I remember seeing that in the first bass player comments video. My absolute favorite spin was Henning reading a dumb text and saying "p*nis p3nis p3nis. P3nis."
It blows my mind how anyone can watch this channel and think that you are here for anyone other than the garage artists. To me the appeal of this channel is that you are just a regular dude who did audio engineering as a side gig for decades, the same boat I want to be in. This channel is my spirit guide.
I'm mostly a blues/jazz/folk musician and work in my own studio. I've learned a ton from your show... and find it entertaining. Keep it up man. Do your own thing.
Since I started watching this channel I brought: Kali LP-6 monitors Audient ID 14 Reaper Roswell miniK47 Slate Distressor plugin Slate Mastering plugin PSP Spring Reverb I was also inspired in part to play guitar because of this channel and have been playing for a year now. So yeah this channel has had a big impact in my life.
Surprising how many people attack someone who's content can really help and aid you. Maybe there so close minded that they think they know it all already. Much love Glenn
I think we should be great ful for what you and the team, Henning, Philip, Riffs Beard and all the other are doing for all of us, and for free too! So a great big thank you to all of you! Best always Kim's Workshop
The funny thing about all of these hate comments is that it's not like they're being forced to work with you every day, or something like that. They could just not watch your channel, and feel just fine about things... Congrats on 300, keep em coming! Oh, and a little more yelling please :)
been around since around episode 100 and ever since I'm glued to my sceen waiting for the next episode. Congrats on 300 man, heres to anmother 300 and another 400k subs! Keep rockin Glenn :)
The best show ever! I highly respect , admire and appreciate everything you do Glenn! Thank you so much for this wonderful channel, your courses and sharing your wisdom and experience with us!
Greetings from the UK - your 15 Mistakes video was great! Even my wife laughed out loud when she walked in the room and heard one of your comments. Love the energy!!
You helped me improve my mixing skills so much over the years. Following your advice, I've bought a bunch of equipement and mics and have never been disappointed. Thank you for your videos and knowledge, and I hope you continue to succeed for years to come!
A successful engineer is an engineer who gets the job done and done right. Does not matter who you engineer for and how famous the people are you worked with. Well done Glen. I look up to you as an engineer and a content creator. I have been inspired by your videos time and again. Thanks
The first video I saw of yours was "15 MISTAKES to AVOID When Recording at Home!". Very recent. Very relevant. Very in-your-face. Very honest. Very entertaining. Keep it up.
I loooove your delivery style it's so brutally honest and make me laugh everytime, wich I really appreciate while im learning, Keep the great work dude! Cheers from México!
I'd love to be with one of the bands out there with a huge following, but I'm perfectly happy sharing my music with whomever I can and finding inspiration/learning new things about self-producing and engineering my own stuff alongside Glenn's expertise and experience. Thanks for everything, dude!
And now I've been subscribed to the channel for a full year! I think you're so wholesome and pondered! You have a great approach to what you do, you like to help others and you always allow yourself to be corrected. It's fantastic. I see your screaming as having more or less the same benefit as my long hair. People used to tell me about the hair: "girls don't like long hair. You should cut it short." and some would simply be uncomfortable talking to me because I was the weirdo with long hair. Well, my reply was always "if they don't want to be around me because of something like that, I don't want to be around them either!". Turns out the hair actually made my social life a lot easier, cause the bigotted people would just stay away and I could focus on befriending the best people! Got a girlfriend because of my hair and we've been together for 7 years now. Also, your screaming is always perfectly mixed with the rest of the video! How can someone even complain about it?! Fuck you, Glenn! Even your screaming sounds awesome!
Working with small, new, and local , bands, you may get a chance to work with big time bands before they ever get a sniff of the big time. Maybe Glenn will get the chance someday, as long as the bass player is a very forgiving type.
Glenn, honestly i have pulled a lot of useful information from your videos. they introduced me to the important microphones in the studio world, they showed me how/where to place mics on a drum kit, and (as a drummer myself), gave me great insight on how to set my drums up to make them more engineer-friendly while still allowing me to play properly, lol. in fact, the first time i ever heard of Reaper was from this channel, which i now use and LOVE. thanks for all the laughs, and leave the know-nothings in the dust 🤘🤘🤘
You know what Glen, even though people give you shit about your videos i actually really like them. I have learned a lot through them and have even actually even bought a few things based on your recomendations and have been a fan for about 3 years. A lot of us still appreciate what you do bro.
