To be fair, I think in their minds investing in cosmetics is the only worthwhile expenditure since it provides a direct potential inflow of cash. In other words, they only make money on cosmetics, so cosmetics are the only thing they should be spending money on. FTR: I'm not saying that (what I take to be) their outlook is wise, intelligent, or even economically feasible; just that I suspect that that's how they are thinking about this stuff. If my suspicion is correct, then the approach is incredibly reductive and idiotic, to be frank - but, hell! That's business school for yuh 😂
@FashionD2 It's simple, EA made enough cash from apex and reinvesting into it now doesn't make sense to them financially. That's why you see them just push out microtransactions lately. They want to milk as much money from the crowd that is connected to the characters emotionally, that is not aware of what's going on, and that will spend money on the game no matter what before they eventually shut it down. Overwatch is in a similar spot, but compared to Apex they are pushing skins to keep the lights on but EA is pushing them to squeeze every drop of money that is left.

Been playing Apex since day 1, every year people would say the game is "dying." This is just another weak cycle from EA, when they pump out their events in early 2025; numbers will boost and all these streamers/YT CC will swallow Apex's 🍆 like they always do. They just complain for content, but Apex changed when majority of the original Respawn staff left, so people will have to accept it & move on or continue to complain.
@Neszy Agreed, and this is because EA took over after their agreement with Respawn in charge expired. That's why I said people will have to either accept it or continue to complain. I personally accepted it a long time ago, I came back to playing this season, took a break after s21 but I only just grind ranked to diamond and then play other games. I'll log in daily for challenges to level up the (non-paid) battle pass and event challenges.

The difference with Fortnite is that Epic puts in a ton of work to continuously improve their game. You spend money in the shop and it feels like an investment. EA moves the color slider on an heirloom and resells it for full price. The greed by EA is disgusting.

First week player and I was so obsessed with this game. I mained Lifeline and no matter how many buffs and nerfs she got I never left her as I like her because of her personality and her lore, and I like to be a support player for my team. Got heirloom shards on season 10 and instantly unlocked her shock sticks. I was so excited to see her story from the outlands video and purchased her lore skin when it was released with my saved apex coins. Then the game became so deserted because of lack of some interesting new lore. The reborn rework of Lifeline got me back to play this game but I lost the interest again. It's been 2 months now playing Apex no more because of try hards and poor servers.
I got apex shards 2 months ago, bought the raptor's claw recently with it and some skjns for it with the exotics that i kept stacking from battlepass, now that i have a heirloom this game is desserted bro 😭. So much hard work over the 3 years to get shards without paying money and now the game dies. 😭😭

Can't talk to teammates or text in lobby, legend animations for selection intro before match is still broken and some obvious other server related issues. I love this game for being so fast pace and smooth movement. It breaks ny heart to see it die
it's so sad because the original respawn was actually the original Activision that made Medal of Honor Allied Assault and the best COD ever COD 1/2/4 and MW2 then got played VERY dirty for MW3 left then got stuck with EA in their "new" Respawn Studio. I guess it's also their fault since they trusted EA... or maybe they didn't have a choice going with them I have no idea.

Small reminder that this is same company who publishes the same sports games every year with p2w mechanics and has a life sim that has over $1k in "expansions", "kits", and "content pack". A large portion being stuff already in previous games.
It sucks to say because I really want the new buster sword and the Alter heirloom skin but the only way to hurt EA is to stop playing with our wallets. No more battle pass and cosmetic buying. Dropping player count doesn’t matter as long as the ones still playing are buying things.
EA eventually murders every game they get their hands on. Its probably for the best to just not play their games and save yourself the heartache tbh. There are so many other devs out there with love for their game and respect for their communities to support instead
I was a day one player , I played like 8 hours a day for 5 years even when I worked a full time job. I loved this game a lot but there is just something so unbearable about the “skill based matchmaking” which we all know is really engagement based meaning it frequently puts you in unfair situations just because. The solo que experience is just so bad. I wanted to play this game forever but now I just can’t even touch it. I might download and play a match or two for the nostalgia. I miss when worlds edge and crypto first came out 😂

