The silver strip of paint on the belly, was on every UAL aircraft during the Saul Bass livery, the 'Battleship Grey' livery, and the 'Rising Blue' livery. It's sole purpose was for debris protection. It's directly behind the nose gear, and leads behind the center fuel tanks along the broadest area of the fuselage. The areas that are most prone to scratches and damage from debris thrown up from the tires.
The last Battleship grey United aircraft was N509mj painted in October 2014. The last grey 77-2 was repainted in nov 2012. Great model review. A also prefer the Blue Tulip livery. Etops is 180 for the 777.
MiJit HD, I have this model in my possession along with the Cathay Pacific B777-300ER New Livery, Air New Zealand B777-300ER All Blacks, EVA Air B777-300ER New Livery,Lufthansa B747-8i Retro Livery and majority of my past models.Great Review as always.
JC Wings also made a Boeing 757-200 in this color which I was going to get at one time but wish I did. I would like to have a United Boeing 757 in previous livery.
Amazing review MiJiT! Your reviews never fail to disappoint and you always seem to collect the best models mate. Thanks for sharing your experience with us and I love learning that little bit more each review.
+Dj's Aviation Thanks so much mate!! I love sharing my own knowledge and knowledge I have gained by researching about the model. I'm glad it carries over and this is what gets people engaged.
Also, "working together" was actually a program, started during the 777 program where engineers would work together with each other as well as those who built the aircraft itself to make designing the aircraft easier, there's a 5 part documentary on here (youtube) called 21st century jet Building the 777 that does a pretty good job explaining it. Otherwise, pretty good review, I really like mines
United flies with the 777 to Sao Paulo from Chicago and Washington. Houston they use the awesome 787-8 and Newark the ''okay I guess but I'm going with AA'' 767-400 :).
+Steve Rogers Sorry I didn't include South America. It didn't show up anywhere for their 777 routes. I probably should've checked the flight logs on FR24.
+YMML SpottingTeam Thanks mate!! It's a shame that not many great liveries really get their time to shine, and this one definitely, should've lasted longer.
I have a hard time choosing one model to begin 2016. The following models I'm interested are : the United 777, Boeing 747-400 prototype and the Lufthansa 747-8 retro. Which one should I get first ?
+daniel sangom If you have short money and will take sometime to buy another model, than the 777, 'cause this is an old livery and probably will not come back in a different model.
+daniel sangom I think they will all sell out relatively fast. I would suggest getting the United 777 first as I think that will become more of a rarity much faster than the others.
the rising blue livery was unveiled in 2004 not 1997. The battleship gray livery came out in 1993-2004. it was a nice livery when it was unveiled, but sadly did not look good as it aged, At SFO, their hub it looked awful seeing these planes in heart haze in summer. I t did look best in the evening sundown lighting. The best united livery for me was the sal bass livery from 1978-1993
+Ross Clabburn After I made the mistake JC Wings informed me that it used to be 2077 but I was also correct for pointing out that 2477 was right. The reason I said 2077 wasn't correct in the first place is because all info I gathered on this aircraft only mentioned 2477.
yes your correct it used to be 2077 then became 2477 confusion over there has been numerous complaints about this model the pylons and the engines are wrong but i think it looks fine doesnt bother me much but quality control does
In my opinion, of all these 2010s livery changes around the globe, United was the worst. I said before, with the exception of the Dreamliners, the new livery isn't nice, this grey one + the blue were the real deal!
+Steve Rogers I don't believe this was the worst livery change in the 2010's but I agree with your other points. It seems as if it was quite rushed with the merger that they couldn't be bothered doing a proper rebranding of their image.
Fantastic Model!I use to travel on this airline before when I was 38 years old.
+Hung Tran How was it when you flew on them?
It was a great flight. We traveled on the United 747-400 from Tokyo Narita to SeaTac Airport.
Hung Tran That sounds good.
I know.
Such a good review!! A very cool airplane!!
+Gurpreet Lamsar Thank you!!

+Jun Yan Yap Thank you!

+Phoenix Models73 Thank you!!

Dam I miss this livery 😢😢😢😢. Great review and thanks for sharing I must get this one day
+Matt Gibby Thank you!! Most of the great liveries are gone which is a shame.
Nice
+Cyril Uebbing Thanks!

+GeminiJetsJAYXXX Thank you very much!!

I will be looking out for those reviews. Thank you!
excellent video
+Ultimate PlaneS Thanks!

It's a really nice model but in my opinion I like the Horizon blue livery more, it has something modern, but anyway a perfect Review!
+Gamecop I agree with you. Thank you!
Amazing model mate! Just because of this review, I really want this model!
+AmtrakSpotterHD | Aviation & Rail Videos Thanks mate! You can't go wrong with this model.

Have the same model as well and the battleship grey is absolutely gorgeous. Almost an outcast amongst the sea of white planes. lol
+Justin Javellana Definitely! Too many white aircraft and this is why I think the early 2000's had the best liveries.
Beautiful model mate, I sure do miss that livery!
+HD Melbourne Aviation Sure is mate! These classic liveries from the 90's will always be considered some of the best.

MiJiT HD Don't bother :).
Gorgeous model. Would definitely get if I collected 1/200. Great review, MiJiT.
+854zman Thank you!! No doubt it's a beautiful model.
What a spectacular looking model. A part of me certainly misses this livery! Great review mate! Likes
+YMML SpottingTeam Thanks mate!! It's a shame that not many great liveries really get their time to shine, and this one definitely, should've lasted longer.
Wow!!!)))
How many models do you have now? 😁

+Steve Rogers you think ? The model has a few flaws but still interested in it.
+daniel sangom I think they will all sell out relatively fast. I would suggest getting the United 777 first as I think that will become more of a rarity much faster than the others.
Do you still have this and would you sell?

+Michael Restivo Soory about that. Looking back at my info I got it messed up with when one of their new corporate logos were introduced.
how much does this cost?
the chance
that looks like united airlines flight 93
Same livery but different aircraft type.
2077 appears to be correct ive seen pics of this aircraft with 2077 on it
my apologies this is 2477 but used to be 2077 when it first flew my apologies

whats your opinion on the grey too dark or the correct shade it does look darker than the inflight ones
