8:09-8:13 What the heck was all that about? Especially with Mickey getting so mad and telling that girl pal of his to “Shut Up” for some strange serious reason when she was just about to tell him what it is that Shin was doing. In other words… “Why did Mickey suddenly get so mad and tell that girl to “Shut Up” when she was actually just about to tell him what it is that Shin was doing?”
A: Kim's not a girl B: Kim was trying to tell him that Shin was probably dead, but Mickey was denying that possiblilty so he quickly told him to shut it because he didn't want to hear him say it. He wasn't so much mad at Kim as he was worried about Shin and processing the fact that he might not make it back. He lashed out because he was scared for his friend, not because he was angry.
Depends.. there was a calendar wich showed a certain date-day wich could be only 1979 or 1984.. in the OVA it was asumed to be 1984 because there was planes wich didnt appeared until early 80s like the F/A-18 or the F-20 TigerShark. and Area88 is suposed to take place during the last year (at most) of the war.. so it couldnt start in 1979 and drag until 1984
As for why the F-8 went down in a few hits, those MiGs are firing 23 mm high-explosive cannon shells. They're not just bullets, they actually explode on contact. And they hit the engine directly and ignited a fuel line. That's the equivalent of slashing the plane's throat while stabbing her in the heart. The Crusader is a tough bird, but even she can only take so much, and they got her right in her soft spot.

@@zachboyd4749 Oh, okay… I see now, sir.
Actually more like 1979-1982
@jbelux Actually the series is set in 1984
They shoot down his plane because it was malfunctioning or running out of fuel. 8:50 on shot is beautiful.
That would be sweet!

how can 3 shoots tack down a beast like that god i would have shot them down in a flash
7 v 1 with a faulty engine? Good luck with that. Even the best pilots couldn't pull that off given that hand.