The biggest thing that killed apex for me was arenas, the fact that they made you play bad game mods just to get to tdm was insane. I genuinely had fun with the fast pace style of the game because no other game felt like that on console.
its dying, as an Octane main with 25 k kills playing since season 10 and over 10 million damage, I barely play 2 times per week and playing right now is really exhausting.... Sorry but YES, APEX LEGENDS IS SOOOOOOO DEAAAAAAAD :)
I've been playing for the last 3 years, and I've never seen anyone get 20 kills and 4000 damage in a single game. It seems impossible to achieve. Yes, you can see it on RUclips, but that could easily be rigged.
When you know your game is dying but you change nothing, and make predatory money making schemes by having players gamble with packs in hopes of getting the one they want 🤦♂️ this is not rocket science. What hurts the most is that annoying back in time event where you work hard to make something like 20 kill bomb and a simple 4K but you don't get rewarded for that as in getting a badge or something like that, in addition to that we lost arenas, that was a fun way to tran your skills with squads that hit hard 😂😂😂 no hard feelings
Yeah got two 3k games with LL (without the use of relic weapons because they make the game boring) and nothing for it. Get rid of this event only bs already and being back reg trios. Nobody wants to play ONE MAP ALL DAMN DAY just for the opportunity to get a badge
IMO the most depressing thing about the current state of the game is that not all legends have their own Heirloom after 2-3 years of being in the game but, we keep getting prestige skins, heirloom recolours, and universal heirlooms. Idk why they wouldn’t prioritize every legend having their own unique heirlooms first. There are currently 7 legends that still don’t have a unique heirloom, Catalyst, Newcastle, Vantage, Mad Maggie, Ballistic, Conduit, and Alter, and by the time their heirlooms might be added (if at all) the game will probably be dead/there won’t be any incentive to buy them.
You are absolutely right about the battlepass split. And also the gambling events. Whoever made that thing up is actively killing the game. Apex 2 wouldnt improve it. It would only make the greed worse. There is also no more lore.
I have around 1500 hours in and barely played at all this whole year. My whole issue is match making. I solo pub cue and it ALWAYS pairs me up with two completely new players. I'm talking like like lvl 20-30 it's insane. If I don't carry every single game they I can't win. It's just not fun having to sweat that hard every game. Plus they hot drop every time, get murdered in the first 30 seconds and then insta-leave. I stopped playing BR for this reason and only played arenas, then when they killed that mode I played mix tape but, haven't even done that in ages. This game is absolute torture for solo players, the teammates you get make it painful and not fun. It's sad because I do actually love the game but, I'm not a masochist. I'm playing helldivers and space marine now having tons of fun.

Lore related skin getting a trailer vs two random skins. They didn't make a stories of the outlands for a skin in a while though

That's because EA shut down Apex Legends revenue sharing with every recognized competitive team(Faze, 100 thieves, etc) out there. EA doesn't like sharing about this topic. Competitive teams aren't getting a 50% or 10% cut; they are getting 0%. Blame EA.
I’ve been playing apex since the game launched and it’s been apart of my childhood for so long, seeing it die like this is so disappointing I hope EA sells apex to a company that actually cares about making good games
I quit Apex back in August, I LOVED this game, but it just started getting drier and drier. I thought I was playing in a Desert when playing this. I now have moved over to other competitive games like Delta Force. It's such a same that such an amazing game has to be kept by such a greedy company. Especially when Respawn wants to make this game absolutely INSANE for us.
I bought every BP from S7 til 20. It is completely lost . The BP split was a bad move. I usually hit diamond by mid season, but now, by the time I get there I'm back to gold.
I've been playing since February 4th, 2019 (launch date/the birth of apex). It hurts to see that this game is falling due to greed and lust for money. Not fixing any problems, ignoring the community who cares about the game, but now are losing hope, and finally overpricing and being upset of not making any money that they expected (exactly what happened with season 22. The season didn't bring in enough money that they expected). This game has so much potential but is bad due to bad decision-making. After Season 23, i'm going to retire for good....

I get moving on from Apex because of micro transactions and the greed but moving to call of duty instead is wild I finally bought it on sale for like 52 dollars to play with my brother in law. First thing when I open bo6 is a promotion for the vault upgrade for 20 bucks. Then I close that and it tries selling me the battle pass. Micro transactions are literally shoved in your face on cod it’s sad I miss the days of challenges to unlock cool things.
I quit a couple seasons ago when they released the mastiff reactive skin battle pass. The reason I quit was because I have always grinded so hard for all the battle passes and that season was no different but I couldn’t log on as much as I usually did and for that reason I only made level 109 in the battle pass and didn’t get the green/purple mastiff skin that I really wanted, that was a gun I was having fun using and I couldn’t use it anymore because I would get depressed every time I see the gun. I remember I played so much that battle passes week and the worst was that I completed all my challenges, but I didn’t log in daily so I missed out on the dailies and didn’t level up as much. I treated that game kinda like a job and for them to not give me the skin and I see dudes only using that skin, I will never invest my time or money on that garbage game. Apex was my favorite game
This is such a shame honestly, so tired of incredible devs getting in bed with predatory publishers. I remember hearing about Apex when it first came out knowing how much time I had spent on titanfall 1 and 2 and how much respect I had for this little studio of passionate devs that walked away from Activision and their crap to start something they believed in. All of that to just go get involved with EA is crazy to me. To go from titanfall’s micro transactions of a few bucks to the micro transaction hell that Apex is. Hoping that Helldivers 2 isn’t next on the chopping block and that PlayStation Studios is gonna leave Arrowhead alone after removing the game from over 100 countries during the whole PSN nightmare.
I haven't played since the season catalyst came out and didn't even know the EPG was in the game. That gun being introduced back in the beginning would've been so hype. Sad to see the state this game is in.

