who appeared said hi, interacted with chat when they honestly should just be interacting with everyone else there. Others didn't know what to say which was pretty fair since its a wedding event and they're off work. But the fact that they did it, shared this important moment with their communities was really nice. Huge congrats to Wendy and Abe! Their vows were so cute and hope they have an amazing life together

I think people are conflating parasocial with human interest. But also I think parasocial relationships in general have been villainized a little too much by people who take it to far. Yes there are people who legit think they're actual friends with this people, but I think the majority of people, like me, treat the relationships as one sided as it is in nature. I personally like the one sidedness of it because it's one social relationship that doesn't require maintenance or my social energy. All it requires is consistency which many of us have trouble with irl so streamers help fill in that gap. It's no more negative than Steve talking to us on Blues Clues when we were kids, someone we "talked" to to give our parents a break from having to talk to us. It's just something to fill in the gaps of our desire to socialize without actually having to socialize.
That being said, people thinking that about Wendy of all people is nuts which probably means they weren't real viewers of her just came to catch a glimpse of someone they do watch and are just being hypocritical of the fact that they would jump at the chance to watch that streamers wedding. She's sharing it with you as a courtesy, not the other way around.

I think one thing streamers and everyone online in general need to understand, there are always going to be those people out there, that are unhappy with their lives and instead of using that to motivate themselves they use the negative feelings in their life to bring others down instead of bringing themselves up. It usually stems from jealously and they seek any source of ego boost by getting others to agree with them. They think somehow by saying x y or z person is horrible and others agreeing with them it makes them feel like they are actually a better person when in reality they are not. These people unfortunately will always exist and the best thing to do is just ignore them, not always easy, but at the end of the day listening to these people and letting them see that it gets to you, will only encourage them to continuing. The more attention people give them, the more they enjoy it, they don't care what you think of them, and just enjoy getting into arguments online because they enjoy seeing people get upset with their comments.

Wow, I feel so bad for Wendy. To have all of those thoughts the night before her big day. Some people are just so miserable with their own lives that they need to make everyone around them feel miserable and just bring out negative energy. I know she had a great wedding but there’s always gonna be that small part of negativity that she’ll always remember. She just wanted to show her community a special moment and event in her life with the people she loves. A shame really but other than that everyone looked so beautiful and I loved being able to watch the ceremony. We’re lucky we even got to have a stream for the ceremony.
I tell you what - people can and will use any excuse they can ever find to hate you, because they just hate you. Some people are just like that. I'll always remember this one girl who just dislike me not because I've done something or said anything, but because I simply want to be quiet and not be a chatter box. We were supposed to be volunteering for helping out youth camps. It is a great experience to learn that there are some people like that, and the best thing to do is delete them, ignore them and move on. Not worth any effort and time. They aren't your problem. They are their own problem.
And focus on the positive is hard, but it's a choice. So keep it up.

I completely understand Wendy's explanation and that she truly means it and feels it. What confuses me is the streamers pov in general, like comparing with the Kardashians. Streamers "perform" directly to a relatively smaller audience to interact with them, as opposed to recording a podcast and posting it later. Most streamers are very opened about loving their job for this aspect, the instant feedback, which is basically a type of chatroom, where they all are there to either interact with the speaker, or listen. I don't know how streamers separate their private lives since some stream about their lives. Some streamers succeed or simply distract viewers with unrelated content, others don't. But it's still nothing like a tv reality show... I find it very natural to fall into parasocial relations in streaming, I would be surprised if it didn't happen... But imo it can only be up to the streamer to have a handle on it... I don't agree that the viewers have any fault in it, especially being mostly young (teens or early 20s).

What's new/how's your day/so what happened etc etc. Others might have made a yt video about it and she decided to just stream it. The shady reaction and comments might be personal opinions or might have been influenced by other streamers joking around calling it a "meta" live streaming a wedding in twitch. Me I'm just glad to watch this wholesome event and be part of it as a viewer and fan.

Likely what's happening is it's a bunch of teenage girls freaking out and trying to grasp at ANYTHING to make your wedding look bad. There's a huge issue where a lot of women like to "steal" another woman's man in order to prove that they're "better than" the original woman. This also translates into a lot of women hoping for their male celebrity crushes to break up with their partners, because of some weird irrational idea that they may somehow have a chance then to become "mr populars" girlfriend. Because you got married, you officially locked off any and all hopes from these types of girls of you two ending things, and therefor they are taking out their jealousy on the wedding and you

Its a shame she went through all of this, how much she was giving for the relationship at the time. She spent 30 days or more of none stop streaming to fund the wedding and I was upset at the time for her because i didn't see Abe or her usual crew of friends being there for her like they were for Miyoung. I was really dissatisfied with them and in hindsight no i don't think its an indication her friends knew something was up with her.
I'm not a parasocial andy, i liked the persona she presented but i always found her strict and overbearing and never seen her overly affectionate to Abe besides saying babe. Many people have said this but if she really cheated given her past relationships im truly disappointed.
Wishing both the best, Abe should be strong but Wendy should try and be strong as well. She may or may not have been in the wrong but for the entire internet to be so against you after one stream and one tweet and for your entire social group support someone else that could be harsh on your mental.
