PLZ help. I cannot figure out how to do the drop down glitch on the fins above the engines. I can everehere else vut when I do it the hdeimos hull appeara on top, not bottom. I imagine the same variant is needed to reposition back up the engines. Can anyone provide detailed steps (controller btw). Thx!

Nice looking beast there! The light fighter competition I find very interesting as I've been trying to get the lowest mass, fully functional combat ship I can made that I still like the look of. Best so far is a Class B running it at 796.
You can break down the mantis to less than 500 mass and it destroys everything, super fast with only 5 engine bars and one style lazer weapon. As class A. but very low cargo hold. But only cost around 20k to modify that way maybe less can't remember.
It requires drop down glitch, which can be done on xbox, also apparently people had issues with the spines above the engines so that'll likely be an issue.
Can anyone tell me the name of the song playing during the first part of the video? The very first one? I tried Shazaam, but it couldn't pick it up through the dialogue.
Huh so i was able to repeat it but the ship i used is now broken it wont show up on any landing sight and entering from a space station is.... weird.. like the ship is invisible and your sranding on nothing kinda weird
For those having trouble figuring out how to do the drop down glitch on XBOX. Stack *2* Demios hull A pieces, then attach the piece you like to glitch too the top hull. Next, delete the top hull. When that’s done, select the glitch piece and that will automatically drop it down to the bottom hull. Hit A and the piece is glitched in. This worked for me on the top of the ship with all the cowlings on top. Unfortunately, I was not able to to get the Demios spines on top of the supernova engines without an unattached module error. So if anyone has figured it out let me know..
Yeah I have the same issue with the spines. No matter how many times I tried the drop down glitch, I couldn't get rid of the unattached module error. Very frustrating!

use the hulls, one hull below and one on top, place the piece you want to drop on the sides of the hull and delete the top hull the peice is attached to, the peice you want to drop should be floating, click the floating piece and it should automatically clip to the bottom hull doing the drop down glitch covering the shield or whatever, delete bottom hull and that's it.
Not sure how you got the ‘unattached modules’ error to go away with the spine on top of the engine. Even w the drop down glitch, I still get the error, but only for the Deimos spines on top of the engines. Can anyone else help me on this?

dup/drop down glitch doesnt seem to work on the spines over the engines, keeps saying i have parts not attached, maybe they fixed something about the glitch
I worked around this by using the flip glitch to stack 2 more spine E inside the engine and connect the top Spine E to the cargo below. Added 8 mass but worked
I just decided to put 2 more spine E into the engine to connect the top spine E to the 10 T cargo. Use the flip glitch to place a spine E on the 10T cargo (place it, flip twice, cancel.) then place another spine E on top of that one, also with flip glitch. At least it makes the connection, and you can save it.
Honestly don’t understand how this game lets stuff work other people but when I try it don’t work Not that I figured out how to drop the engines back in place it’s now saying “ unattached modules “. Like how? I’ve done everything correctly.
Just recently started trying my hand at ship building starting small and upgrading shipyard purchases. Then I saw your F14 Tomcat and I just finished it. What an outstanding build! Seriously I am in awe. It shreds enemies so fast It takes my brain a sec to catch up to the fact there all gone. So well done sir.

Massive props to you good Sir, its another gorgeous design! Just tried to build this beauty of a ship today, but no matter what i did, i couldn't add the demos E spines on top on the engines. I managed to drop down the demos hull, but as soon as i removed the "supporting hull" to put back the F and A spine i got the unattched module error. Anyone has any suggestions how to do it or what i'm doing wrong?
CAn you explain how you did the last glitch for the engines? I can't get them to snap back UP into place and using the dup glitch unsnaps the spines on top.
Build snap points next to, on top of, or below the snap point u want the part on. Then copy the part from that snap and it should copy onto the snap where u want it.

