Coming from a person who had been the side chick for almost a year a few years back: I knew he had a gf which made me put my guard down. My feelings already got too strong when I actually realised wtf I was doing I was still a teenager and just got swept off my feet like that. I was utterly in love with the guy. The GUILT that I feel and the disgust becuz my dad has been cheating on my mom for most of my life, I became the exact person I despised. I didn’t tell even one of my frds the whole time becuz I was ashamed but keeping it in the whole time was actual torture. I know what I hv done was disgusting and horrible but at the same time I understand Leslie. She was going through touch a tough time that it is so easy to emotionally attachment to the nearest person that shows even the smallest amount of understanding and relatability. I’m not defending her and I’m not defending myself either. From what i see, i can tell that she is still more mature and adult than many other people in this world. She claims that she is sorry and tell the story to everyone on the stream even though she knows that some of them will hate her after. That's a courage that most people don't have. And also don't forget that there are a lot of men/women who stole another's husband or wife and not feel guilty about it.
Reading the comments here on youtube tells me people have never actually gone through any of this. They have never bonded with someone emotionally and wanted to be with them when they can't. When that person makes the choice that they dont want to be with their partner but you, all reasoning falls apart. You want to be with that person because of how happy you are just speaking to them. Its easy to say, "I'll never fall for a married person" when you have no married or even possibly any friends.
I can tell some of these people either 1. Never lived an actual life and are under 17. Or 2. Can't think of the full picture. It's not as black and white as people are making it. They're acting as if she took the family dog, started being a mom figure to possible kids that were involved, and started wearing the wife's clothes. This is someone who was very vulnerable and hurt enough tell herself it's fine rather than someone who is completely uncaring of other people. She probably told herself the wife wouldn't be hurt because they're technically separated or getting divorced soon She could've genuinely thought they were separated, falling out of love, about to sign the papers, etc. (Even if it's cliche, you think "well my case is a little different so that's not me") and not someone who just said, "I don't care you're married."
Also love isn't always a conscious thing. As in Fuslie didn't wake up and go, "my plan is to fall for a married man. I will talk to this married man until we have feelings."

She needed a pr person so badly, she could've handled this situation way better and got way less backlash from it. I understand trying to feel genuine and do it by "being yourself" but she shouldn't have chose that option. There was a way she could've handled this situation and came out with at least 75% less backlash than what she's getting now. Alot of her wording being fixed, some little shifts in her mannerisms(the laughing, I know people cope differently but she should've worked that out beforehand) , not bringing up the "I'm a woman so they'll go harder on me", adding a bit more details about how she tried to apologize to the wife, not spilling the beans about thinking her and him could be an item and that she was waiting on the divorce(nobody would have ever known that) , being herself while doing all of this and add a drizzle of more crying and it wouldve been a very solid apology.

I dont watch leslie, i have always thought of her as pretentious and a follower. That aside, i am crying as i watched this because this hits home on so many level! I was also in her shoes once when i was younger. Was in a relationship with an older mature man and we broke up due to wrong place, wrong timing and too wide of an age gap. I was way too young to be able to understand him and his worries even though i truly loved him and felt he was it for me. After we broke up, i ended up in this...emotioneless yet emotionally sensitive limbo. I dont know how to explain it but long story short, i ended up trauma bonding with a long time friend. Caused him to break up with his fiance. It didnt hit me until he told me he was going to fly down to visit me when i broke down and had to face reality. what i have done to not just me and him but his life and her life too all because i was so lost emotionally and i felt like i was understood and that there was no one else who could comprehend on the same wavelength with me. And as Leslie says, the mind is a crazy and powerful muscle, u will continue to justify all ur wrong doings every step of the way, basically manipulating urself till ur so far deep that u dont even know what ur doing is wrong! Like to an outsider, its as simple as, ur a homewrecker, u messed up a relationship but as someone whos on the inside, its like, "well i was in their shoes, im just helping them." "Oh he understands me, heres what happended to me too!" "Oh we are the same!" "He understands me when no one does!" "Oh theyre on the verge of breaking up! I feel bad!" "It hurts me when hes sad! I want to help him." "I want to be there for him, hes suffering, he should leave her." "I can make him happier! He should be with me" That was pretty much my mindset till i realized...i am the reason they were breaking up! I havent appologized because by the time i realized it, the gf was no longer on speaking terms with him and so she didnt want to speak with me either and i have cut him off and have not talked to him since but to this day, it still hurts me and its my biggest smear in my life.