Congrats on 300 dude... I'm sure I'm not the only one who looks forward to seeing new Spectre vids on their youtube feed.. thanks for the laughs, and knowledge :)
Spectre sound stupid musician texts is what brought me here 5 yrs ago cuz it's fucking hilarious. Glenn is fucking hilarious and he should keep cruising right on down that road.
Congrats on the 300! It's cool to see you finally getting to the point that you realize that most of your viewers use samples. So, helping them out with that is a good thing! Better to have a "good" sample drum sound then a "bad" one. You actually helped me out with that way back a few years ago. USE AN API EQ and PARRALEL COMPRESSION on the drum bus! Thanks man, keep it going!
Glenn, thank you for these entertaining videos. Let the haters hate. I have learned so much for you,Warren and others as a transitioned from a band to recording with only one other person. We are both guitarists and use programmed drums/samples. People should always be learning and seeking out advice. When I was younger, now 53, I couldn’t get any help. Now it is readily available and FREE. For every hater there are 1000 of us who appreciate what you and others do. A happy FU to you.
Congrats, Glen! We met at Downtown Disney during NAMM 2019 and you were super cool to me. I appreciate the knowledge you bestow upon us and keep up the great work!
One thing I don't understand is that people think you can't change ur opinions ever I'm glad you changed your mind about samples and having an open mind
Yea, like it somehow makes you stupid or a bad person to have a different view on something than you did before, people learn and grow, that's all there is to it
Congrats for 300 Episodes. Have watched the majority of them. Cheers from somebody who actually pays attention and doesn't write shitty comments when I disagree about something. You don't always have to agree and disagreeing in a mature and constructive way is how we learn from each other
Embrace the hate, Glenn! Hold it tight, then squeeze the life out of it! I'm no metal aficionado, but I've learned a ton of practical techniques for recording, mixing and mastering for any genre from your videos and have been massively entertained along the way. Looking forward to the next 300 episodes!
Thanks Glenn for an inspiration. It's nice to see someone able to give real reasons for their opinion and stick to their guns. It's easy to look down on yourself in the face of all the haters out there. You always stay strong.
YOU FUCKING ROCK! You deliver the moment most of us are waiting for. It provides us with a direction we never thought possible. And you make us sound better than we deserve :)
Well. Personally, I think it's very nice of Glenn to run his vocal chain through a distressor instead of normalizing stuff down and blowing our ears away every time he shouts.
10:10 Yep, that's normal for professionals to work with people who have no idea how to provide good material for you to work with, or what are the requirements for you to produce gold. Good professionals will take time to make some pedagogy to their clients, and it's a great thing that you do. I'm an illustrator, and for every commission I have to go with the client through plenty of questions about their order and the technicalities of it, because they have no clue about what's the difference between CMYK and RGB or vector vs. bitmap, and don't understand sh*t about intellectual property laws. And it's fine, no one knows everything, it's just the mark of a good professional to educate their own clients, especially for highly technical and specialised jobs. Congrats on the 300th, Glenn! :D
Hey bud, I too am an old rocker. Your style is one of many. And I can appreciate it. Straight talk is awesome. I too have been on the realms of making money and not making money at music. I totally appreciate what you're doing thank you very much. Gear geeks
From black kreek, to aquila, to final stage, everything I've heard from your production is really good. Comments bashing you over 10 lines and yet have 0% accuracy in their words, show that some people can't live with their failure and just try to bring everyone down with them. As a side note, seeing all the albums you have been involved with, I hope you make a video series talking about those experiences, gear used and maybe remixing it with the latest gear and amps you have available
Glen congrats on 300 episode. I absolutely love your channel, i love your approach to recording music and music gear. You remind me very much of the engineer i did my internship with in late 90s. Kep them videos coming and thanks for all the great info and technique i have learned watching your videos.
Just awesome Glen ! Man sometimes I’m laughing so hard I’m crying. And learning something !Love your show. Don’t change a thing! Keep up the great work !
Congratulations on 300. Don’t always agree with everything on your channel. But I’ve learned a lot from it and it’s entertaining. That’s all that matters. Thanks for sticking with it.
I've been a viewer since "The Fans Deserve Better" video and it's been great seeing the channel grow over the years. Time sure does fly, congratulations on your 300
The first and second comments aren't hate comments, they actually have some very valid points. Its a shame Glenn doesn't have much to counter them except making fun and shouting
Glen congrats on 300 Viewer comments, this one was especially fun to watch. Keep up the great work sharing all your knowledge. From a fellow Canadian From Cambridge Ontario, you freakin' rock eh!!