looks awesome! How about instead the first (central) hab and an companionway behind using a 3x1 all-in-one instead? could straighten the access to the docker and landing bay and give you a bed close to the way out to squeeze in the xp-buff just before exiting the ship.
OK I can help everyone having the Spine Es unattached. After you have completed the design and got the unattached error, pull the engines. Then under the hanging Spine Es add 2 HopeTech Riser Bs one on top of the other so they are connected to the cargo bays. Move the cargo bays out and attach a Hull A under the Grav Drive and Fuel Tanks just like you were going to glitch the cargo bays back up. Instead attach a motor to the Hull A, It will only connect to the top motor mount. Now glitch the motor up, leave it and glitch that one up. You will need to do this 4 times and then the motor will be properly mounted. Delete all extra motors. Reglitch up your cargo bays and you are done with fully attached Spine Es. Enjoy.
I'm at the end and followed your guide exactly and I still get an unattached module error when I drop glitch the engines back up? The 2 spine E pieces above the engines are flagging it.
Ok so, you put the part you want on top of the position where you need it to snap, then position your mouse on the part and do the duplicate (Ctrl G) the duplicatedbpart will appear below and green for a moment as long as it has something to attach to. Then just click and it will stay. Hope it would help
@@victorgonzalezspitia I am able to get the item placed just as he did in the video at the 11:15 mark but when I delete the Deimos hull piece so I can drop glitch the engine back in place just like Curtis did, I get the unattached module error. The module is unattached, so I completely understand the error, I just don’t know how Curtis was able to glitch the system to get around that. It’s like his game is counting the spine piece being attached to the engine even though they don’t have any snap points linking them.
Great ship, thanks for showing us how it's done. I made one virtually the same as yours eventually. I had some issues with the drop down glitch not working, the item dropped but try as I might it refused to connect properly, staying red every time I tried. I was able to complete by using the copy glitch instead so I have no idea why the DDG doesn't work for me. Another issue that I am seeing is, when using the ship I can only see the front half as I cannot zoom out far enough with the camera! Shame as I love the ship other than not seeing most of it, anyone know how to rectify this issue? Cheers.
Any chance you can do a short explaining the drop-down glitch? Tried building this tonight and had no clue how to do that. Searched the web for a while and couldn’t find anything. I would LOVE to build this, but can’t figure out how to make it happen.
Once you have the part on the block above or below where you want to place it, duplicate it (ctrl-g on m&k). The duplicate will snap into position. Then accept it.

You cannot put those spines that are all the top of your thrusters on Xbox console will say they are not attached. And the drop-down glitch does not work on consoles you have to do it differently. So currently trying to figure out how to put the spine E on top of the thrusters
THIS IS MY ISSUE. i'm working alternative placements but cannot get the fins to connect atop even if I manage the engines, which don't work easily. Sometimes does, sometimes doesn't
I didn't get it to do it as in the video. But I did manage to change the back design just slightly only thing I did was to add a Deimos Cowling Fore and. Deimos Belly Aft. While keeping the same way as in the video all you have to do is to glitch the Deimos Cowling into the Spine F then connect Deimos Belly to the Cowling. Once you get that just put the Supernova engine on the back once it turns green hit the dupe button until it dupes makes copy going up to the top so it is inside the Deimos Belly. Once you get that side just copy it to the other side. And you're done. If I have to make a video I will.
For everyone who is wondering how the drop down glitch works, although i havent been able to do it exactly like in the video, i found that placing down the 2 2x1's, placing the desired piece and duplicating it (control+g) will drop it down just like in the video. I was able to replicate this build with no mods whatsoever. Also for weapons try 6x Vanguard Oblliterators and 5x Hellion Auto Beams. It shreds ships in seconds
@@JohnMOnRUclipsI like to use either the Fulminator 8000 Suppressors or the Tatsu 501EM’s. They’re both C class weapons though so you’ll need Piloting 4. If you don’t have that I think the Firebolt 4000’s are B class and they’re not bad. Realistically almost any EM Suppression weapon will work decently enough as long as you’re close to the ship you’re trying to disable and you have the weapons fully powered up as the fire rate on EM weapons is really slow. Just maneuver behind the enemy ship, use lock on targeting to pick which system you want to disable, and start firing. EM weapons ignore shields so you don’t have to worry about breaking them first.
From what I can tell by watching this video like 3 4 times when he does the glitch, he places 1 or 2 deimos hulls down first then selects the part he wants and snaps it so its green and pushes f to move the module down and presses attach at the same time. I tried to look on Google for this exact glitch but couldn't find anything just the rotating glitch or using different variants but that's for merging modules together mainly or you can use the copy and paste method, put some hats or hulls down first then place down just above where you want the module then copy and paste it and it should automatically snap onto the snap point below. This is what I've come across so far and I don't know what the buttons are on console I'm afraid😢 hope this helps!!
@@GracieS91 I tried this but I didnt succeed.. I made the ship with the flip glitch and the one that you clone parts with Ctrl+G but I get the error that have parts that are not fixed in the ship
For console/controller if you do the same deimos hull stacking that he does in the video, then lock your piece into place on the highest deimos hull, then delete the highest deimos hull, then once you select the piece it may automatically snap in green to the spot you want. I was able to get them all in after some playing around. But play around with either stacking one or two hulls and deleting as needed to get your piece to snap in
Make a mod for it prebuilt trust me it’ll be in the highest rated list on the mods mods menu and it LOOKS INSANE but I couldn’t build it cuz I didn’t have the correct parts