As a level 200 and something, I came back a little while ago and my first game on ranked (bronze 4) I played a 3 time pred who was silver 2. I quit ranked after that, but my next game I played a 2 stack of preds and a cheating path

Everything I have in my account was earned with hours of grinding. I hear people complaining about those things, but if you don't buy anything, you can still play the game, the freaking game is for free, don't forget. Apex needs a no Specialists mode, like a Grunts v Grunts conquest mode. Make the medium sized character the default, and add more ammo per magazine for this mode. Then allow the use of a map editor.
When I left was when they split the battle pass. Apex had already begun to feel unrewarding and like a chore, I would only go on to finish the battle pass. But as they made it harder to complete and they split the battle pass, I just I'm done. I had university applications coming up and Apex Legends was a monumental waste of time.

I can't get a Trios or a Ranked game on Australian or Japanese servers over the holiday period. The only populated game modes are winter express and the mixed play list.

First week player and I was so obsessed with this game. I mained Lifeline and no matter how many buffs and nerfs she got I never left her as I like her because of her personality and her lore, and I like to be a support player for my team. Got heirloom shards on season 10 and instantly unlocked her shock sticks. I was so excited to see her story from the outlands video and purchased her lore skin when it was released with my saved apex coins. Then the game became so deserted because of lack of some interesting new lore. The reborn rework of Lifeline got me back to play this game but I lost the interest again. It's been 2 months now playing Apex no more because of try hards and poor servers.
I got apex shards 2 months ago, bought the raptor's claw recently with it and some skjns for it with the exotics that i kept stacking from battlepass, now that i have a heirloom this game is desserted bro 😭. So much hard work over the 3 years to get shards without paying money and now the game dies. 😭😭

I was a day one player , I played like 8 hours a day for 5 years even when I worked a full time job. I loved this game a lot but there is just something so unbearable about the “skill based matchmaking” which we all know is really engagement based meaning it frequently puts you in unfair situations just because. The solo que experience is just so bad. I wanted to play this game forever but now I just can’t even touch it. I might download and play a match or two for the nostalgia. I miss when worlds edge and crypto first came out 😂

The biggest thing that killed apex for me was arenas, the fact that they made you play bad game mods just to get to tdm was insane. I genuinely had fun with the fast pace style of the game because no other game felt like that on console.

I've been playing for the last 3 years, and I've never seen anyone get 20 kills and 4000 damage in a single game. It seems impossible to achieve. Yes, you can see it on RUclips, but that could easily be rigged.

What hurts the most is that annoying back in time event where you work hard to make something like 20 kill bomb and a simple 4K but you don't get rewarded for that as in getting a badge or something like that, in addition to that we lost arenas, that was a fun way to tran your skills with squads that hit hard 😂😂😂 no hard feelings

IMO the most depressing thing about the current state of the game is that not all legends have their own Heirloom after 2-3 years of being in the game but, we keep getting prestige skins, heirloom recolours, and universal heirlooms. Idk why they wouldn’t prioritize every legend having their own unique heirlooms first. There are currently 7 legends that still don’t have a unique heirloom, Catalyst, Newcastle, Vantage, Mad Maggie, Ballistic, Conduit, and Alter, and by the time their heirlooms might be added (if at all) the game will probably be dead/there won’t be any incentive to buy them.
You are absolutely right about the battlepass split. And also the gambling events. Whoever made that thing up is actively killing the game.