People dont understand the value of what they're getting here.... Years ago, I remember having to BUY magazines and books with hope that I might glean some tidbit of knowledge from an article or two. Those of us who are starting this journey into home recording and have lived before the internet existed appreciate someone who is KNOWLEDGEABLE and (I think accessiblility is highly undervalued in the music industry) providing this valuable resource. Thanks!!!
Fantastic comment about the value of working with beginning/local/regional bands that need help and experience. Also very astute noting that nearly all your commenters and haters will spend their entire careers at that level on one side of the glass or the other.
Congrats on 300, Glenn! I got in trouble with mods for 66samus stream because when a guy criticized Sam I looked up his user name and found Absolutely nothing, no channel, no uploads, no music, no live streams and I said leave it to the people who do nothing creative to judge the value of another's creativity.
*respectful slow clapping after Churchill's quote* Man, I gotta say that I someone had told me last year (or even in college) I'd be learning about music production from an angry Canadian, I probably wouldn't have believed them. Yet here we are and I gotta say I've learned so much from your channel. I actually got here because one of my coworkers at GC showed me one of your vids (can't remember which one was first) and eventually ended up watching and waiting for the next video every week since the lockdown happened. To quote Goethe's Kläffer: "Their loud barkings when they saw us are only a sign that we're riding" Walk tall, my friend. Cheers from Nuevo Laredo 🇲🇽
Let's face it: just like so many people can't work their life out without constantly victimizing themselves, about just as many can't do anything else with what nature generously gave them than constantly dissing what committed people do... because they, themselves, have found no use for their 10 fingers and the mush between their ears, and are not in the least willing to find one ! Mind you, that's precisely how you can spot them ! Great and instructive videos, keep up the good and hilarious work !
Congrats on the 300 Glenn! And yea, the Sneap forum sure did a number on my recording life... Though I just do this recording thing for shiggles and just for myself, I do have gained some pretty good knowledge on that forum ages ago. One being the drum recording guide that some Glenn Fricker typed up... Here's for the next 300, keep up the great work!
When i first started watching the show i used to get pretty tired of it thinking "oh look a shouty metal boomer going off on one". But then i started seeing the viewer comments and stupid musician texts and then it clicked, i finally get just how frustrating it must be to deal with the kind of smooth brains that think they are the next metallica. I then watched more and more as i set up my little home studio setup and learned so much from watching this show! The product reviews are interesting and in depth, the tips and tricks you provide to audio idiots like me are essential at times and i have to say the way you exclaim "Kroms balls" when reacting to things feeds my soul man. Keep up the good work man and thanks for all the knowledge you pass down!
love it! every time I watch your videos I'm reminded why I closed studio to the public... I wish I had the patience you have... but then again, I have my sanity :D Keep on rockin' mister!
Congrats on the 300th Viewers comments Glenn!! I know you’ve mentioned in a few videos that you’ve done film audio. Have you ever considered doing a video on doing production sound on sets? Granted this is a home studio recording channel, but I think it would be pretty cool to hear about other gigs you’ve done audio related outside of the recording studio.
congrats my mango 😎
Lol i litteraly just watched your videos for the first time. Funny seeing you here
e
Oh Rudy is here. I'm gonna unsunscribe from Glenn's channel.
r u congratulating him? Congratulate something else bro
In our next installment of Rudy eats dirt er a I mean ridge racer Rudy rides a bike.
Congrats on 300 episodes and some really great videos!
My favorite thing is the extremely long rambling comments that slowly get higher pitch and faster. lol
Yeah that made me lol too.
That first one was KILLER! 🤣
Pure art.
I remember seeing that in the first bass player comments video. My absolute favorite spin was Henning reading a dumb text and saying "p*nis p3nis p3nis. P3nis."
I keep coming back just to watch that first one!! 🤣
It blows my mind how anyone can watch this channel and think that you are here for anyone other than the garage artists. To me the appeal of this channel is that you are just a regular dude who did audio engineering as a side gig for decades, the same boat I want to be in. This channel is my spirit guide.
Glen: Learns something new and admits he was wrong.
Internet warrior: He WAS t0Ta1ly PWNED!!!1! N0ub
LMAO
Glenn was "P(a?)WNED!!!"? Where?? How much to get him back???
ifkr
I'm mostly a blues/jazz/folk musician and work in my own studio. I've learned a ton from your show... and find it entertaining. Keep it up man. Do your own thing.