Subbed.... because Tomcat. For some reason, im following the build by the letter. But for me.. the E spines, just wont stick. I keep on getting error saying modules are not attached. And its just those two spines, the other stuff works great.
I wish I could build this but it’s so difficult to have each one of these parts available at the same time. You have to fly around attaching random parts to your ship and sometimes it makes it not flight-ready, so it’s like this big twisted maze to get all of these parts together on one vendor screen. So in a way I can’t even follow your guide because of Starfield deliberately spreading out all the ship parts

Hell freaking YES!!!! Love the Tomcat ever since I was a kid watching Topgun and then was lucky enough to work on them, my first squadron was the last F-14A squadron. You literally just made my day. Cant wait to get home and build this majestic beast! Hope the drop down glitch works on console though. have not explored that glitch yet.
You know your videos are great except for two things you need to slow down because not everyone is on pc and you can how for console users how to dropdown glitch upwards instead of just expecting us to know
Are you able to get all these parts in one location. If not where can i get each piece. Only build video i have seen where they explain absolutely nothing.
I've got a good question for ship building. If most of the parts for ships is at multiple locations, can you start to work on your ship in one place, stop what you're doing and move to a different location to continue working on your ship? Or do you have to stay at 1 location for the build. I'm still learning what to do.
How is this "drop-down glitch" being done (On PC)? I see that he is using a PC for this also. Is this a Mod or something that allows this to be done? I can get the pieces to go up and down, but there's no way that they "latch" into place when going down (or up) to do this clipping/melding thing. How is this done?
drop down glitch was not obvious to me when watching so after some trial and error here is what worked on PC: hold mouse button on a part and move slightly so it highlights green, now hit F followed super quickly by letting go of mouse button. This forces the part down and since it's no longer being held by mouse, it should snap. Took some practice but now I can do it 90% 1st try. Hope this helps :)

In ur video you said we need the parts beforehand... I don't have some of them (specially the landing gear) on New Atlantis... how can I get those parts beforehand?
Start with a base ship, fly to each of the specialty ship yards, and tack the parts on. You may need to add more landing thrusters, and it looks janky as hell, but once you've got all the unique parts you can head somewhere like an outpost with a shipbuilding station and do your designing there.
You can do what @jasonallen19 said or you can build it enough to close out of shipbuilder, switch ships to something else, go to the next yard switch back to your build and continue, rinse and repeat as necessary.
Love this build but it’s a little harder to make on Xbox. I used the Fusor reactor instead and it worked out better than I expected it to since it blends in much much easier at the bottom. Sadly I can’t do it for the shield so I had to get a bit creative with certain parts of the construction although it’s not a lot of alterations had to be made.

I removed the spines but it still says unattached modules it's so annoying I spent an hour building this for nothing
@@platinumskies7968 I had issues with the shield and the cap that goes on top. I just re did the glitch and it cleared.
Yup i had to cut those spines short because they unattach for some reason, and you can't snap them back to the other spines

A 3x1 could definitely work, so not a bad suggestion, and good for the bed xp as you say.

I was able to complete by using the copy glitch instead so I have no idea why the DDG doesn't work for me.
Another issue that I am seeing is, when using the ship I can only see the front half as I cannot zoom out far enough with the camera!
Shame as I love the ship other than not seeing most of it, anyone know how to rectify this issue?

Once you have the part on the block above or below where you want to place it, duplicate it (ctrl-g on m&k). The duplicate will snap into position. Then accept it.

You cannot put those spines that are all the top of your thrusters on Xbox console will say they are not attached. And the drop-down glitch does not work on consoles you have to do it differently. So currently trying to figure out how to put the spine E on top of the thrusters

