In April this year I picked up cycling and my FTP was 174 watts. Seven months later, it’s 274 watts. Consistency, structured workouts and above all, nutrition. I ride 400 to 500k per week and my progress has been amazing so far. My goal is to achieve 300 watts by the year end. Have a FTP test scheduled for next week. I expect another 12 watts increment as I don’t seem to be suffering in my workouts at 274 FTP anymore. Glad to see dedicated and focused folks like yourself. Keep up the great work, man 👍🚴♂️💨
@@JulAlxAU Wow, that's an incredible improvement. Hope to reach the 300 by the end of this year as well. Improved all my nummers (1 Hour, 2 Hours and 3-4 Hours power), so far a great year. Ride on!
Good job! For the past year or so I have been so inactive and become heavy(118kg). My goal will be 90-95 kg and with avg power 360-380 at some time in the future. Preferably in like 2 years. So far you are flying past me up Alpe de Zwift. I should be able, with a good and disciplined year, to reach 277 w for an hour like you and to reach 95 kg. I hope you reach your goal of 300! I am considering posting on RUclips, but I am not quite sure - I do not think I will enjoy it with all the hours editing and so on. On the other part maybe it would give me more motivation to get on the bike for over an hour, people on RUclips love to see cyclists suffer 😅 Too bad the memory of the recording app bottlenecked, would have been fun to see the rest.
Good video but I would focus on shorter videos first. Viewers most likely wont watch a 20min uncommented FTP test. Related to join. I tried using it but since I use an ipad for zwift its quite a pain to import the custom workouts. I guess you use a computer?
Thanks for your feedback! I added the test to be transparant as possible. I understand your problems. Experienced the same. I export them one a week and drag them in the Zwift folder on my pc. After a while you have pretty much all the workouts you need🤣
Well done on the journey, but I would focus more on the long therm riding. Less focus on FTP, more focus on the overall aspect of riding which involved less intensity, but maybe more volume. Some other tips just based on your test now, really try to get that cadence up... 70RPM will burn your legs out, try to aim for at least 85-90. You did seem a bit uncomfortable on the bike (with lots of knee movement as well), so I would also look into a bike fit. I rather have a fantastic bike fit and be slower, than high watts but unstable on the bike.
Thank you, great value! I did a bikefit on my Canyon bikes, my indoor bike is my first old bike, I do agree with you about the movement and cadance, noticed it. Will check it out!
Please let me know your thoughts on the video, help me improve the quality of this channel❤

I’m with TrainerRoad. Question man, how accurate do you find the eFTP in Joy?
I must say, I think its pretty accurate. The app also make sure to do regular testing to get the most out of it.

You should try to capture your journey. It keeps me motivated to keep consistent in training and posting. Good luck. Ride on 😉

when doing a 20min test take 95% of your 20 min power # to get your FTP.
Yes👌

how do you even ride with 70rpm cadence? i cant go below 95
@@lil__apan haha, for me it's the standard rpm when riding in the mountains or during VO2 max.
@@ViveLeVeloNL everyone is different, i can do 200 watts for 20 minutes on 95 rpm and 170watts for 20 minutes on 75rpm
Update?
@@jempanuncialman9361 Hi, I will soon try to beat my FTP. This year I improved myself a lot on longer rides.