But “mistake,” and “mishap,” is much different than bad decision making, poor choices and violations. What she did is a violation, a conscious decision made for benefit intentionally. It is bad decision making in the highest, but it is not a mistake. If I accidentally dropped a jar of peaches and it broke, that’s a mistake. There's alot here. My marriage ended with my ex and my former bestie getting together. In watching this I can understand that she is human. I hope that people understand that judging her isn't making them better people. She at least sees her flaws and is trying her best to own them. I think a lot of people forget that we are all human. We make mistakes. Even if we have strong morals (like knowing cheating is wrong), shit happens. You can hear her emotions throughout this entire video, she knows she fucked up, but we are human. We trauma bond; that is what humans do. I don't understand why people are so mad at her? She seems genuine enough to me in terms of her intentions and apology. The way I see it, she got too close to a married man/coworker on the basis of both of their relationships going poorly - hers ended and his ending. She's right that she should have nipped it in the bud - if she was the wife and her husband was talking to another woman about their marriage, it would be inappropriate. So the emotional cheating was inappropriate and wrong, and that was her biggest mistake. Her second mistake was letting it go on so long that she caught feelings, and fantasizing about getting with him as soon as he was divorced. As soon as she realized what a bad direction she was heading in, the poor decisions she was making, how her intentions didn't seem so innocent anymore, and that she was starting to feel guilty and making excuses, she checked herself. They cut it off. They both said there was no physical cheating, which is always the biggest fear and what makes such emotional relationships so inappropriate. She doesn't seem like a person with bad character who did this intentionally, more like someone who got attached to the wrong person during a rough patch and took a bit long to correct herself. Idk I feel like all parties had their reasons and ultimately as long as nobody did anything terrible, it is excusable. I feel bad for the wife but apparently their marriage was falling apart even before Leslie entered the picture so idk.
When we're at the lowest and most vulnerable, trauma bonding can definitely lead to comfort. The thing is, given the context provided by Leslie here, Noah already committed to the cheat and most likely was plotting. And Leslie, admitting she had to go through the mental gymnastics ignored her due-diligence and discipline, because she knew it was wrong to overly trauma dump and what happens next will count as cheating/homewrecking, even if she's already single. Even if Leslie informed the close roommates beforehand, the fact remains that the allegations leading to this confession were brought up by a 3rd party, not the people directly involved. I understand that public figures often face backlash, but owning up to a mistake and correcting it as soon as possible is a far better approach for both public image and genuine remorse

If you can sympathize with Leslie's pain from her breakup, try to understand what Martina must have through. She married someone she believed was 'the one' and supported them throughout their entire RUclips career, only to be betrayed by them cheating with someone else. Martina saw her partner as someone who would stand by her no matter what. But in an instant, all the history, love, and time they shared was shattered because Leslie was selfish and couldn’t respect boundaries. YEARS down the drain and gone. Coming from a person who had been the side chick for almost a year a few years back: I knew he had a gf which made me put my guard down. My feelings already got too strong when I actually realised wtf I was doing I was still a teenager and just got swept off my feet like that. I was utterly in love with the guy. The GUILT that I feel and the disgust becuz my dad has been cheating on my mom for most of my life, I became the exact person I despised. Reading the comments here on youtube tells me people have never actually gone through any of this. They have never bonded with someone emotionally and wanted to be with them when they can't. When that person makes the choice that they dont want to be with their partner but you, all reasoning falls apart. You want to be with that person because of how happy you are just speaking to them. Its easy to say, "I'll never fall for a married person" when you have no married or even possibly any friends.
I can tell some of these people either 1. Never lived an actual life and are under 17. Or 2. Can't think of the full picture. It's not as black and white as people are making it. They're acting as if she took the family dog, started being a mom figure to possible kids that were involved, and started wearing the wife's clothes. This is someone who was very vulnerable and hurt enough tell herself it's fine rather than someone who is completely uncaring of other people. She probably told herself the wife wouldn't be hurt because they're technically separated or getting divorced soon
She could've genuinely thought they were separated, falling out of love, about to sign the papers, etc. (Even if it's cliche, you think "well my case is a little different so that's not me") and not someone who just said, "I don't care you're married."
Also love isn't always a conscious thing. As in Fuslie didn't wake up and go, "my plan is to fall for a married man. I will talk to this married man until we have feelings."

