I remember when these short-range 777s were new and United was really proud of them! I've never flown on one of these high-density domestic ones though.
A month ago my wife and I flew a United 777 redeye from SFO to EWR, it was our first time riding on it and it was great!! We sat in row 57 and had an IFE screen. Smooth flight and we'll do it again. Nice video👍🏾
we were living in denver when the new airport opened ....soon after the united 777 flew in from IAD ....for its first flight...watched it come into the gate at terminal B......remember seeing the ETOPS on the front side
I heard the pilot announce before landing in Denver that we will be landing on runway 35L which I think is pretty cool he announces that before landing, and they are going to add seat back screens in economy to the domestic 777s, WOW! That’s so awesome. Didn’t know that until you mentioned it in this video, thanks for the update! I took a UA 777 from ORD-DEN 2 days ago which was this exact same kind and it would have been a crazy good surprise if I unexpectedly ended up on the one retrofit with the seat back screens! It’ll therefore slightly be getting a little easier to see UA’s safety video play on domestic flights!
I like the idea of using the older 777s on domestic routes, as the 787-10 and 777-300ER replace them on long haul routes. So many airlines got tunnel vision on frequency frequency frequency and only used widebody aircraft for their range, while forgetting that they also have excellent capacity. I think it's very useful for high demand routes and slot restricted airports to be able to take over 300 people on one flight vs 2 or 3 narrowbodies taking up slots and gate space.
Nice trip report! Good to hear that UA is going have IFE back on domestic flights. The flight was so crowded, I can't believe my eyes that I just saw a full flight in the US during COVID
Also super excited that United is bringing back IFE screens. For me, I want ife for any flight over three hours. Don’t mind personal device under three. Can’t wait to see what it offers!
Always with the face mist. Lmao. Great report as always. Your reports always give a full run down on everything, from the hotel, arriving at the airport, boarding, takeoff etc.....keep up the great work dude.
Hey! I just ramped this plane the other day @ SFO! I often see this tail number as well as N773UA doing either SFO > EWR or SFO > HNL, and once in a blue moon, SFO > OGG... The other night I was up in the tail (bulk pit) loading last minute bags, mail, human tissue, and some hazmat... Love this plane
@@brysonbradford8622 Agreed. The United 777-200s are often used on 9-10 hours flights, no IFE is not ideal. I believe it is to save weight in the high-density layout. The dense 2-4-2 business/first seating has IFE.
I love flying on Widebodies Domestically. I have Flown MD-11, DC-10, 777 and 787 from ORD-DFW. Also flew on an MD-11 from ATL to MCO a couple of times.
Great video! I really enjoyed it. I have never been on a United domestic 777, but I would love to try it one day. It’s always cool to see these late 1990s classics still up and running. I personally prefer my IFE through a personal screen.
I flew aboard this exact plane (I know that because I checked the N# and saved it when I realized just HOW OLD the aircraft was haha) in December 2019 SFO-ORD and it was amazing to think it existed before I was born! At night the lighting looks so vintage as it’s the very old type orangey tinted lights, got a real kick out of it. Also how do you stabilize your video for takeoffs and landing?? So smooth. Great video

That would sound great also, honestly anywhere to Honolulu. Reason being, because nothing beats that beautiful sight of Waikiki and that whole area when flying in. Have you flown Hawaiin Airlines from California?
Great video and 😍 the B777. Just one piece of feedback personally, could be to just maybe reduce the time of text a little bit. For example, the text goes away just as you’re about to touchdown. Maybe just leave a little bit of the approach at the end free of text. You’ll get a lot of av geeks like me watching these reviews, I wanna see a beautiful approach without loads of white text just before touchdown. But as I said, cracking video, can’t wait for the next one 💯❤️
Kind of strange watching this after the UA incident yesterday. This is the first video I watched because schools kept me busy! Love the 777 and the incredible engines. Would love to have the chance to fly on it one of these days. Also that face mist scene was hilarious! How did it feel?!

It put me off to see your flight attendant not wearing disposable gloves when serving your row. And while deltas service is lacking compared to United, I will choose delta for the added space in the Cabin until they stop blocking seats.
In October I'll fly this plane type from maui to sfo. It's just par for the course that airlines are pretty much universally packing all 777 variants with ten abreast in economy. I'll avoid American and United on any long haul on a 777 in favor of an Asian carrier if I can.