Glenn Fricker, the Sam Kinison of metal RUclips! Congratulations on 300 episodes!
Have you ever been so early to a video upload that the butthurt was actually diaper rash?
Pure gold. Keep grinding. I will be thrilled to see what episode 600 looks like.
Since I started watching this channel I brought:
Kali LP-6 monitors
Audient ID 14
Reaper
Roswell miniK47
Slate Distressor plugin
Slate Mastering plugin
PSP Spring Reverb
I was also inspired in part to play guitar because of this channel and have been playing for a year now.
So yeah this channel has had a big impact in my life.
Glenn was cryogenically frozen years ago, and as a side effect of the unfreezing process he has a hard time controlling THE VOLUME OF HIS VOICE!!!
I got so excited about the new BLS box set I LOST MY INSIDE VOICE!!!
Ayy ap reference
He also has no inner monologue....
thats cap
@@bigchiefsmackaho387 and pisses like a racehorse
Congratulations, Glenn! Here's to 300 more episodes of giraffes, burning computer, hockey, and space time lapses.
"Stop sniffing glue" Sounds about right...
or "put the bong down and pay attention" LOL
Surprising how many people attack someone who's content can really help and aid you. Maybe there so close minded that they think they know it all already.
Much love Glenn
Whose*
I move that Glenn creates a new intro video where he includes taking off his glasses seductively while staring at the camera
lol
Seconded! And he has to do that lip lick too... With a wink at the end lol
I feel like I would get more stern father vibes....and other conflicting emotions
Yes! Stare like John Holmes would in the 70s! Hahahahaha 🤘👽
To Careless Whisper
Glen's anger at the fools fills me with joy. Congrats on 300 man. Greetings from the UK
"Put down the bong and pay attention!!"
My stoned ass : 😲😲😲🤯🤯🤯
Likewise, was just picking up the bong when that came on.. >< lol
That was my comment he was responding to. I was certainly very stoned. Felt called out.
I think we should be great ful for what you and the team, Henning, Philip, Riffs Beard and all the other are doing for all of us, and for free too!
So a great big thank you to all of you!
Best always Kim's Workshop
As soon as I see hate comments, I liked immediately.
Glenn...there times in my life, when you are my light! 😊😊😊
I'm loving these early releases Glenn!!! Gives me something to listen to on my way to work!!!!!
The funny thing about all of these hate comments is that it's not like they're being forced to work with you every day, or something like that. They could just not watch your channel, and feel just fine about things... Congrats on 300, keep em coming! Oh, and a little more yelling please :)
“You never recorded famous bands” yeah, but the records I’ve gotten you produced are fucking amazing. Vias is a grossly underrated band
You are actually the only music recording/production channel i watch because no one else is even remotely interesting to me.
Congrats on the 300...the 1st rant where it sped up faster and faster was hilarious!
Keep up the great work...🤘
I haven't lived in my hometown for 22 years and people still talk shit about me. Keep up the good work. 🤘
Mine too. Kinda makes me wanna move back just to irritate them further😂
@@JamesDavis-mm2mi I would but it's snowing up there right now and ya know, fuck dat. 😂

Hey man! Congrats on 300 episodes of rage.
Wow I cant believe I have followed Glenn for almost as long as he has been on YT.. Where does time go?
that final quote is one of my favorites
Congrats on 300 episodes! I would love a full-fledged series of you responding to hate mail. Your comebacks are priceless.
I concur
I love how subtle and sensitive you are when responding to hate mail, myself.... I would just tell people what I REALLY thought lol
Love the bit about someone focussing on how someone turns knobs... Maybe he needs to get his hand off his own knob for 5 minutes.
Along with the "300" theme:
"THISSS! ISS! METAAAAALLLL!"
You helped me improve my mixing skills so much over the years. Following your advice, I've bought a bunch of equipement and mics and have never been disappointed. Thank you for your videos and knowledge, and I hope you continue to succeed for years to come!

Powerful words at the end! I'm going to start remembering that alot more.
300! Holy Fuck! Congrats, man! I've been watching, learning from and enjoying since you were in the low double digits!
Some folk just want to shout off. Rather than engage, it's an instant block from me. Loving your videos.
Well done on 300 episodes! 300 more! Let's make this happen!
Congrats on 300 Glenn!!! Thank you for the free education on audio and recording.
