I'm just getting started with 40k and I chose spacewolves as my faction because the lore was so appealing and I'm all for the space viking idea. Love this video man! Giving me a ton of ideas for the future
Completely agree with the Horus Heresy aesthetic (often) being cooler than 40k, in terms of minis at least. I'm putting together a bit of a similar project combining 3d printed parts (basically 1:1 with FW kits), resin characters, and new HH2.0 plastic. The end result should be a loyalist Thousand Sons army for 40k games, that definitely doesn't look like standard first born or primaris marines.
When it comes to Thousand Sons, you'd definitely need some help from a printer! Sounds like a good plan. Even though as a Wolves player I should be disgusted haha
@@JamsMiniMods I hear ya 😁 In case you weren't aware, in the recent HH campaign book Siege of Cthonia, one of the loyalist factions are a few thousand strong group of Thousand Sons who fled Prospero and never sided with chaos.
Dude I just started a small Stormcast project to practice for a larger space wolf project too. These sculpting techniques are exactly right. For a cheaper option, sculpting in super sculpy is way more affordable by bulk, easier to sculpt and just needs to be cooked for 15 mins before application. You could probably even make a few molds with it. Can’t wait to see this progress!
These lads look really cool! My blood angels successor is very horus heresy inspired as well, with my plan being only using units with HH bits and only HH vehicles.
Good luck man. Horus Heresy is awesome and the Space Wolves are really cool. I actually started my own passion project in August last year. An entirely Firstborn Imperial Fists army. Currently at 14,000 points assembled and around a quarter of that painted. Look forward to seeing your progress bud.
I was already planning to do a similar layered metal paint job on some Horus Heresy Space Wolves but this video has inspired me to go even further. Awesome stuff!!!
If you really want unique, 3D kitbashing is the way. Already designed 30 independent grey slayers for heresy. Absolutely loving the flexibility and the fact I can true scale anything.
Jim Jam, good to see you back. Models looking sweet. Admit Wolvies have so many 3rd party options these days. I'm working on a Red Scorpions HQ squad and a Culln Dreadnought, kit bashed of course. Hope to see more of your work down the track.
I'd definitely be interested in a full tutorial for this color scheme, especially for a vehicle! I'm painting my 40K Space Wolves army in almost the same color scheme, so I'm very curious how you'd paint a vehicle! Love your approach to Space Wolves (kitbashing) and the painting you've shown so far :)
Recently found your channel and really enjoy your videos! Awesome to see the whole process around a project. I know these videos must take quite a bit of effort to make!
Great video, just got up to the bit where you make the fur cape and your technique seems mental! It looks great but it must take ages to do? I've used some fur moulds/templates from greenstuff world and it's super quick and easy to do so I'd recommend doing that over your current way of doing things.
Thank you. It does take quite a bit of time. Yeah I've used the green stuff world texture plate for years. Made a video on it. It's an amazing tool to get fur done quick. But I'm always trying to improve my sculpting skills.
I've been waiting almost 2 years for this video. It's been well worth the wait.
Haha, well it's kinda sad when you say it like that. 🤣 But thanks man. Now to do the rest!
@@JamsMiniMods I can't wait to see them trampling traitors in the store.
@devildogwargaming7594 maybe even some loyalist bird boys haha
Finally a threat to Upplander’s unchallenged space wolves army
Now that would be a challenge! Haha
Just seen Uplander for first time thanks to this! Totally inspirational. Thanks 😊
glad to see yah again my friend. also, glad you are doing this project.
Thanks Matt!
Aye love seeing more space wolf content always love the creativity people put in their personal army’s
The wolves are definitely one of the best armies to customise.
I like the darker Grey sw scheme more than their current blue
Same here!

You've made a good choice.. but with all the Space Wolf videos I've done, I might be a bit bias! Haha

@tiberiumnp8030 I didn't know that. Thats pretty cool. I know there was that one loyalist 1k son that joined the white scars as well

Thanks. That sounds really cool, would be pretty unique.
This project is lit as I enjoyed your HH inspired primaris force as the aesthetic of Space Wolves during HH is just mint.
Thank you! Yeah, I've really started to prefer the look of Heresy era marines now.
Gonna follow your Journey. I love these kind of projects.
Thanks! Hopefully I'll get some more out soon.
I'm also creating a Space Wolf passion project. This is great and inspirational.
That's great to hear! Would be cool to see when you're done.
For a guy who say's he's not that good of a painter, those look amazing 😊
Haha thank you, really appreciate that!

Thank you! Going for a metal scheme on the wolves? That would be great to see!
Give me a few months to get to this one 😆
@@jamizilla87 I'll still be here haha!
Great video, the green stuff work really helped me approach sculpting myself.
That's great to hear! Thank you! 🤟
Going to 30k is the best thing ive done since 40k!
I am really enjoying the models more

Printing will definitely give you better results. But right now I'm trying to challenge myself to sculpt more.
That's not kitbashing its just designing and 3d printing a custom model

Beyond incredible, fantastic work. Truly inspiring !
Far too kind, thank you!
Oh wow, they're glorious! Great stuff fur real!!
Haha I see what you did there. Thank you!
Awesome video! Selfishly want you to keep doing these long, full army videos! These are some of the best looking mk6 I've seen.
Thanks man, really appreciate it. I enjoy doing these longer videos, so I'll definitely come back to it when I can!
LOOKING GOOD!!!!!!!
Thank you!! 🤟
So sick, looks amazing
Thanks Danny! 🤟

Is this the thirteenth tribe? Cheers mate, Brother maker.
I haven't really picked one. Just a random company right now. 🤟
You gonna use the new mkIII kit? It’s really good looking and fits the wolves aesthetic.
I'm going to use mostly mk3, I started these guys before the new kit released. So the beakies will just be back up marines.
@@JamsMiniMods Oh hell yeah! I’m excited to see what you do!
great effort!
Thank you!
great job, realy amazing

Love your greeenstuff work. Subscribed.

Milistuff is a fairly common conversion recipe honestly
It is good

Wonderful and very ispiring! I might steal some idea from your work

Awesome job. Russ approves 👍🏻
Thanks Paulo! 🤟🐺🤟
This might come as bit of an odd query; but what model of camera are you using to record the top-down and rotational view?
It's the Canon m100. It's decent for the price.
Super!!!!
Thank you!
Hey , what colors exactly do you use for the armor . Amazing work btw !
Hey! I used Mechanicus Standard Grey, Dawnstone and Administratum Grey. In that order. Thank you. 🤟

One of the terminators looks like a bald Santa Claus)))
Haha you're not wrong
Where do you get textured plastic card? I've never seen one in my life
I bought mine from my local games store. But I'm sure there must be some places online that sell them.
I'll never get amazed enough by how ridiculous Space Wolves are.
Those are wild Orks, not Imperial Space Marines.
🤣
The ridiculousness of 30k/40k is the best part haha