THIS IS MY ISSUE. i'm working alternative placements but cannot get the fins to connect atop even if I manage the engines, which don't work easily. Sometimes does, sometimes doesn't
I didn't get it to do it as in the video. But I did manage to change the back design just slightly only thing I did was to add a Deimos Cowling Fore and. Deimos Belly Aft. While keeping the same way as in the video all you have to do is to glitch the Deimos Cowling into the Spine F then connect Deimos Belly to the Cowling. Once you get that just put the Supernova engine on the back once it turns green hit the dupe button until it dupes makes copy going up to the top so it is inside the Deimos Belly. Once you get that side just copy it to the other side. And you're done. If I have to make a video I will.
For everyone who is wondering how the drop down glitch works, although i havent been able to do it exactly like in the video, i found that placing down the 2 2x1's, placing the desired piece and duplicating it (control+g) will drop it down just like in the video. I was able to replicate this build with no mods whatsoever.
Also for weapons try 6x Vanguard Oblliterators and 5x Hellion Auto Beams. It shreds ships in seconds
What about the best weapons for commandeering a ship without destroying it?
@@JohnMOnRUclipsI like to use either the Fulminator 8000 Suppressors or the Tatsu 501EM’s. They’re both C class weapons though so you’ll need Piloting 4. If you don’t have that I think the Firebolt 4000’s are B class and they’re not bad. Realistically almost any EM Suppression weapon will work decently enough as long as you’re close to the ship you’re trying to disable and you have the weapons fully powered up as the fire rate on EM weapons is really slow. Just maneuver behind the enemy ship, use lock on targeting to pick which system you want to disable, and start firing. EM weapons ignore shields so you don’t have to worry about breaking them first.

From what I can tell by watching this video like 3 4 times when he does the glitch, he places 1 or 2 deimos hulls down first then selects the part he wants and snaps it so its green and pushes f to move the module down and presses attach at the same time. I tried to look on Google for this exact glitch but couldn't find anything just the rotating glitch or using different variants but that's for merging modules together mainly or you can use the copy and paste method, put some hats or hulls down first then place down just above where you want the module then copy and paste it and it should automatically snap onto the snap point below. This is what I've come across so far and I don't know what the buttons are on console I'm afraid😢 hope this helps!!

@@GracieS91 I tried this but I didnt succeed.. I made the ship with the flip glitch and the one that you clone parts with Ctrl+G but I get the error that have parts that are not fixed in the ship
For console/controller if you do the same deimos hull stacking that he does in the video, then lock your piece into place on the highest deimos hull, then delete the highest deimos hull, then once you select the piece it may automatically snap in green to the spot you want. I was able to get them all in after some playing around. But play around with either stacking one or two hulls and deleting as needed to get your piece to snap in

Make a mod for it prebuilt trust me it’ll be in the highest rated list on the mods mods menu and it LOOKS INSANE but I couldn’t build it cuz I didn’t have the correct parts
I built it! It's a great ship. I ended up spending $290k so knowing that if I decide to go into a NG+, I know what I need $ to do it again.

I wish I could build this but it’s so difficult to have each one of these parts available at the same time. You have to fly around attaching random parts to your ship and sometimes it makes it not flight-ready, so it’s like this big twisted maze to get all of these parts together on one vendor screen. So in a way I can’t even follow your guide because of Starfield deliberately spreading out all the ship parts

Hell freaking YES!!!! Love the Tomcat ever since I was a kid watching Topgun and then was lucky enough to work on them, my first squadron was the last F-14A squadron. You literally just made my day. Cant wait to get home and build this majestic beast! Hope the drop down glitch works on console though. have not explored that glitch yet.

I've got a good question for ship building.
If most of the parts for ships is at multiple locations, can you start to work on your ship in one place, stop what you're doing and move to a different location to continue working on your ship? Or do you have to stay at 1 location for the build.

How is this "drop-down glitch" being done (On PC)? I see that he is using a PC for this also. Is this a Mod or something that allows this to be done? I can get the pieces to go up and down, but there's no way that they "latch" into place when going down (or up) to do this clipping/melding thing. How is this done?
drop down glitch was not obvious to me when watching so after some trial and error here is what worked on PC: hold mouse button on a part and move slightly so it highlights green, now hit F followed super quickly by letting go of mouse button. This forces the part down and since it's no longer being held by mouse, it should snap. Took some practice but now I can do it 90% 1st try.

Same I had to use different parts as I crafted a outpost and used ship builder and not all the parts were there so I had to use different ones
Can someone explain how you're meant to build a ship when you need parts from multiple ship yards? If there a way of putting parts in your inventory?
Start with a base ship, fly to each of the specialty ship yards, and tack the parts on. You may need to add more landing thrusters, and it looks janky as hell, but once you've got all the unique parts you can head somewhere like an outpost with a shipbuilding station and do your designing there.
You can do what @jasonallen19 said or you can build it enough to close out of shipbuilder, switch ships to something else, go to the next yard switch back to your build and continue, rinse and repeat as necessary.
Love this build but it’s a little harder to make on Xbox. I used the Fusor reactor instead and it worked out better than I expected it to since it blends in much much easier at the bottom. Sadly I can’t do it for the shield so I had to get a bit creative with certain parts of the construction although it’s not a lot of alterations had to be made.
Couldn't get the tail thing to work and had to shop around for some parts but I got there in the end