She needed a pr person so badly, she could've handled this situation way better and got way less backlash from it. I understand trying to feel genuine and do it by "being yourself" but she shouldn't have chose that option. There was a way she could've handled this situation and came out with at least 75% less backlash than what she's getting now. Alot of her wording being fixed, some little shifts in her mannerisms(the laughing, I know people cope differently but she should've worked that out beforehand) , not bringing up the "I'm a woman so they'll go harder on me", adding a bit more details about how she tried to apologize to the wife, not spilling the beans about thinking her and him could be an item and that she was waiting on the divorce(nobody would have ever known that) , being herself while doing all of this and add a drizzle of more crying and it wouldve been a very solid apology.

I dont watch leslie, i have always thought of her as pretentious and a follower. That aside, i am crying as i watched this because this hits home on so many level! I was also in her shoes once when i was younger. Was in a relationship with an older mature man and we broke up due to wrong place, wrong timing and too wide of an age gap. I was way too young to be able to understand him and his worries even though i truly loved him and felt he was it for me. After we broke up, i ended up in this...emotioneless yet emotionally sensitive limbo. I dont know how to explain it but long story short, i ended up trauma bonding with a long time friend. Caused him to break up with his fiance. It didnt hit me until he told me he was going to fly down to visit me when i broke down and had to face reality. what i have done to not just me and him but his life and her life too all because i was so lost emotionally and i felt like i was understood and that there was no one else who could comprehend on the same wavelength with me. And as Leslie says, the mind is a crazy and powerful muscle, u will continue to justify all ur wrong doings every step of the way, basically manipulating urself till ur so far deep that u dont even know what ur doing is wrong! Like to an outsider, its as simple as, ur a homewrecker, u messed up a relationship but as someone whos on the inside, its like, "well i was in their shoes, im just helping them." I don't understand why people are so mad at her? She seems genuine enough to me in terms of her intentions and apology. The way I see it, she got too close to a married man/coworker on the basis of both of their relationships going poorly - hers ended and his ending. She's right that she should have nipped it in the bud - if she was the wife and her husband was talking to another woman about their marriage, it would be inappropriate. So the emotional cheating was inappropriate and wrong, and that was her biggest mistake. Her second mistake was letting it go on so long that she caught feelings, and fantasizing about getting with him as soon as he was divorced. As soon as she realized what a bad direction she was heading in, the poor decisions she was making, how her intentions didn't seem so innocent anymore, and that she was starting to feel guilty and making excuses, she checked herself. They cut it off. They both said there was no physical cheating, which is always the biggest fear and what makes such emotional relationships so inappropriate. She doesn't seem like a person with bad character who did this intentionally, more like someone who got attached to the wrong person during a rough patch and took a bit long to correct herself. Idk I feel like all parties had their reasons and ultimately as long as nobody did anything terrible, it is excusable. Even if Leslie informed the close roommates beforehand, the fact remains that the allegations leading to this confession were brought up by a 3rd party, not the people directly involved. As someone who has supported Leslie and her work for a long time, I find what she did unforgivable. Leslie herself went through tremendous heartbreak with her split from Edison, which was already incredibly painful. Now, imagine being in Martina’s shoes (NoahJ456’s now ex-wife). If you can sympathize with Leslie's pain from her breakup, try to understand what Martina must have through. She married someone she believed was 'the one' and supported them throughout their entire RUclips career, only to be betrayed by them cheating with someone else. Martina saw her partner as someone who would stand by her no matter what. But in an instant, all the history, love, and time they shared was shattered because Leslie was selfish and couldn’t respect boundaries. YEARS down the drain and gone. This is just my opinion and you can support who you want to but what Leslie did is just so selfish and is reprehensible. Her and NoahJ456 are both just as much fault.