I have around 1500 hours in and barely played at all this whole year. My whole issue is match making. I solo pub cue and it ALWAYS pairs me up with two completely new players. I'm talking like like lvl 20-30 it's insane. If I don't carry every single game they I can't win. It's just not fun having to sweat that hard every game. Plus they hot drop every time, get murdered in the first 30 seconds and then insta-leave. I stopped playing BR for this reason and only played arenas, then when they killed that mode I played mix tape but, haven't even done that in ages. This game is absolute torture for solo players, the teammates you get make it painful and not fun. It's sad because I do actually love the game but, I'm not a masochist. I'm playing helldivers and space marine now having tons of fun.

Lore related skin getting a trailer vs two random skins. They didn't make a stories of the outlands for a skin in a while though

I quit Apex back in August, I LOVED this game, but it just started getting drier and drier. I thought I was playing in a Desert when playing this. I now have moved over to other competitive games like Delta Force. It's such a same that such an amazing game has to be kept by such a greedy company. Especially when Respawn wants to make this game absolutely INSANE for us.

I bought every BP from S7 til 20. It is completely lost . The BP split was a bad move. I usually hit diamond by mid season, but now, by the time I get there I'm back to gold.
I've been playing since February 4th, 2019 (launch date/the birth of apex). It hurts to see that this game is falling due to greed and lust for money. Not fixing any problems, ignoring the community who cares about the game, but now are losing hope, and finally overpricing and being upset of not making any money that they expected (exactly what happened with season 22. The season didn't bring in enough money that they expected). This game has so much potential but is bad due to bad decision-making. After Season 23, i'm going to retire for good....

I get moving on from Apex because of micro transactions and the greed but moving to call of duty instead is wild I finally bought it on sale for like 52 dollars to play with my brother in law. First thing when I open bo6 is a promotion for the vault upgrade for 20 bucks. Then I close that and it tries selling me the battle pass. Micro transactions are literally shoved in your face on cod it’s sad I miss the days of challenges to unlock cool things.

I quit a couple seasons ago when they released the mastiff reactive skin battle pass.
The reason I quit was because I have always grinded so hard for all the battle passes and that season was no different but I couldn’t log on as much as I usually did and for that reason I only made level 109 in the battle pass and didn’t get the green/purple mastiff skin that I really wanted, that was a gun I was having fun using and I couldn’t use it anymore because I would get depressed every time I see the gun. I remember I played so much that battle passes week and the worst was that I completed all my challenges, but I didn’t log in daily so I missed out on the dailies and didn’t level up as much. I treated that game kinda like a job and for them to not give me the skin and I see dudes only using that skin, I will never invest my time or money on that garbage game. Apex was my favorite game

This is such a shame honestly, so tired of incredible devs getting in bed with predatory publishers. I remember hearing about Apex when it first came out knowing how much time I had spent on titanfall 1 and 2 and how much respect I had for this little studio of passionate devs that walked away from Activision and their crap to start something they believed in. All of that to just go get involved with EA is crazy to me. To go from titanfall’s micro transactions of a few bucks to the micro transaction hell that Apex is. Hoping that Helldivers 2 isn’t next on the chopping block and that PlayStation Studios is gonna leave Arrowhead alone after removing the game from over 100 countries during the whole PSN nightmare.
I haven't played since the season catalyst came out and didn't even know the EPG was in the game. That gun being introduced back in the beginning would've been so hype. Sad to see the state this game is in.

I’m sick of this nonsense. I’ve been patient for all these hours and years. I was young, and I willingly gave them my time and money. As a level 200 and something, I came back a little while ago and my first game on ranked (bronze 4) I played a 3 time pred who was silver 2. I quit ranked after that, but my next game I played a 2 stack of preds and a cheating path

Everything I have in my account was earned with hours of grinding. I hear people complaining about those things, but if you don't buy anything, you can still play the game, the freaking game is for free, don't forget. Stop complaining, play the game, if you don't like it anymore, move into something else. Period.

Apex needs a no Specialists mode, like a Grunts v Grunts conquest mode. Make the medium sized character the default, and add more ammo per magazine for this mode.

When I left was when they split the battle pass. Apex had already begun to feel unrewarding and like a chore, I would only go on to finish the battle pass. But as they made it harder to complete and they split the battle pass, I just I'm done.

To be honest, I kinda knew Apex would die out someday due to EA coming into the picture with Respawn, biggest mistake a company can make is pairing with EA, the game usually dies out due to that.
I can't get a Trios or a Ranked game on Australian or Japanese servers over the holiday period. The only populated game modes are winter express and the mixed play list.

The problem with Apex is the fact they ignore the casual players who are generally playing on console... ive asked for better fos settings on Playstation for over 2 years, and the best they could do was to add a performance mode that did eff all! So as the irish say - eff em!!!
