We have talked so many times about her life, and thru our discussions I realized that this strong woman, whom I admire very much, is so much misunderstood. She is not baliw… people are easy to judge and there’s nothing really that she could do about it, Cita just do what she does best and not in the expense of others… when society doesn’t know a subject and only one speaks about it as she said..then labelled her baliw… despite being how resilient she is in her testimonies. Mental health issues were never that of a big deal back then. People would label you crazy and mock you. What happened to her is so sad. I remember hearing rumors about her when I was young, but more than that, I remember her talent. She's one tough lady! Salute!
Sadly, sa bansa lang naten ang ganito. Even this interview is a violation of her individuality. Are all the questions consented? Did Cita agree to get asked in a manner that she will get caught off guard? Why do we need to ask questions that we already know too embarrassing to answer? Why do we need to disclose to people she is having problems with her building landlord and asked around without asking permission to Cita if that’s even a good topic to talk about? It sounded too personal to Cita when she was asked about it. Does it serve the purpose that Mr Julius Babao mentioned “people are concerned”? Is this video meant to call for help? No. This video is just exposing someone’s life without any intention to help but to gain views and earn money from it which makes this very unethical. Asking how she felt with the living conditions that obviously felt like she was embarrassed to answer in the first place is so unnecessary. Unless Mr Julius Babao can prove that she agreed to all the questions, this is an abuse to her already dire situation for the purpose of getting views to his channel. I hope i was wrong, i hope this channel will be an avenue to better opportunities. Otherwise, this video will be a very good example that mental health in the Philippines are never addressed, only exposed for the purpose of entertainment. I have been speaking with organizations who have helped mentally challenged individuals both in New York and LA and with such experience I should say that questions asked in this video are mostly very very inappropriate and lack sensitivity to the person. To be respectful in asking questions, the interviewer should ask first “is it okay if I ask you…”. Most questions are direct and obviously not consensual. And most comments are all stigmatizing. Cita already mentioned how she hated media and mentioned about her bad experiences from the media about her mental health and yet Mr Julius Babao still became insensitive in this video. I do hope that we will do better in treating our fellowmen who have been in crisis - especially the mentally challenged individuals.

Sadly, sa bansa lang naten ang ganito. Even this interview is a violation of her individuality. Are all the questions consented? Did Cita agree to get asked in a manner that she will get caught off guard? Why do we need to ask questions that we already know too embarrassing to answer? Why do we need to disclose to people she is having problems with her building landlord and asked around without asking permission to Cita if that’s even a good topic to talk about? It sounded too personal to Cita when she was asked about it. Does it serve the purpose that Mr Julius Babao mentioned “people are concerned”? Is this video meant to call for help? No. This video is just exposing someone’s life without any intention to help but to gain views and earn money from it which makes this very unethical. Asking how she felt with the living conditions that obviously felt like she was embarrassed to answer in the first place is so unnecessary. Unless Mr Julius Babao can prove that she agreed to all the questions, this is an abuse to her already dire situation for the purpose of getting views to his channel. I hope i was wrong, i hope this channel will be an avenue to better opportunities. Otherwise, this video will be a very good example that mental health in the Philippines are never addressed, only exposed for the purpose of entertainment. I have been speaking with organizations who have helped mentally challenged individuals both in New York and LA and with such experience I should say that questions asked in this video are mostly very very inappropriate and lack sensitivity to the person. To be respectful in asking questions, the interviewer should ask first “is it okay if I ask you…”. Most questions are direct and obviously not consensual. And most comments are all stigmatizing. Cita already mentioned how she hated media and mentioned about her bad experiences from the media about her mental health and yet Mr Julius Babao still became insensitive in this video. I do hope that we will do better in treating our fellowmen who have been in crisis - especially the mentally challenged individuals.
